About this house rental
Surf's up at this adorable second row beachside house! This spacious, open concept 3/2 has a fireplace and outside shower not to mention its just minutes from the beach! Community Pool and boat launch are all part of the City of Jamaica Beach!
The Alsup House is an open concept three bedroom, two bath house located second row beachside at in Jamaica Beach. The house hosts a king in the master, a queen in the 2nd bedroom and a 2 pyramid bunks in 3rd bedroom sleeping a total of 10. A fully equipped kitchen including pots, pans and dishes- just bring your food and seasonings. We offer Wi-Fi, basic cable and a charcoal grill. This house is perfect for business retreats or family vacations. Beach combing and sunbathing are the activities of the day at this vacation spot! Jamaica Beach offers a community pool and park.
Upon completing a reservation I will email you our rental agreement that explains check-in, check-out, what to bring and who to call.
What to bring: A. We do not furnish foods of any kind such as seasonings, condiments, etc., grilling supplies such as fluid, charcoal, personal soaps such as shampoo body wash, etc. or cleaning supplies such as dish soap, laundry soap, etc. B. A "starter" supply of paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, etc. are in each unit, the renter is responsible for additional products during their stay. C. Beach and Pool items: towels, chairs, umbrellas, sun block, repellents and toys!

House occupancy will not be exceeded.
Loud music and noise is prohibited.
All cars & guests will be registered with the rental office at check-in, and all cars will be parked in the driveway.
When parking cars on the street, vehicular traffic will not be impeded. Posted street signage (speed limits, parking) will be obeyed.
Cars will not be parked on lawns or in a neighbor’s driveway.
Vehicles will not be driven or parked anywhere where not allowed. Motor homes, campers and tents are prohibited and may not be parked or hooked up at rental homes.
Only people with a valid driver’s license may operate a golf cart. Police will issue tickets.
Non street-licensed vehicles (such as 4 wheelers, go carts, dirt bikes, scooters, ATVs, etc.) are not permitted anywhere on Galveston Island. Barbeque grilling on decks is strictly prohibited; it is a fire hazard.
RAIL WARNINGS- It is extremely important that all guests be aware to never place weight on the railings. We encourage caution and awareness when on decks and balconies. Bolts can become compromised due to the corrosive nature of the saltwater climate in Galveston.
Hanging or throwing items from balconies is prohibited.
Only registered pets are allowed in SOME rental homes and a $75 non-refundable fee has been collected. Leash laws must be obeyed at all times.
While boating, “No Wake” rules in the canals will be obeyed.
At canal homes, fishing lights must be turned off when not in use.
The property is NON-SMOKING. Smokers will smoke outside and dispose of butts properly.
Fish will be cleaned where caught. The remains will be carefully wrapped in plastic bags and placed in outdoor trash cans.
Help keep Galveston clean! Garbage will be put in securely tied plastic bags and placed in the trash bins provided.
In the case of a mandatory evacuation, Guests agree to evacuate homes as per City of Galveston orders.
In the case of evacuation, the decision to re-enter the house is solely that of the Property Mgt. Company.
Seaweed cannot be relocated on the beach without a permit. However, clearing a pathway to the water with a hand rake is allowed.

Awesome house. Barely one block from the beach. We are arrived and the checkin process was fine. The house was clean and cute. The door locks were a little difficult to work. But I got the hang of it. Rental company is very responsive. Highly recommend!

House was just as described. Very roomy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Was a busy Memorial weekend but the state park was just a short distance away that we walked to and basically had the beach to ourselves. Loved everything about it.

We had a great time at this property. It was four houses down from the beach access. We walked to the beach at the beginning of the day and did not feel like it was a burden to walk home mid day for lunch. The home was very nice. We slept in every bed in the property and all were comfy. the bathrooms were good. Shampoo and conditioner was provided. kitchen was good. Bring your own ice.

Great location
Amazing location and views! Inside was much more spacious than the pictures show. And the bed in the master was so comfortable! We loved how close to the beach it was and loved the two French doors. They were a little tricky, but are very solid and have a great locking system once ya figure out how to use it. Also Jamaica beach is a really neat little community and the residents were friendly. Only negative things I saw wrong were each bathroom had a little damage from previous renters which didn’t bother us. Somethings can’t be fixed in time between renters, and it’s not like a hotel with 20+ rooms they can switch you if somethings wrong. And just like with every rental beach house I’ve ever had, there were a few ants who tried making their way in.
Overall, We had a blast and are already planning our next beach vacay!

Friends on the beach
Six older adults gathered at the house for two nights. The house was very pleasant and well equipped. We all liked the floor plan with the large open living room and kitchen combo. We found the outdoor shower very convenient after returning from the beach. The beach was an easy walk - a block from the house. We loved sitting outside on the deck and could indeed see the waves between the houses in front.
The one thing we had difficulty with was the french doors. It took us awhile to figure out that we needed to lock the fixed door so that they did not blow open. We understood how to lock the opening door and just did not apply that to the other one. (I hope this makes sense. I share it because we had to figure it out.)

