Smaller cruise ship, service oriented staff, food was good but not great, but a variety of dietary restrictions were accommodated
Not specific to the property per se, but Halong Bay is overcrowded with ships and is full of trash
A shame to treat this natural wonder this way
An extra small up charge per guest could address the problem

The hospitality was exceptional! We were a family of 4 adults and 1 three year old child. Our parents are vegetarians and we had requested the cruise to help with vegetarian food for them. They exceeded our expectations. Not only did they have everything pure vegetarian for them, they had taken the effort to make a vegetarian version of each dish that they were serving to the rest of the guests. They were only 2 vegetarians on the boat and we didn’t expect that kind of customisation. Food on the cruise was delicious, service staff was amazing and extremely friendly. Our Cruise Manager Nico, serving staff - Henry, Ginnie, Mike - everyone was fabulous. Hannah, our tour customer service Spoc was delightful and super responsive. She even helped us with sightseeing at Hanoi, recommended spots and arranged a pick and drop for the cruise at a very short notice.
Overall the cruise was an experience that we would cherish for a lifetime. We recommended the cruise to our family members who are visiting in October and they have booked Orchid Trendy as well.
Keep up the amazing job team and thank you for having us.

The room was comfortable and clean. The staffs were wonderful, especially Emmanuel and Rose. Always there with a warm smile and ready to go above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. Their friendliness and attentiveness truly made me feel valued as a guest. My experience was fantastic, thanks to their exceptional service. I couldn't have asked for a better stay!
There was noticeable pollution around the bay, impacting the overall scenic experience. However, this wasn't the cruise's fault. The cruise itself was well-maintained, and the staff's dedication to guest satisfaction was evident throughout the journey.

Beautiful rooms, nice staff, excellent food. The bay is so amazing, kayaking to a hidden beach was the highlight of my holiday.
I got food poisoning on the ship (I was the only one though, so I guess just bad luck).

Boat was lovely. Room was great. Staff and director (Lilly) were great.
Kayaking around the islands and walking through the cave was fun
The day activity wasn’t organised that well. Biking on cat ba island was great however we stayed at this village for - while with nothing really to do.
Unfortunately there is a lot of rubbish in the water so not so inviting for a swim.
Got a lovely massage however there was no privacy to get change and masseuses we talking to whole time.

Dinner was amazing. Views were breathtaking. Very friendly staff.
Water from the shower was a bit too small. Floor can sometimes be a bit slippery.

Team of waiters and waitresses who were serving food and rinks were very amicable and hospitable. To
mention first experience, even it is a cruise (so called luxury) you will not board the boat at the port. They put you in a waiting lounge untill they gather all the people for several boats and it was overloaded and with no AC. Then they drive you on a speed boat to your cruise boat, and you have to wait forat they deliver other people to another boat and same on return. Boat and rooms didn’t resemble the ones from the photos. They were very dated, basic and far from any luxury. The food was very basic also. The boat goes to the harbour (nearby as they use the speedboat) every day to pick up new passengers so if you take 2 nights cruis you will be stuck next day in the same routine. Bathroom is moulded and dump, room is fitted with single beds (even it was meant to be a double) Boat entertainment is ridiculous, with maneger (not even a chef) is showing people how to roll vegetables in the rice pancake and make springrolls etc. Overal impression for a nearly 1000$ for two nights on this cruise is you don’t get even remotwly for what you have signed for…yet the worse was to come…
Paradoxically, with so well trained waitress team, on the contrary their on-board manager (and alleged host) was an utter dissapointment as a person and through his managerial role. On the other hand, his mistakes and disrespect he has shown, it is all not his fault, as he didn’thave what was needed for a position, and this is a much bigger mistake from people above him, upper managers and company owners. What we have experienced with this tour is disheartening. We have chosen a 2 night 3 days of the rather expensive cruise expecting an experience we would enjoy, but in return, we had a dirty bath robe in the closet when entering the room, than to realize that photos we either taken on the original first day of installment of the boat, or heavily photoshoped, as in reality it is quite dump. During our stay we didn’t have any towels changed, just to be approached by the abovementioned boat manager during the last brunch before departure, with an outrageous move, at the table (with people sitting next to us and around us) pulling out some dirty towel out of the black plastic bag and claiming it was ours and that we have to pay 10$ for it, as it is inrepearable how dirty it was (there were in fact few stains indeed, on a small towel like 20x30 cm or so). Disgusted with that move, i gave him 10$ but insisted that (now that I paid for it) I will keep the towel then…and after that the panic started. After several minutes he approached to us with an intent to retutn us 10$…obviously absolutely unable to understand how mich he has offended and embarassed my wife and me while pulling out his move in the dining room im front of the entire cruise members. Like I cared for the 10$…if it was even that dirty (and it were not, I still have it as it is originally, brough it with me and will dedicate a twitter and instagram account to my “Ha Long Bay cruise dirty towel” and will take it along myself to all my travel and.

