Great property.
Conveniently located. Great communication with the owner!

The House was super clean and had everything we needed. A few nice bonus items were extra chairs a beach wagon and the Kyaks. The only negative was the Mosquitos at times, they were pretty bad if the wind died down.

Great location. Relaxing was achieved and the kids were entertained exploring.

We enjoyed being close to both the bay and the ocean. Our family enjoyed the kayaks! The house isn’t as new as some, but it was clean and had everything we needed. We never ran out of hot water and had 6 people bathing every night. The only thing we looked for that we couldn’t find was a broom to help with the sand tracked in. There was a vacuum. The outdoor shower also helped.
Overall, great location! Great views from back porch and large windows in the back of the house! John was very helpful with quick responses to questions we had. 👍👍

We greatly enjoyed the kayaks at the home. We paddled around the bay.
We caught a 36 inch redfish from the shore (paddled the bait out to drop it) as well as several sail catfish and sharks.
The ocean side of the island is nicer for swimming but is just a short walk away which is lovely.
Another wonderful week at Dauphin Island

This was a great place for my family. Just a short walk to the Gulfside beach, and the bayside was basically the “backyard.” The sunrises and sunsets were amazing. Kayaks and grill are nice perks. The owner is very helpful and quick to respond. Overall the place is great with just minor things missing or needing some TLC. The owner is aware and is working thru a remodel. But don’t let those things turn you away. It was a comfy place in a good location with a great AC unit, new washer/dryer, and new refrigerator.

We loved our stay at this property. So convenient to the Mississippi Sound behine us and the Gulf of Mexico on the front side...each offering their own fun and adventure. We were a family of 8 with 3 grandsons ranging from 15-7.. Each had a tremendous time. Loved fishing in both bodies of water. Even took a pontoon out for 1/2 day to explore the area and let the boys get in a little more fishing with their Papaw. We toured Fort Gaines which my youngest 7 year old grandson thoroughly enjoyed.. He loves everything about the wars and this was the first fort he'd been to. We also toured the Aquarium on the island and that too was fun for all of us.We enjoyed getting on the ferry afterwards to tour the Gulf Shores side.. Eat at a wonderful restuarant and headed by to Dauphin Island to catch the awesome sunset! Our daughter got up early 3 mornings to have time to take her son and see the sunrise.. Beautiful place and definitely worth exploring. House is the perfect location to do so!

Overall we loved our stay in the little blue house. The location was just steps away from the Sehoy beach access making getting to the beach a breeze. Access to the bay is also just steps away. We loved watching the stunning sunsets from the bay. The home could use some updating and maintenance but it was clean and tidy.

Location could not have been any better. Facing the bay, it was perfect for our family with young kids because the water was calm and shallow. It was quiet and peaceful and we loved all the crabs, dolphins, birds, etc. The house is comfortable for the most part but is in need of some basic repairs like some outlets not working or didn’t have cover plates. Some doors don’t latch. Kitchen cabinets were a little worn out. A little TLC would bring this to a five star.

Perfect for a family with older kids. Some stayed at the bay while others went to beach. The back porch was where we spent most of our time- lyou could see sunrise & sunset. We rented bikes and paddleboards. The bike ride to town was 15-20. To the west beach 5-10. Everything was there for a comfortable stay. I think we watched 10+ movies - so many in their library to choose from.

The location of this property was perfect! You have the best of both worlds, nice beach area on the bay side in front of place and less than 5 minute walk to the beach area on the gulf side. There was some wear and tear inside but that is to be expected. Very clean and comfortable, we would definately rent again.

Perfect location. Backyard is the bay and a very short walk to the beach.

Our family of 8 spent a week at the house this month. The location was perfect for just hanging around and enjoying the beach. We made good use of the kayaks and boogie boards! The house has a fantastic back deck looking into the Bay, and a large living/dining/kitchen area perfect for lounging and enjoying the view. We had one day that rained most of the time, and we still had plenty of space to relax with books and TV. Lots of swimming and walks on the beach. The Bay is the back yard, Gulf beach access is a 2 minute walk across the street. Very quiet area. The house is not fancy, but it is comfortable with two bathrooms and four bedrooms. We did not cook much, but there seemed to be plenty of pots and pans and utensils. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

Love Love loved our stay!
This was the perfect vacation house for my family. The inside of the house was clean, open, and bright. Rooms were a good size and the kitchen was great. It was so nice to have a laundry room on the property and the outside shower was a huge help, especially with the kids. The back porch was absolutely amazing and a great place to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. A quick walk will get you to the bay, which was an amazing area for the kids to play because the water was calm and shallow for a LONG ways out. A slightly longer, but under 5 minute, walk will get you to a beach on the gulf side that is tons of fun for everyone who likes to jump around in the waves. We enjoyed collecting sea shells on both beaches. This house really is perfectly situated. The property manager was awesome. Check in couldn't have been easier and the couple of small issues we had were handled super fast. Would recommend this house and property manager to everyone.