We had the best time! The house was perfect size and just one street from the beach, had all necessities needed, just need to bring extra tp,paper towels and paper plates if you want. And your own towels. We will absolutely be visiting again.

Great location and wonderful beach house
Great house and easy communication and check-in. Bigger than we expected from the pictures. This is a street back from the beach which is perfect since you can drive on the beach and other people would be parked in front of your house if you were right on the beach.

Excellent place to stay!
Property is exactly what I expected. We didn’t spend much time there, mainly to sleep. Clean house and amazing location close to shops and the beach of course. I would absolutely recommend staying here and coming back. Only issue is the shelf in the fridge was broken and when I placed the milk on it, the jug fell out and spilt milk. Didn’t affect my stay at all though.

Great location, but could use a few extra things
The house was very clean, and the access to the beach was amazing. The house could use a few extra things. We ended up buying a grill brush for the grill, night lights, a hammer to fix a few nails, dish towels and cloths, and some storage containers and plastic plates for our kiddos.
It’s not the most kid friendly place for toddlers. There are bunk beds and the ladders don’t come off, the fire place has stone that has jagged edges and everything is glass (drinking glasses, plates and bowels.
The patio view is amazing and has a large picnic table.
The community pool is also the city pool and it’s not close to the house. It’s on the other side of the highway.
If you have never been to Jamaica Beach, make sure you go grocery shopping before hand because the Walmart and Kroger are a good 20 minute drive.
I would recommend buying new comforters for the beds, and buy plastic plates and cups to make it more kid friendly.
The gate to the patio needs some TLC.
The beach was amazing and we all very much enjoyed the stay.
Even though it’s close to the highway it was very quite.

Very clean upon arrival other than window sills and mini blinds. Really nice and large kitchen living area. Beds were very comfortable, but it would have been nice to have a ceiling fan in the room that sleeps 6. The railing of the upper deck is not child safe at all. Many of the spindles are not secure including several on the stair railing. The kitchen is very well supplied, including large pots, platters and casserole dishes. We were not supplied enough bath towels for our group and we were not at capacity for the unit. There is a washer/dryer.

Super Easy
I booked this trip as a last minute surprise to celebrate my daughters 13th birthday with a few good friends. Truly the easiest trip ever! From check-in to grabbing last minutes staples from the stores just around the corner. We had all the necessities of home, but most of all the ease and convenience of going back and forth to the beach feeling safe enough to allow a bit more independence for the new “teens”.

The house is roomy and quaint. Jamaica Beach allows cars on it but the pocket beach adjacent to Jamaica Beach has 1.5 miles of to set up for the day or take a nice walk. Also a nice coffee shop near by.

Nice house loved all the windows...second row with beach views... street front to the left to the beach path ...we walked to the state park side where no cars are allowed...it was great with four children.

Great House
I stayed here several months ago for a bachelor party. When the Governor lifted the stay at home order the wife and I decided to head down. The house has very easy access to the beach. I also love how it’s far enough away from town to avoid the crowds, but also close enough to go do stuff without a long drive. Will definitely stay again.

Not what I expected
So, this property was not as clean as I would have liked. There was a fine layer of dust on many of the tables and no cleaning supplies with which to clean anything. I was very surprised by this as most of the reviews were glowing. However, when I went back to look, I noticed the most recent review had been Aug 2018. I contacted the property manager who was extremely responsive. She offered to send a cleaning crew out. The pots and pans need to be replaced as some of the teflon was coming off. I recommend the property manager just not the property.

When I originally clicked on this property it said "from $270 per night" and I read all the reviews and it sounded like a great place to stay. So I went through the forms to reserve it and by the time I was done it said it would be $900 per night. I thought maybe I had made a mistake and booked too many nights or something, But I hadn't. I almost didn't book it but I just hoped it would be worth it. We had a really fun weekend and there were a lot of fun things about the house and the location, but it is by far the most overpriced place we have ever stayed. The home is older and is showing its age in several places (duct tape on the kitchen floor holding tiles together, a slat missing on the outdoor banister, the floor sagging beneath the master toilet, stains all over the refrigerator door). Plus, there were no beach towels or toiletries provided (which made for a lot of extra stuff for us to pack for our family of 8). Also, the home instructions said we had to sweep all the floors, strip all the beds, and take out all the trash before we checked out. We have stayed all over the world and this was twice as expensive as any other place we have stayed, and other places offered far more amenities. I was really baffled as to how it was so expensive. I would love to come back to it and recommend it to friends because we really had fun, but I just can't. It's not worth its price.

We arrived on Friday night and the AC was out. We slept for a total of two hours that night. The AC techs finally came out on Saturday afternoon to fix the problem. We asked if we could get reimbursed for Friday night and we were told that they would see what they could do but normally they did not reimburse people. Other than that, we had a great weekend and enjoyed the home. It fit everyone comfortably.
