Friendly staff, good location to wild Atlantic way.
Breakfast not to our liking, mushrooms from a tin, pale bacon, lots of grease, poached eggs hard.
No information was given to us by reception on arrival, a friendly local gave us the heads up on places to see and visit on the Island.
Bathroom was old and tired making ot look dirty.

The location is the big plus of the hotel. All the staff was friendly. I liked the nice old-time charm of the hotel, which however is no excuse for lack of renovations and shabbiness, especially in the bathroom.
The bathroom was shabby: the bin was of the decades-old quality that keeps going no matter how rusty it is inside and outside, tile joints were broken and missing. It looked as if no one was taking care. Cleanliness was doubtful in view of the neglected state. Towels had hairs that were not ours.
The quality of the breakfast offered was disappointing, especially concerning fresh fruit, jams, coffee, variety of bread, the slow-food toaster. The traditional Irish breakfast has been less dripping with fat at all other places we have been in Ireland. Irish butter was good as always, as were Wheatabix as the last resort. Please ask for 5€ more for the breakfast and offer good quality and variety - and update your toaster.
This is a hotel in a superb location that could turn its old-time charms into attractive traits, if very obviously necessary renovations of the rooms were done and if the breakfast, which in parts is admirably served by staff, were of better quality and variety.

Breakfast was excellent. Superb selection offered. Staff were excellent, very friendly and always had a smile.
Location excellent.
Bedroom was spotless.
Better selection of toiletries e.g shampoo, shower gel etc. This would create a more luxurious feel.
A selection of bottled water in the bedroom would be great also.

The location is amazing, breathtaking views from the windows.
The quality of the room was not up to the standards, the toilet flush wasn’t working, there wasn’t even water for drinking.. we had to pay &3.50 extra for a small bottle of water. The water from the shower is always too hot, very difficult to take shower.

Beautiful surroundings and the food at the restaurant is very good.
A little noisy with people moving through the corridor at night and early hours of the morning. It is a little outdated and could use some repairs.

Stayed two nights at this very nice hotel. It is ideally situated to tour around the wonderful sights that Achill have to offer. Staff were very friendly and the standard of food was very good. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Nice view from the room. Clean.
Family run hotel. Owner and her son both very genuine in their efforts to make amends after an issue that was brought to their attention
Banging live music and DJ until after 3 am one night for a private function that we weren't told anything about. Quality of food given to residents eating in the bar area on the same night was very poor

Very helpful and friendly staff. Good bar and restaurants. Good parking facilities.
Room bathrooms are bath-showers rather than walk-in-showers: not appropriate for elderly or infirm guests. Room wifi cover inadequate.

A friendly lady at reception upon our arrival gave us local tips of the area. Our room was clean.
The entire place had a funky smell. Like wet dog or worse. Infact the best smelling room I went into was the men's toilets by the bar.
We ordered dinner... It took about 3 minutes before it was sent out to us.. that's 3 minutes of microwave time. We ate what we could but ended up getting something from the local takeaway later.
Considering it was the only main hotel in the locality it was quite poor all round.. it drew in a croud, but when youre as far as achill you have no choice really.

staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly
