We loved the setting, the view, and it's positioned well for outdoor recreation, access to Dilliardsville, Sylva, and WCU. It needs a little freshening up and some additional amenities.

Great views, plenty of space, and fun place to stay for all kinds of activities.

Enjoyed our weekend stay. Went up to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Cabin was nice and peaceful, secluded, no highway/city noise. It was a much needed unplug weekend for me and leisure trip.

Great view from every window and close to town. Suggest 4 wheel drive as the roads are bit narrow and scetchy

The game room was definitely amazing we had a lot of fun and it was very beautiful there

Pros- the location, space, game room, plenty of towels and bedding. Cons-no washer or dryer, no Wi-Fi, steep windy drive. Overall great stay just be prepared with a hotspot and firewood to enjoy the fireplace and Roku tv.

Very clean. Sleeping arrangements were great for my family. The view is spectacular. Loved having a wood burning fireplace. Can’t beat what you get for the price!

Bella Vista was a great cabin for our family (2 adults and 3 children). The views of the mountains were peaceful, fun game room in basement along with 3 bed bedroom, which was great for kids. 2 Masters on main floor. Downsides: water rationing. We did not run out with 5ppl for 6 days, but we were very careful about usage, opting for bottled water, hand sanitizer and quick showers. Also the road getting to the cabin is very steep, gravel and has many switchbacks. Not for FWD vehicles.

The first two days it seemed the Heat pump was frozen. We fortunately bought fire wood and found a portable heater in the basement. The view was great though! The washer doesn’t work well but the dryer does for the most part. The dishwasher was not clean and didn’t work well either. We tried to use our limited water wisely, running the dishwasher once, using the washer once and five adults not taking showers everyday we were out of water the last day. There was no firewood there for the fireplace so we bought a lot of it leaving two bundles for the next family. The house is beautiful but needs attention if it’s going to be rented. The bedding other than sheets needs to be laundered too. The batteries on the entry box front door need to be replaced. Otherwise with all the things we had a fabulous time . The people we booked with were great!!

Location is great. Secluded from the real world and quite. The heat didn't work, it worked, but there was space heaters in the closets in the bottom floor for a reason. It was too cold down there for my kids to sleep and they slept on the couch upstairs. I do appreciate the caretaker who was super helpful when we arrived and our thermostat was locked out, as in- needed a code to change anything. Be prepared to be cold if you are planning on using the bottom floor and the road isn't as bad as some say, wouldn't recommend going at night and Cowee Tunnel is literally down at the bottom of the mountain, look it up and go explore, just remember the train runs daily.

The house was fine and it was clean. Just a couple of issues. Listing said there were 6 beds. There were only 5, which meant one grown man had to sleep on a couch. Also listed the casino as 7 miles away(which is one of the main reasons I chose this location), but the casino is actually around 20 miles away. It might be 7 miles as the crow flies, but definitely not 7 miles driving. The pool table was missing a ball. Just these multiple little things took away from the experience, but overall it was ok.

We enjoyed our stay. It would have been better if there was internet, cable in the main living room (only dvd player there) and access to a washer and dryer were available. We live simply so it was no big deal for us. But if a family comes with kids, it would be nice if it was available.

The big deck. The views where great

We ran out of water after the third day. If we would’ve known prior to booking that we had to ration the water (which we did but still ran out) we would’ve stayed somewhere else. The maintenance guy said it happens all the time so they didn’t even come out an check on it. We ended up spending the rest of our vacation at a crappy hotel and our vacation was ruined

Awesome place
We absolutely loved staying on this property, it was a little ways up the mountain but that wasn't a problem for us but I so recommend having a 4×4 truck cause it is steep doing up the mountain, the only problem I had was that the hot tub did not work and I was really looking forward to getting in but we couldn't and I had my hopes set on that, I called for someone to come out but they didn't ever come but we did have to leave a day early cause of the weather, rain sleet and snow and we were almost 5 hours away, but over all I would definitely go back and stay there again it was so homie feeling.