Reasonable, pet-friendly rental
The Kayaks property is in a great location with a beautiful view of the Mississippi Sound and a short walk to the gulf beach waves across the street. The home was clean and the layout worked well for our family of 5 and our pup. Loved the bright colors, big kitchen and covered deck! That said, the property is definitely in need of some repairs. The owner was kind, communicative and quick to respond to any issues during our stay. He is now aware of many areas in need of attention and hopefully preparing for future guests! We enjoyed the quieter, less busy environment on Dauphin Island. Just be prepared for fewer dining/grocery options nearby.

Great place to stay!
Wonderful location! Quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed mornings sitting on the back porch overlooking the Mississippi sound. Then we would head over to the beach for the day. About a 30 second walk across the street. Perfect for our family. I would definitely like to go back and stay.

Quiet and Relaxing... Loved having our dog on vacation
This is not a fancy, expensive rental.... however, it is perfect for a priced right, reasonable get-a-way with friends and family. The island itself is very quiet and does not have very many restaurants. We hit the grocery store and were able to enjoy using the big open kitchen. If you want more activity, you can take the ferry over to orange beach.

Great spot on the beach
This was the perfect place for us. Short walk out to our own little beach. The kayak's were added fun on the water. John was very responsive and helpful during our stay.

Loved it!
We loved our stay at Kayaks! And we LOVED being on Bayside because it was like having our own private sandy beach.
The kayaks and the grill included were huge bonuses and we used the kayaks daily.
It was a great house with a good layout. We'd definitely stay here again.

Amazing Getaway!!
We chose to celebrate a milestone birthday here and we loved the house. The owner is super nice and helpful and there was an issue that happened on the island of no fault of his but he immediately got to work to get the issue addressed for us. Mr. Reeves was so helpful and kind at every turn. The house and property are beautiful and fit our needs exactly. I have no complaints at all but if you choose to come here there are not a lot of food options but that worked out for me since I love to cook and was able to cook all week in the big kitchen! Also, there are no real stores super close so we were able to drop our bags off and go grocery shopping the first day so put that into your plans. Try the snocones at Island they are insanely delicious!

As described, plus surprises
The house is as pictured. The surprises came from the kitchen (stockpot for crawfish boil), DVDs (learning experience for the kids), and an empty beach. Neighbors on the left were doing construction (can't hear it from inside the house) and neighbors on the right were not there except for one day. This was the best experience of "Noone here." Kids also saw poles going into the ground for a new house across the street.
My gripes are: the sinks are low in the bathrooms, the knives are in a drawer, and the fridge dispenses water so slowly.
John (host) answered all my questions/concerns promptly. Would stay again.

Double The Fun
Being bay front on Dauphin Island is great. You get the best of both worlds. All the bay front activities (swimming, fishing, kayaks, etc) all day long. Then, the beach is only a short walk away (~500 feet) where you get the surf and the waves. When the red flags came out on the beach for 3 days in a row, our activities never stopped because we had the bay! Combine this with the wonderful attractions on the island (the Bird Sanctuary, historic Fort Gaines, the Estuarium, Shell Mound Park, etc.) and you have the perfect family vacation! We are grateful to you, John. Your house fit our needs perfectly.

Owner was very helpful correcting several problems I had upon arrival.
Property is good but the kitchen cabinets are a little worn and the finish work behind the sink was poor. Overall it was a great week and Mr Reeves the owner is real helpful and quick to respond to issues which is great. I would stay again.

Can't wait to stay again!
Had a great time, enjoyed by my entire family ages 4 to 67. The Bay access was great for fishing and the public beach was just across the street. Love the Island can't wait to go back!

Wonderful!
The space was perfect for our family of six! We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and the walk to the beach was very easy. The property was neat and clean, and the owner responded quickly to my concerns (what kind of coffee should I bring?😂). This was a wonderful experience for our first time on Dauphin Island!!

Wonderful House in Wonderful Location
I was looking for a remote spot to take my family for a beach vacation and this hit the spot. The house was bright and cheery and it was situated in the perfect location with the Sound of Mississippi on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. The owner was very responsive. And we would definitely love to go back.

Great Location!!
Our family and friends enjoyed our stay very much!! The location was PERFECT for us. The kids absolutely loved fishing and playing at the bay in the backyard. The beach was such and easy short walk. I loved that the beaches were not crowded at all. We came home with a lot of shells too. This was our first time at Dauphin Island and we will definitely be back!! Thank you so much!!

Great Vacation
We had a great time in your beach house. Our 2 families had plenty of room. Quick response when we had trouble with the dishwasher, showed up the next day with a new one and installed it.
Very nice to have the option to go to the bay side or the beach side. Fun kayaks and sand toys. Thanks for everything!

Location is Perfect
We adored our stay at Kayaks. The house had everything we needed with our large group, and plenty of communal space for cooking and socializing. The kids loved the tete-a-tete chair and stools on the porch, and I want one for my morning coffee at home! The kayaks were a huge plus for us as well, and many a sunburn was created spending time in them. The bay access was amazing for the little kids. A surplus of shells and rocks, plenty of space to spread out and build sandcastles... We felt like we were in a private paradise for sure. My only negative is that I would not say that the house sleeps 12 people “comfortably”, it only does if you use air mattresses on the floor. We definitely tripped over sleeping people before coffee was had more than once. But even that wasn’t enough to dampen our sunshine. We take all of our spring break and summer vacations to Dauphin Island, and Kayaks was absolutely one of our favorites!!
