It was an amazing apartment, a great place to stay at an amazing location. The rooms were colourful, nice and clean. The host was really nice, responsive at all times and helpful!
No airconditioning, but it was fine because there were fans in every room.

This was a rare find. A beautiful apartment in the centre of one of the nicest Italian towns I’ve been to. We initially booked for 2 nights, ended up staying 2 extra nights and would have stayed longer if it wasn’t reserved for another couple. We were sad to leave, it was like a home from home. When you step outside you are a few paces from beautiful cafes and restaurants. The Duomo is essentially on your doorstep but the apartment is tucked away in the corner so it is quiet and comfortable. It is also an excellent location to explore the surrounding Tuscan countryside. In fact the town gets really busy with day-trippers from Florence and Siena so at around 10-11 am we often left to explore the countryside or other towns. However having a coffee in the morning at 8am you feel like you have this beautiful town to yourself. At night the people to stay nearby sit on the steps of the Duomo with ice cream. I’m not lying to say that staying in this town is idyllic.
The apartment itself is clean and tidy with great mod cons. Elda is a great host, she kept in touch on the phone before our arrival and during it. Make sure to follow her directions to the apartment and don’t rely on google maps because it is not very accurate.
Because the town is a limited traffic zone (ZTL) you are not allowed to drive up to the apartment so be aware that you will have to park outside the town walls (very safe to do so) and the walk up to the apartment with luggage can be quite arduous. But I wouldn’t let this put you off staying to be honest.

I misread the fact that the flat had air conditioning. Instead for air-conditioning we had fans that helped moving the air around and made the heat bearable, yet it was hard to sleep due to the heat wave that hit Italy during the days we were in San Gminiano.
no air conditioning.

The apt. is in the middle of the old town, close to everything. The host was very good and communicative, and provided ventilators to ease the heat. Was a very comfortable stay for a couple.
Could have added a few small touches, like a welcome drink or fruits, and nice soaps in the bathroom to make the stay even more enjoyable.

Very roomy apartment in excellent condition. This was my stop to do laundry halfway through my stay in Italy and it worked out great. There were strings outside the window to hang things to dry. The hosts had prepared a lot of information about the area for the guests in the room.

Casina di Elena is a wonderful place to stay in beautiful San Gimignano. It is full of charm and character and is in a great location for exploring the town. Elde was great at communicating and very helpful when I managed to get myself lost.
There was nothing I didn’t like about Casina di Elena.

The location was central to the city and provided a very easy walk anywhere you wanted to go. All of the amenities were clean and comfortable. The property manager Bianca was amazing. She personally welcomed us and gave us great restaurant recommendations. Bianca made our stay 100% better.

Nice, well equipped, very clean apartment. Fantastic location! Huge living room and good-sized bedroom. Gratis cold water in the fridge (thank you!) Good communication with the very kind host! Plenty of towels, comfortable bed! We really liked staying there.
The apartment was advertised with airconditioning, but there was only a fan, which we sort of understand as on historical buildings it is not easy to install such an equipment. We kept the windows closed during the day and opened them in the evening, therefore the flat became cool enough to sleep, however this way it was quite noisy but bearable.

2 night stay with the girlfriend - we had an exceptional time roadtripping, wandering san gimignano and doing a little cooking. Highly recommended.
Very hard to fault, superb stay. A little speaker to connect music too would have been appreciated, that's about it really. Oh, and the flat would have benefited from olive oil, vinegar and pepper (there was however about 5kg of salt). These are the only condiments that it really needed to complete the package. Typically with a flat like this, you would also normally expect a tiny bottle of complimentary milk to add to your coffee.

A lady (Rita) met us in the square to show us around. This was really helpful.
It was incredibly noisy! We were next to a school, resturant and a line of bins that were emptied early each morning. Kids were shouting all day so no way you could sleep in. Had to go out to get some piece and quiet.
The floor wasn't very clean with dust, fluff and someone elses old sock under the bed. We couldn't clean it ourselves as no cleaning equipment. So had to keep our shoes on to stop from getting dirty.