This is truly a 5 star cruise experience. The cabins were spacious and beautiful. The boat is thoughtfully deigned. The staff made the experience phenomenal. They were consistently attentive and ensured that every detail was attended to. Ming, our Cruise Director, was top notch. I cannot say enough good about his service. He went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. He even had the boat drop us off at a different port and arranged for our ground transportation. Ming is amazing.

Pro’s
- Great staff onboard
- Varied and well prepared food
- Rooms with great views and well decorated bathrooms
- Cocktails very good quality
Cons
- Dirty hot tub.
- Very early starts for breakfast
- main issue was itinerary on day 2. the full schedule lasts 9 hours from 8am to 5pm. it’s a long day. the main issue with this was the communication. it was not clear we would be sat for 4 hours on a (not great) other boat. far from the normal cruise. this boat is not ideal for such a long time. if we’d have known, we would have stayed on the main cruise. the day trip consists of a one hour cycle, and one hour kayak. this is simply not enough to justify a full day trip, and ruins an otherwise great experience. there is no reason for this to be so long and so arduous.

Good points
Staff are friendly
Room has nice view
Bed comfortable
Nice shower
Fried spring roll making lesson
Food is very nice
Free tea, coffee & water in room only
Got on the cruise about midday, buffet lunch was served at 1pm then 2pm whisked off on the day boat for a hike 😂🤣 see below.
202 premier cabin 2nd floor
no fresh fruit in room as advertised
room is right next to restaurant, noisy with people walking past and staff laying the tables.
Day 1 Hiking trip is a boat ride in the day boat from the cruise boat to the island then a ride in a dirty old coach to the caves for about 20 mins then back on the coach and then back on day boat to the main boat not really a hike. Probably should have asked for more info.
Day 2 breakast is at 0645 till 0745 am & then its an 8am start on the day boat and you get back at 530pm😣 this includes 2 hour boat ride to get to village cycling round a village for 2 hours , lunch on the day boat then swimming & kayaking for 1 hour then a 2 hour boat ride back to cruise boat.
If you decide to stay on board the cruise boat staff play music very loud, staff shout at each other, In my experience it's not a very peaceful experience staying on the criuse boat ,I think I would probably go on the day trip next time even if I didn't want to.
The day boat they use for day trips with the kayaks on top sat outside restaurant & room 202 with the diesel engine running from 1045 till 12 noon so not peaceful at all & I had to shut the balcony door due to the fumes.
Diesel fumes can also be smelt in the corridor on the 2nd floor all the time.
All the boats park up together, the cruise boat doesn't really go any where on day 2, if you want to see anything you need to go out on the day boat at 8am.
Only cocktails & spirits are on happy hour.
You need to pay for tea & coffee with your meal it's not free.

The boat is very nice and really confortable. The service on board, as well as the food, is very good (even if the staff is pushing hard to make you purchase add ons which are not included in the price).
This trip was my wife’s dream: cruising in the Ha Long Bay.
Well, it is not a cruise: the boat leaves the harbor (actually, it is not in the harbor but a little further away) and then sails 3 hours to stop where the night will be spent, and then cruises back to the harbor.
Therefore , it is more a floating hotel than a cruise. If you do a 2 nights stay, you actually take a smaller boat for the day (much less confortable) and then sails to the main island to cycle and visit a local village (which is not interesting btw), then to move to a spot to do some kayaking and then to slowly go back to the main boat for the night.
I was expecting 3 days of cruise in the ha long bay, and for this, i have been highly disappointed.
That being said, the Ha Long Bay is really magic !

Absolutely gorgeous! Very fun, fancy and friendly. Their communication was flawless right from time of booking to the end of the trip. they arranged luxury private minivans for us and made sure everything was organised. The dining and service was amazing. We did great activities of cave hiking, kayaking, making spring rolls, and squidding, and our cruise manager was super friendly and fun. Not to mention the rooms were so beautiful!
4.4
It was such a lovely experience. We enjoyed it very much. The boat is beautiful and the rooms are stunning. it is a really luxurious experience.
4.4
very welcoming. spacious room. well fed.
The noise of engine room and diesel smell prevented use of external deck and made room unpleasant while engine running. paid extra for large private deck. get a forward room.
shepherded between transfer car to rest area not told about this visit- then an hour in the waiting room for boat.
cave trip on bus takes away from choosing a small boat.

