Helpful staff and great location

The staff were the best part of our stay. Wilson was friendly and helpful and very accommodating to our needs. He upgraded us to a room with a window to the outside and it made all the difference to our being able to stay. Andreas, a staff member on another shift, was also very friendly and always asking to be of assistance. The location is excellent to see all the attractions of Quito.

Great location, Gracious Hosts, and Helpful Staff

The location was amazing, right in the historic district of Quito. We were able to drop our bags off and explore. The inside of the building was beautiful. It had a little courtyard in the middle with the rooms overlooking. The staff was great in getting us a taxi the next day. While we were waiting for the taxi, we had a great talk with the owner, who made sure we had a good taxi driver. The airline had lost my bag, and the front desk was very communicative with me about getting my bag back when the airline dropped it off. They wouldn't leave it at the front desk, and the staff made sure I got it back. Overall, they had great service.

Safe accommodation near Old Town.

Safe, quiet, great location by the Old Town, room big enough, some English language programmes on TV. Nice, helpful staff.

Not a social hostel. No view from the window.

Jamie was fantastic and went out of his way to help me. When I had a problem with my door lock they switched my room without any hesitation. The place was centrally located in Old Town and that made it convenient.

There were no downsides.

There is currently construction at the hotel...

Central location, very close to the main walking streets and plazas.

There was construction at the hotel everyday, which made it incredibly hard for me to work; I was woke up at 9am in the morning on several occasions. There was no warning about this after making the booking, there was no warning when I was checking in. The construction was forced upon me without consent. At one point, I asked them to stop the construction until I checked out the next day, to which they agreed. However, I was woke up by construction the very nice day. RUDE.

Good choice in the center

The hostel is located in the historic center of Quito, so you can visit a lot of things by walking. The owner is very helpful and friendly, and the house is beautiful. My room was very cold though, much colder than the outdoors. But luckily they gave as many blankets as I wanted :-) You can’t enter the building with your key, you always have to ring the bell, which might be a bit unusual, but it’s for safety reasons.

Front door remains locked through the day and night and desk is not 24 hours , they live and sleep on the job. Bell ring in and out with hope for luck that someone opens

friendly staff, great location, nice indoor style, big enough room, quiet

blankets were hard and dusty (dust allergy kicked in big time), bed was hard and uncomfortable and too short for tall people, room was very cold (even at sunny days), wifi wasn't working the whole stay (probably not a permanent problem though) and there was no mobile reception in the building either, water level in toilet was too high / toilet seat was too low (which might be problematic, if you are a guy 😆), funny smell in the room

Good value in historic center

Owner/staff very helpful. Location is perfect for day exploring around the historic center. Rooms are large and clean, nicely decorated with paintings, beds comfortable, price was good. Owner helps with laundry.

Hot water in shower was intermittent, would stop for a few minutes then restart. No heater in room, which was somewhat cold in the mornings Wifi setup with 2 different passwords was confusing, but worked ok when you connected to the right one.

Perfect hotel to explore quito.

There was everything one could need and the hotel is located in a very central place. The owners are very nice and helpful. I didn‘t miss anything.

Our stay was short, but perfect. The hostal host woke up at 4:30am to open the door so we could leave for an early fligh

The hostal is located right in the historical district and is close to many churches and museums.

It felt outdated, but then again, it is in the historical district.

Everything is GREAT! A great hostel with great people. I want to thank Jamie Sr. and Jamie Jr. for everything. Great location, clean and spacious rooms. Cozy courtyard and good WiFi.

Overall we're very happy with our stay.

Staff was very nice and helpful, they waited for us although we arrived late in the night (~2AM). Very central location. Clean room. Hot water.

No daylight because the only window was to the building interior, but that wasn't an issue for us. It was a bit cold in the room, but I guess this is the case in all Centro Historico hostels.

Great location hotel in beautiful building

Jamie was a true gentleman, nice and helpful giving advice. There were not many people at the hotel but the place is a beautiful colonial building in the heart of the centro historico. The room is adequate and clean. Enough blankets to keep you warm during the cold evenings. Location is excellent for exploring the city.

My very nice stay at Hostal Flores

The building itself is beautiful and perfectly located in the historical center. The room is so comfortable, hot shower, beds are amazing (as well as pillows) and it is super clean. The staff (the owner and his son are 2 amazing persons that will always help you out, with a smile, always being kind and generous) They are such nice people. ex: I came back at 3am from Coca, still, I was welcomed with a smile, kind words, a cup of tea, and handed a room.

To be honest, nothing that I can think of. After booking countless rooms around the globe, Hostal Flores is one of the top one.

My first time in Quito, would love to come back!

Nice convenient location near the historic center of Quito. Close to several bus stops, cafes, restaurants and shopping. Father and son team team very friendly and helpful and they kept the whole place spotless.

There is nothing to dislike, good value place in an amazing city.

Good deal for a short stay

Location and stuff amazing

Very cold in the rooms unfortunately because of the type of the building. Also the windows were a bit problematic as not much air could get in.

Exceptional

Very old building, but renovated for present needs. This hostel has it's amazing look and very friendly stuff. It is nice and quiet right in the center of the Old Quito.

When I complained that residents above my room were making noise I was offered immediately another room which was very quiet and up to the high standard. Also when I was waiting for a taxi to get to the airport I was told by owner of the hostel that taxi will cost 25 dolars. Unfortunately I had only 24 dolars. He put into my pocket 5 dolars to make sure I have enough for a taxi. I felt looked after by staff. Everyone was very nice and very helpful
