Very comfortable mattress and duvets in the tent
Owner is welcoming and can give lots of information about the area and SP
Cleanliness
The Astro tour was interesting and informative but planned at wrong time (too much moonlight at that time in the evening) and I have not received the photos

Far from the craziness of San Pedro, yet so close from the city. Amazing stargazing
Thank you so much for the warm welcome from the staff we felt as if a family member was taking care of us

Good value for money. Quirky! All needs catered for.
Nothing.

The camping site is really well located. Close to the city, but on a valey, so you can still enjoy the night sky without light polution. They also offer an astronomic tour in the premises for this reason.
The heater for the shower somethimes turned off automatically. But you can solve that by stopping and restarting the hot water.

Brilliant place that is alow key desert resort with a pool, breakfast, shady hammocks, great friendly hosts.
San Pedro itself is a dusty city and interesting to look around for a few hours but not that attractive to stay in. altos de Quitor on the other hand takes you 3km out for a desert Oasis experience. 10 minutes walk from the valle de la Muerta ( officially closed due to a collapsed road but you can climb around the gate and follow a clear walking path... No other tourists and was one of our highlights), 10 minutes walk from Pukara de Quitor ( pre Inca ruins and best lookout in San Pedro) and 10 minute bike ride to the fabulous and less touristed Catarpe Valley (another highlight ... Look it up ).
The downside is that it is a hot dusty 30 minute walk to town or $US7 taxi. However all the tours picked us up from our accomodation, breakfast is included and we made several lunches and pasta dinners in the hotel kitchen, which between three of us more than covered our taxi bills. We were also happy to go into town on some days to eat, but it is very expensive.
Overall you can't beat the setting.
We paid for the large Mongolian tents with private bathroom but the cheaper tents with shared bathroom were large and comfortable with a shady sitting area, close to the pool and kitchen.
Oh and as a bonus , the host runs an outdoor astronomy star gazing event on the site for 2/3 the cost of the ones from town and no need to travel anywhere.
Oh yer and when we had an early tour and would miss breakfast, the host packed us a snack bag of drink, roll and fruit, to take with us .
It has parking for camper Vans
Taxis to and from town but the location and we saved money making a few meals MORE THAN compensated .

Good location if you have a car. Good breakfast and very cosy tents. The staff was very nice and helpful.
It was noisy at night with birds and barking dogs.

*great location next to Mars Valley
* Nice and flexible people
* Great Snacks in case early departure
*basically you are staying in a comfortable tent
* noisy in the night as Astro show every day until midnight. so many people are passing your tent as well as explanations.
but if you stay during full moon it might be less
* Bath room stinks from the waste water pipes.

beautiful sky, quiet night, nice furniture with shades in the yard give the possibilities to get rest and look at the mountain during the day.
The bathroom can be improved. Room doesn’t have any view to the mountain. Have a mini refrigerator in the room would be great.

Very well equipped kitchen, and super helpful staff. Really clean place too. The tents were very cozy, and we had both a sleeping bag and a duvet for colder nights. The breakfast was really good, and served between 8-10. On the last day they even packed a lunch-bag. Highly recommend this place. One of the best i've been to in south america for the price!
It is 2 km out of town, and some tour-companies do not offer pick-up transfer from the property. Take this in mind when booking tours. Taxi to town is 5,000 chilenos, but the walk there is only 25-30 mins.

This camping is PERFECT for stargazing. It is a 30 minute walk to San Pedro, so a car or bike is recommended. The site is beautiful with lots of space to relax outside. Very friendly hosts, great breakfast and you get some kind of breakfast/lunch box if you have to leave early, for instance for an organized tour.
Nothing, it's perfect for the price

Loved staying in the tent -- very cozy. Great breakfast. Good location for stargazing and walking to Valle de la Muerte and Altos de Quitor sites.
Couldn't charge devices in tent, but probably should've expected that!

Amazing location , great place to stay & very close to San Pedro de Atacama
I would really appreciate to have a heater in the room, because in winter it's very cold .

very quiet and away from the town.
Clean, comfortable and very helpful staff.