Simply a great escape.
Clean, organized, peaceful and serene. Brought some friends to worship, unplug, and read our Bibles for a weekend and it was beautifully maintained for us!

Perfect Vacation Rental!
I picked this house for the view. It was a lovely view. The house was beautiful, clean, and had everything described. There were not many neighbors so no distractions or noises. With cable, movies, board games, pool table, and foosball table we had plenty to do while at the house. The pool table being our favorite. In addition there were trails nearby on the mountain. The kitchen was well equip with anything we needed. The beds were comfortable. There were 4 of us staying and we had no issues with anything. I'm grateful my friend went with us and did the driving. I'm use to flat land so that first trip to the house was a shock once we reached a certain height, being at such a height and a one lane non paved road. He had no issue with driving it as I'm sure most wouldn't. I wanted to mention it for future guest, you may want to arrive during the day if you are not use to mountain terrain. The only thing I would change is the number of days in which we booked. I am a homebody who doesn't stay away from home more than 2 nights. I believe I could have easily stayed there a week.

The gravel road up to this house was a little scary at first, but the views were awesome!! Directions given were spot on!

Nice Cottage, in need of updating
It was a nice place and the view was amazing. It is in need of updating, the pool sticks were worn and table was missing a ball. The oven did not work, thankfully the caretaker brought a portable cook top so we could cook some, as the new oven would not arrive until after checkout. There is no wifi, which needs to be stated in the details of the home, but signal is pretty good so Hotspot worked fine. It was a relaxing time but some things need work.

Gorgeous but dirty
A bit dirtier than we’d like but still a nice place to stay. Pool sticks downstairs were ancient and broken. Easily a 5-star capable cabin with a little cleaning and TLC.

Beautiful!
We stayed here for a family getaway and to attend a conference in Cherokee. Wonderful views, great house, and nice and quiet property. We have an SUV, and the drive up was no problem. Close to Bryson City, Cherokee, Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Not all it's cracked up to be
If you're simply looking to get away for a couple of days this may work, longer stays, not so much. Not well cleaned, and a lot of things only partially work, they want you to ration the water, and you have to boil water to take a bath because the hot water is not hot- so showers are not an option. Expected a lot more.

Enjoyed the visit
Nice, clean house. Not sure if there are local attractions. The road to house can be a challenge, be prepared for gravel, uphill single lane road.

Much needed quality family time!
We celebrated our son’s 7th birthday at Bella Vista. During our stay we tried the “mom approved” white water rafting experience on the Tuckasegee River at Dillsboro River Company. It was just a few minutes away from the cabin, which made it quiet convenient to get out of our wet clothes when we headed back to dry off. We experience all the local shops that downtown Sylva had to offer, including some cool breweries and up to date restaurants. We enjoyed a day of horseback riding in Cherokee at End of the Trail Stables which is highly recommended. We also enjoyed a full day of fun at Dollywood. Driving through the National Park was a beautiful ride to the theme park where we stopped along the way for photo opps and a packed picnic lunch. We were excited to see a bald eagle every day off the deck and wild turkeys on our way down one day too. Lots of mountain berries, wildflowers and greenery. We mostly enjoyed the gravel on the way up and down the mountain making us feel safe for our family of four. We enjoyed being able to walk out of the cabin and take morning and after dinner hikes. This gave us a free opportunity to entertain the kids away from the tv and video game screens. We just spent a lovely time embracing nature and spending much needed quality family time. Would love to come back and celebrate again next year! Thank you so much for opening up your home to us.

Beautiful Adventure
The views were breathtaking! The road up to the house was very intimidating and could use a solar light... or three as it was very very dark.

Beautiful View!
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was comfortable and clean. We didn’t think the driveway wasn’t nearly as bad as many of the reviews stated although I’ve been coming to Sylva for over 30 years to visit my grandmother.
