Safari was amazing, both as a guide and a host. He went over and above to help organize activities across the duration of our stay. And the cuisine was wonderful.

Great stay. Incredibly large rooms. Comfortable bed. Clean towels . Lovely staff.
it would be nice to have something like a couch and a mirror.

The place is amazing, amazing architecture and the decor is nice too. The staff is very nice, Safari was very nice and made sure I was feeling comfortable, also Johnson was very kind!
I think the location, since you have to walk through certain streets that at night don't feel very safe and the surroundings are dirty because of trash and donkeys.

Amazing and patient owner, he took time to explain. The staff is nothing short of amazing and helpful. Their meals were sumptuous. I loved how the house has been made to match the culture. A mix of modern while maintaining the history and the rich culture and heritage of Lamu.
The trip was too short.

We had a very comfortable stay. The staff is very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The house is tastefully decorated and had what we needed to make our stay comfortable. The location is perfect for walks in the old town and along the channel, also very close to a variety of local food joints and the donkey sanctuary. We would definitely go back if we are looking at spending time in Lamu again. And I almost forgot to mention, the breeze at night with the windows open was gorgeous. We stayed in one of the King suites.

It was a lovely old building, well decorated to a high standard and with lots of character. It was within easy reach of the harbour (and boats) to explore Lamu. The staff were incredible and couldn’t do enough to make our stay memorable - we requested champagne on arrival for our Honeymooning guests, and a birthday cake later on - and these were no problem for Safari and the team.

The STAFF are exceptional. Rooms were spacious. Locals called it “the palace”. Everything was marble, high ceilings with fans. Pool was indoors…
having breakfast (to order)each morning was great. The staff,
Safari along with Johnson and Abu are exceptional and were the best part of Lamu for me. Helpful, respectful, kind, patient and knowledgeable!
The steps to our bedroom were tricky (and sometimes slippery) for 70 year olds to navigate. No handrails! Lamu town is an ancient town. Reminiscent of a trip to Morocco (Fez) in the 70’s. There are no cars but lots of donkeys that are depended on as helpers. Streets are really narrow alleys with litter and excrement.
The house is about 3 long blocks to the “main shopping street” and one more block to the waterfront. There are a lot of people actively vying for your tourist dollar.

This place is a treat! It's a beautiful location (surprisingly very quiet), and the building itself is beautiful. Most impressed by the staff though - especially how accommodating and humorous Safari was.
The room we had was advertised as having a seating area and private balcony. We had a desk, but only 1 chair. And no balcony & sea views. The big issue I had was with the heat and mosquitos - it would have been nice to have mosquito repellent device in the room as the net just did not work and I came back with a lot of bites! We couldn't get an upstairs room which perhaps would have been better as there was a sea breeze up there.

What a wonderful experience. We were collected by a wonderful gentleman, Safari from the dock and be helped carry our bags to the house. We were offered fresh cold towels on arrival to freshen up as well as freshly squeezed pineapple juice. What a treat!
The rooms are perfect and it felt like we were the only guests in the whole house. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning and on our second last day, had the most incredible lobster prepared for us by the chef.
My partner and I are ready to return to Andavelo House very very soon.
The WiFi was a little problematic but Safari made a plan for us in no time.

Loved Andavelo House! Safari and everyone who worked there was amazing. Cooked amazing meals for us, and helped us organize whatever we needed. Will definetely come back!
Pool was freezing cold, so didn't use it.

The authentic, classy house and the wonderful people. They spared no effort to make our first visit to Lamu memorable so much that we are now planning to go back.

The place is very nice and rooms are very big (ours was 50 sf). The toilet is very clean and the staff is super kind. Safari will provide you anything you need :) this is really a great solution to stay in Lamu.

The pictures don't do this house justice. It's everything and then some! The rooms are HUGE and absolutely stunning, especially the outside seating area. Some rooms have partial sea view. I stayed at Racha and it's a gem! The staff made my experience. Safari picked me up from Shela. He's ever smiling and goes out of his way to help. Johnson and Abu made sure my stay was comfortable and they were friendly and professional. The food was scrumptious. I thought finding my way back to the house would be tricky but it was pretty straightforward. If you're looking for a cozy home away from home in Lamu Town, don't pass up on Andavelo.
My stay was too short!

Thanks you to the staff Safari, Abou and Johnson for our stay, Safari pick us from the airport and care our suitcase and it wasnt light, bravo! Love my room, arabic, indian style love the view. Will probably send some of my clients to the property on the future.
The breakfast wasn’t at our convenience and lack of taste compare to what i had on other property, the wifi who was just accessible to check mail couldn’t make some research easily.