The owners were so friendly and helpful. it was my first time glamping and it was really nice! it was cold outside during the winter but they provided extra blankets.
Everything was really good. only one small thing - it took a while for the shower to get warm.

We “glamped” here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed our stay - staff are friendly, the tent was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. We also did the DeepSky Atacama tour from here which was amazing. The shower facilities were basic but had hot water and more than served their purpose.
The tents get very hot during the day - not a problem for us but worth knowing.

Very lovely hosts, they were kind, gave a lot of information about the area.
The bathroom, tent, bedding and area in general were very clean.
There is a fridge - very useful
Did kindly provide towels when I asked.
My adult son enjoyed the experience, he had lower expectations and cares less about some of the things I found uncomfortable.
Noise from barking dogs all night was upsetting. I spent many sleepless hours listening to a chorus of dogs. I had thought it would be more secluded. The tents are too close together so no privacy.
Safety issues:
1) all the steps throughout the site and down to the tents are uneven, steps are very high and there are no hand rails. I fell once badly and just managed to stop myself fall down all the steps.
2) the route to the shower is uneven and very close to the edge of the pool.
3) poor lighting on the walkways, though a light is provided for use in the tents and I used this to walk around, I had to carry it everywhere.
4) one night an unknown dog had wondered into the tent area and barked all night. I didn’t dare go to the toilet as I was scared the dog could attack. The owners were very blasé about it in the morning.
5) No security for personal belongings, anyone could wander into the tent area and easily into the tents day and night.
The shower facilities were poor, only 1 shower, the water never got warm, the drain was too small for a shower and so you had to wade in the previous persons water, the curtain not long enough so water got all over the floor. It is also connected to the toilet with an open wall, so you can hear and smell what is going on in there, not pleasant.
The toilet had a bin in which people threw their used toilet paper - the bin was far too small and the top didn’t close unless you touched it and it got very full, some people do not wrap up their waste so you can see the soiled toilet paper. However, this is a problem throughout Chile in public toilets.
The make shift kitchen and dining area were off limits 10:00 and 13:00 so there was nowhere to get drinks or food during these hours. also in the afternoon the staff cooked and had their lunch so it felt off limits. The reception area is in the dining room, one could’t chat freely and TV noisy talk shows or radio with tinny music all the time.

location out of town and great management and staff

Perfect Place to relax, very close from San Pedro de Atacama, but outside of the noise and light for the town..!
The special attention from the owners, "Don Marco" its a very happy & friendly person...

- Beautiful location, great especially if you have a car. If you don't have a car, highly recommend at least renting a bike as San Pedro is the only town nearby and it is a 30 minute walk.
- Good shaded spaces around the property to sit and relax.
- WiFi is so slow most of the time that it's unusable. Mobile network signal is also very poor throughout the property.
- Drinking water ran out one afternoon, and the next day it was still empty. I asked about it and the owners just said they had no water :/ There are no shops nearby so it's not possible to buy it either. I would recommend the owners at least start selling water bottles, I don't mind paying for it.

Great and friendly staff helped us a lot to get around.
A bit far from the center, you have to take a taxi or on foot 30min.

Everything, the people, location and the view. It was a little far from the town and it gives the best isolated experience ever, when you woke up in the morning you find yourself surrounded by a stunning view, in the middle of huge hills, amazing sky with a deep blue, you felt like you are in another planet! Our Yurka room was fantastic, so modern, private toilet and excellent facilities and hot water, we were so impressed about the cleanest room, considering that you are in the middle of the desert. Livia and Marco are amazing hosts, extremely friendly, they provided us amazing tour tips and so cool local experiences. Our tours were so early so we couldn’t eat breakfast, so they kindly prepared a small snack for our tours. We will miss the amazing warm hospitality and kindness, for sure its one of our best experiences ever! Marco also runs deep sky tours and we really enjoyed it, we learnt so much about the galaxy, planets and then we had the chance to see the sky at night, explore stars and the moon! It was so cool and unforgettable experience. We are missing Pepe and Duke too!
Our room was a little cold at night, so I mentioned to the staff and they provided us more blankets and an electrical heating, after that our room was much more warmer. They quickly responded our request with a warm smile and amazing assistance, thanks for that!
