No breakfast included. Location was fab about 15 minutes from Leek. Pub just down the road served good food but you must book in advance as it is very busy. It is closed on a Monday and Tuesday. Further up the road is an excellent Indian restaurant again book in advance. We were in a good location easy to get to places of interest. We visited Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Matlock - Abraham Heights was lovely. Visited lots of other little villages and had some good food in the local pubs.
The cottage could have done with a cupboard to store dry food stuffs like cereals and bread - we were there for a week and I like to put things away so the counter top is clear but it was ok. Mobile phone connection is a bit hit and miss but that is typical for the countryside.

Very appropriate decoration and comfortable. The bed was almost like home, but my wife loved having a heated mat under the sheets.
There is a wood burner in the living room that was prepared and gave a lovely warmth and we loved just wating the cows and rabbits across road with the fire going. This wasn't needed as there is central heating and timed perfectly, we just wanted the full cottage feel.
Kitchen was clean and bathroom was spotless, we can't wait to go back. Such a great place to relax.
The owners are very friendly and accommodating, they have great recommendations for where to eat and always avaliable to answer questions.
Only minor points were: could do with a smart tv in these days. We could use our subscription services then. There is a dvd player and a selection of films so not that bad. It is a digital TV but signal isn't great for all channels.
The only other point is the height of the shower, realistically nothing can be done as it is a 350yr old cottage. It would be nice to have the shower screen all the way across to stop soaking the floor. Please don't let this stop you from having a great stay like we did.

Mick the host could not have been more helpful. He contacted me by phone the day before providing all the information I needed - including some great restaurant tips. The cottage was warm and comfortable during a rather wet, windy and cold stay. Everything was as advertised.
Loved it all

The property was centrally located for walks in the Derbyshire dales.
The cottage was on a fairly busy road so quite noisy at times.
Also it would be better to include the cost of using the central heating within the main booking rather than additional costs for heat and taking a pet.

The cottage was beautifully presented with everything we needed. Mike was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Nice pub across the road.

Good Kitchen
The extra charge for heating. This should be built into the price
