Location is perfect with a lovely view overlooking all the animals - so nice to wake up and see giraffes chilling. Game drive is amazing, so interesting to hear about the animals from the kind owners. You can also hike around the farm. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The highlight was definitely when the lovely staff surprised my husband with a bottle of wine and sang happy birthday to him - such a nice gesture! We were so sad we only booked 1 night. Next time we will book at least 3 nights!

Excellent location with outstanding views to the valley. Great place to rest and recover from long driving distances in Namibia.
Not much, everything was quite good. Perhaps the mattress was on the softer side and would welcome a replacement.

Wonderful place, on top a little hill from where you can have a breathtaking view on 360°. The apartment was amazing, and the staff i very professional, you feel like at home. Lunch and breakfast are great.
We also really enjoyed the feeding of the animals. That was a special experience when the lion was coming very close, and also to get into the cheeta's fence... In the morning we could see giraffes very close...I really recommend !

Feeding of sheeta, lepard and lion, motivated and encouraged staff, great dishes
Old interior, mattress, from Otavi coming not well indicated

Excellent location with amazing views. We stayed in the luxury accommodation and could see the leopard and various antelope with binoculars from our room. All staff were very friendly and food was good.
The drive with Johann to feed the cats was well worth it. One of the best experiences of our trip to Namibia. We also visited the Cheetah Conservation Fund for the behind the scenes tour. This is the more expensive option but you see more cats and can feed them yourself.
A few reviews commented that the track was bad to Aloegrove. I suspect they had only recently landed in Namibia! The track is easily passable and in significantly better condition than many roads in the south of Namibia. It takes about an extra 30 minutes from the main road so remember to add this to your GPS time.

Excellent value, amazing views, the mountain view room is large and has everything you would need. Common areas are comfortable and ample. Staff and owners were great. Food was good.
Nothing comes to mind!

Fantastic location in the middle of the nature and a reserve. Beautiful landscape view. Well furnished for self catering but also a nice restaurant with a terrace and a swimming pool from where you can see the savannah. We have taken the 2 hours safari in the lodge private reserve, we have seen black springboxes, a lion, a cheetah and a jaguar for instance and we have learnt many things about them thanks to our host.

Aloegrove is set in an amazing location with extensive views in all directions. Attention to detail and care offered by owners and staff alike is exceptional. Second to none. The owners' work with orphaned big cats and the chance to visit these is really interesting.
The accommodation is beautifully set out with individual facilities and great views from every property. The food was excellent too. We stayed for 1 night on our way back to Windhoek but in future will return and stay for longer. It's an amazing place to relax. Thanks for making us so welcome!!

a little bit far from the main road, but you can see a lot of animals on the way (like a little safari)

On one hand Aloegrove is a lodge with a spectacular view, and spacious bungalows with huge comfort and well equipped, on top bathtubs overviewing the plains, on the other hand it feels really private and comfortable. Ivy & Johann, the owners, are present quietly in the background to make one's stay unforgettable, and if one wishes, their hospitality is generously shared.

Great game drive with Ivy and Johan. Saw cheetah, leopard and lion they keep in large compounds, as well as other animals on their land. Dinner was excellent. Views spectacular. Comfortable, spacious luxury room with a great view.
If you've booked a room with self-catering facilities but want to eat in the restaurant, book the restaurant in advance to avoid confusion.

Great location, view. Wonderful tour in evening to see the lion, cheetah, leopard in there wide (fenced) areas and the animals in the free area. Great hosts & excellent dinner!. The rooms were just stunning!

Absolutely loved our stay here! We only stayed for one night but it was perfect. Loved our self catering unit. Everything was well thought off from mosquito screens to cooking appliances and a beautiful bathroom.
My favourite bit was touring the reserve and meeting the big cats!! My husband went for a run in the early morning and spotted giraffes. How cool! It's so lovely to see how much the owners care about the animals and the work that they are doing! I would definitely stay here again and recommended this place to others we met on our trip.
And to the folks complaining about the gravel roads to get to the property, they must not have gone South! Their driveway is by far one of the best gravel roads you'll come across.
Nothing to dislike!

Very spacious rooms/cabins, best food on the trip (for dinner and breakfast); the whole area is very fascinating, all maintained by the family - and they are extremely nice; a must experience with the wild cat drive.
The road from the main street B1 to the lodge takes some time (30min+), but this is what makes the place so special!

The food was excellent and the drive to see the cats as well.

The property is situated on top of a hill with the most amazing views. The cottages look over this view completely unobstructed. The experience overall is just unique and highly recommended.
The personal service from the hosts and great food!
We only stayed for 1 night but it should have been at least 2 or 3 or.. :)
Nothing to dislike!

very heartful welcome by the owners of the lodge.
the location is brilliant overlooking kilometers of private farmland.
animals can be watched from high above, either from the main building or from the guest huts.
the pool is great especially when the hot days are coming.
the lodge has seen better days.
the rooms have a 1980s standard and are not cleaned properly.
bathrooms, floors and walls need an urgent upgrade, especially if the lodge wants to ask premium prices as they do.
everything works, but not more. If you spend 200 US Dollars plus, you expect more, as well if Covid was harmful to all lodges run my private business owners. One could have used the time and spend little money in order to have prestine rooms again when the tourists come again.

Great view of the Plateau and surrounding bush. The facilities and dinner were excellent.
We were sorry to have missed the game drive but this was not Lodge's fault. We were late in arriving because the road into the lodge took about 40 min and was bad in some places. But Namibia had very good rains, so this was to be expected.

Warm welcome. Hosts care about their guests. Really nice place to take a walk. The food was also fantastic. Everytime with a extra twist. Will definetly stay again.

The lodge is beautifully located with a great view on the Waterberg and surrounding area from the hill. You can enjoy the view directly from the pool.
Johan, the owner, offers a unique game drive where you will meet lion, leopard and cheetah and other animals (antilopes etc, also Dik-Dik) which live on his farm. It was an amazing experience, you should definitely join the tour! Johan and his wife are really friendly and fun and told us lots of interesting things about their life on their farm.
Moreover, the dinner was one of the best we have had in Namibia. Breakfast also was very tasty :-)
All in all we highly recommend Aloegroeve!

Aloegrove was our first accomodation after having arrived in Windhoek. It felt like home, especially because of the owners, Johan and Ivy. They took care of us so well that it is difficult to describe. The food was amazing and far above all we expected. The location on top of a hill with 360° surround view superb and the rooms just lovely in every detail. We easily arrived with our 2WD bus. Internet access was also OK. We can only recommend this place!

This was a perfect stay for us. After 2 weeks of stressful travel we really could relax in the lodge.
We felt like being among friends. The food was house cooked and the best we did have during our trip. Excellent and delicious.
All animals were well kept and you feel that they are important and well treated.
It is a bit off the main road, however worth the detour.
Thanks a lot to the hosts Ivy and Johan. Great job. We will for sure return on our next trip.
