It was a beautiful place on a beautiful beach. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. The hotel unexpectedly has a Yoga deck allowed me to practice Yoga in the morning. Breakfast was included and delicious. I had lunch in the hotel restaurant before I left. The pasta was very tasty and better than many restaurants I went before I came to the island. I will definitely be back.
None.

Great location, great restaurant staff, friendly manager, very natural.
It was over priced for facilities offered and no AC in rooms.

Beautiful location and very friendly owner! Food was tasty and fresh, could really tell all the ingredients from the island. Only 20 minutes from town and right across the beach. Cant wait to comeback!
Do your research before coming! The tides can get strong at night!

Perfect get away from my 3 year anniversary with my wife. Lots of lovely restaurants and bars nearby. Beautiful wildlife, the staff fetched us a sloth to see haha! Convenient location and mind blowingly pretty beach. Would recommend to anyone.
Restaurant isn't always open but not a problem as it is self service and many restaurants/bars nearby.

The beach and the hotel was absolutely beautiful. I have never seen waves like this before and it was the perfect honeymoon vacation. The location is so convenient, right directly across the beach. We had a wonderful stay and will be returning.
It was surfing season so the staff and management were extremely busy, but we understand and still had a good time.

it should be more clean :)

I like the jungle atmosphere. Our host was very nice and courteous.
We booked two rooms. One was a upgraded room and the next one a srandard room. So we paid more for the upgraded room, but we got two standard rooms. Next for the price we paid, you expect warm shower at a minimum. It took 15 minutes of running water before we got warm water. Next, the beach is beautiful but unusable. The waves are too rough, so you can get your feet wet atvthe most. Lastly the dinner was a disaster. My wife got her meal 15 minutes after the rest of the us. The linguini wasnt cooked long enough. The fries were not done long enough, and we asked for a burger. Well done, it was still red on the inside. .so, there it is. For the price, i will not be coming back, and i got ripped off.

Our stay at playa bluff hotel was amazing, one of our best hotel during travel in Costa Rica and Panama. It is right in front of the beautiful beach. The bedrooms are big and really comfortable and clean + hot water. The food was really good and tasty, good breakfast too.
The team of playa bluff hotel are so nice and helpful, especially Anthony, one of the new manager. He made our stay wonderful.
It’s an eco hotel, not right in the center but there is a lot of taxi and shuttles to the center. A really peaceful stay !
Thank you for everything!!
I really searched but can’t find anything that wasn’t good.

The location is perfect, right in front of the beautiful beach. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Can't think of any.
4.5
The breakfast offered was excellent and plenty-full, and the staff accepted small tweaks (e.g., one extra egg and no pancakes).
The new management is doing a good job of revamping this nice place next to the beach.
The restaurant/bar was not available during our stay.

excellent! Nice, friendly and helpsome people made sure we had i great time at Bluff Hotel. It really was a pleasure staying there with our kids! good rooms, sluths in The garden, Sound of wawes and a serious french toast for breakfast! would love to come back!
3.5
the property is fine, the location is great.
There is no fridge in the rooms or shared for keeping the drinks or food cold. This should be there because the location is self catering.
Also the room cleaning sometimes is missing and changing the towels too.

Everything was phenomenal - the hotel was exceptional, right on the beach, with a private pool and bar area. The breakfast was amazing and the staff were simply outstanding
Not much, everything was great
3.0
The hotel has very nice gardens, in the middle of the jungle, and it’s just next to the sea (although be careful of the dangerous waves!).
There is no AC in the room, and the pool should have a motor to keep the water moving.
2.5
The rooms are comfortable and most of them are in the back in the garden, a little farer from the sea so that the big waves are not so loud anymore
Every day it is exactly the same breakfast. When you are not in your room during the day they can not clean the room as there is only 1 key for every lock. Pluff beach is really far from everything else, 15 dollar taxi to get there so you are kind of trapped there, we would have preferred to stay near town and only visit the beach once. Also isla bastimento is a nice idea as the water taxi goes 24/7 and is only 1 doller per person. Every choice for dinner around the hotel is really expensive. This hotel was our far most expensive choice during 8 weeks of travelling and it was not worth it, for that price in Europe you get far more luxury. The pictures also look nicer than in real:(

The location is very beautiful and far from all that civilization means! The beach is very close. A beautiful landscape!
we arrived after a very long journey! we are 10 friends. I missed the ferry and arrived at 9:40 the next morning! Stephany who runs the location said that breakfast is up to 9 30! we were very hungry and very tired! although it says that the breakfast is between 7 and 10, I received breakfast every day at around 9!very poor breakfast! towels do not change, linen does not, hot water is only rare. to eat eggs every day is ....I wouldn't stay there anymore! staff should be trained on how to promote the site and make it more popular!

location is good
where to start...
This is not the same place what was in the past . it's owned by a different group.
quick list of issues:
-tried to give us lower category room than we booked . After some argument we got what we booked.
-the pool was awful , could not use that dirty pond. one guest tried to clean, btw
-we ordered a dinner , they served a lunch and insisted to have it , as "it's not a big problem"
-we ordered a vegetarian dish , got some french fries and boiled veggies (exactly the same side dish we got for the fish). They charged full price for this side dish
-there was no hot water for 5 day. every day we complained , the usual answer from the staff was "It can happen" After 5 day a mechanic came and fixed it
-the owner's son went to the room of my sister's and stood in the door of bathroom when she finished , stared her. It was frightening , she got shock . Of course the door lock was broken... After that we had a huge argument with the staff . it was the last day.
The big local lady (receptionist/cook) was really rude
Avoid this place especially because it's easy to find really good other place around with amazing service . this is what we did.

The beach - Playa Bluff is very very nice. There are very few people at the beach since the location is quite remote. There are other nice spots you can walk to from here, e.g Blue lagoon and La piscina.
The hotel has a lot of potential, however, it is not used.
We decided to leave 2 days early and got refunded for these 2 nights.
The accommodation and the surroundings are very nice…
BUT it lacks staff, knowledge, care and attention. I would not stay here again. Instead, I would go for Oasis located just a few minutes walk from here (the owners in Oasis are really amazing, they know what they are doing and they do it well).
We only had a chance to meet one employee during our check in and another local lady who was helping with cleaning and during breakfast. After this, the reception was closed and it was quite hard to see who is actually working here or who is running the place. The breakfast was served by a blonde lady with strange vibe who we initially thought was an owner. However, when we approached her the day we decided to leave we were told she was new and she was only a volunteer.
I understand that employee’s no show might cause issues. But I believe that the owners, volunteers or whoever else should not be using this as an excuse during the whole stay.
Maybe it would be a good idea if the so-called volunteers spend less time cleaning the pool (that nobody is using anyway) and spend more time learning how to run their business.
When we checked in we were told we could order lunch or dinner at the property. However, when we wanted to order some food, we were told by an asian guy who seemed like an employee as he was using the kitchen to prepare a lunch for himself(by google translator since he did not speak english or spanish) that the chef was not available.
We were faced several times with the excuse that the specific employee is not available - basically, any time we needed something…
The breakfast was repeatedly served on dirty plates.
The room was not cleaned during our stay, we were not offered with this option.
The hot water was not working properly.
To reach or leave the “hotel”, you need to take a taxi which costs cca 15$. They say that there are regular buses from the Bocas town, however, we did not see any during the 2 and half days we stayed here.

location, the beach was perfect.
The lock on my room door was not working properly.
The fact that the property gate was locked and I could not go out to walk on the beach to view the sunrise. He didn’t open the gate until 7 am.
The WIFI was week or just not working at times.
Wish I had access to coffee before 9 am. last day I did.
The pool left a lot to be desired.

Everything was fantastic. Stephanie(the owner) is the sweetest person ever!

The location
Terrible hospitality! This place is not being taken care of. Do not stay here. The room was not cleaned. Dirty stained sheets and very old gross pillows. The shower had a trickle of water and no hot water. Had to shower in a different room. The staff were not helpful. Owners had a very weird vibe. They locked the gate to get out at 7 and we’re not around to open it, so we had to climb out in order to not miss dinner reservations. Breakfast was horrible.

The location is far out of town. Privacy and whole beach to yourselves. But a fairly long taxi ride on rough road. All good fif our purposes.
Lack of restaurants open due to covid

Not much good things: nature
absolutely quiet place, you can be alone and relax
The accommodation is located far from the city. 30-45 minutes by car, bus costs one way 3.5 $ for 1 person, taxi costs 10 $. Or you have to rent bicycle in town. The host did not organise anything.
In this location are beaches, where you can not swim. These beaches are good for surfing only.
You can't go for a food or a drink, you can buy something in town only.
The property itself is not bad, it has big potential, but:
Breakfast is tragedy. We had cold scrambled eggs in 3 days.
Accommodation was not well cleaned, nobody cleans in 3 days. And hot water is not available until last night. The staff was willing, but it is not enough for improve the critical evaluation.
The price definitely does not match what we expected.

The atmoshpere/setting/availability to the beach
Pool was getting redone so it wasnt available but we were compd for it.