We had the most amazing time on the orchid trendy! the boat and rooms are beautiful in a traditional style. The excursions were amazing and informative, with Halong Bay being the most beautiful places ive been. Our tour guides (David for day trip and another team menber for the caves) were fantastic with intersting insights about the bay, caves and people. The team made our stay special, with Happi making the stay so much fun and ensuring everyone was happy onboard! His honeymoon and birthday celebrations were amazing! Other team members including Peter, Harry and Lily were brilliant and ensured we had the most amazing time. The food was outstanding, with 5/6 courses both evenings and the team being able to cater to last minute food preferences (I dont eat Seafood). The cocktails were amazing, with so much care and attention and other activities like cooking courses being great fun, where you actually got involved and made the food! I could not recommend a trip to Halong Bay on the Orchid Trendy enough, the surroundings are unbelievable and the staff onboard really made our trip.
Cannot fault it! our stay was perfect

Well organized and comfortable, with a little bit of exploring

Excellent staff, great activities, tasty food, good people.
We celebrated a birthday which was amazing.
Fun and beautifull
The squid fishing does not reallt works although all the cruises offer it.

I honestly did not know what to expect when we booked this, as this was our first trip to Hanoi and on a cruise. Expectations were blown away. The boat is extremely comfortable, the bathroom with tub was beautiful (real Insta moment) and the staff were incredible. It was a great 2 night stay for everyone.
The food was great and a lot - too much at some points. They catered for vegetarians with ease.
Dinner was a set menu, and it was a lot of fo food however if you are travelling with kids who like Western food, it might be challenging.
4.4
The service was exceptional, and I really enjoyed conversations with the crew. Ha long bay is gorgeous and breathtaking. The boat was fantastic.
4.4
this is all the way like a 3 stars hotel. Staffs on the cruise are friendly but administrative staffs got big rooms for improvement in providing professional customer services.
it reaches the 3 stars hotel standard and is a bit tired. maybe worthy trying others as there are loads of choices
4.4
loved the location and staff who were exceptional and very attentive. the kayaking was great fun and the cycling trip to the village fantastic.
he boat is tired and we paid for the superior room which looked tired and lacked the luxury feel marketed on the website.
the evening food and lunch was lovely but the breakfast was limited.
4.4
Really well planned to make the most out of it.
4.4
please DO NOT BOOK FOR 2 NIGHTS!! this cruise is only for 1 night, 2nd night they will repeat everything again.. all the activities.
also even if you book by booking.com, they will not charge your card there, not inform you about it and upon arrival they will ask for all cash.. and obviously you’ll think you have paid it all through booking.com and you won’t have cash, then they will charge additional 3% for card payment. pure cheaters..
cruise is good with good facilities and good rooms, but they are cheaters, management is rude and they won’t care about customer service.
rude behaviour of the manager
4.4
welcoming, comfortable, incredible food and a lot of it! staff were so accommodating to my dietary requirements at the last minute and I didn’t even have to keep telling them
nothing to add here

This is an exceptional cruise. It was our second time on cruising Ha Long Bay and we did 3 days, 2 nights which I highly recommend as it's a more comprehensive schedule with better activities. Sunny was specifically attentive and the entire trip was a delight.
Be careful when booking with booking.com. I apparently have Genius Level 3 status, but on my laptop the price was reduced from over £900 to over £800. On my phone it said it was reduced from over £900 to over £700. However, when I asked my friend to look (who has Genius Level 1), their phone said it was reduced from over £700 to over £600. Needless to say, we booked it on her account.
I didn't enjoy children being onboard.

Super luxurious hotel on the sea, with a very very warm welcome on board. We had the 2 day 1 night trip and really enjoyed every minute on board.
Thanks to the excellent service of JK which anticipated every wish. And he also made great cocktails in the evening btw. Please keep on doing that great service.
Rooms are big, clean and comfortable, with a breath-taking view to the sea.
Food (lunch, dinner and breakfast) was delicious.
We highly recommend this trip, it so peaceful and relaxing.

The ship was comfortable, clean & it was very quiet
No door on the bathroom & the towels were small
