Exceptional

Very friendly service. We had a lovely clean room the breakfast was one of the best we have had for a long time. The views are amazing with a lovely pub next to it that serves nice food and drink. We will be coming back

The breakfast was very good and the staff great, nothing was too much trouble,on both of our 2 day's stay

We had a very good room and we both had a wonderful stay and if anything we would have liked the bathroom to be a little larger

Delicious breakfast after a very comfortable night in a lovely room.

Very comfortable bed and pillows. Large airy room. Bedroom and bathroom very clean. Delicious and varied breakfast. Friendly host. Amazing views.

Couldn't think of anything. Our two night stay was very enjoyable.

Luxury accommodation with fabulous views

Comfortable accommodation with fabulous views as up high on a ridge. Andrew the host was very friendly and the cooked breakfast was great. Room was spacious and clean with a good shower. Luxious towels and a huge bed which was comfortable. Very quiet. Would recommend the pub next door for evening meal. Adequate car parking space.

Only the pub next door within walking distance. Not near any shops but a short drive into the village.

Wonderful relaxing stay, can't wait to come again.

Andrew the host was most helpful and pleasant. Room was spotless and the bed super comfy, breakfast delicious, good choices, gardens peaceful and relaxing stay. Views were absolutely stunning and location quiet and peaceful even though next door to Barrel Inn which served good tasty food. Walks right on doorstep, excellent location.

Nothing. The views from the room are so stunning that I personally would have put the bed on the other wall and the sofa where the bed was to enable you to sit and enjoy the view all year round through the french doors, even in the cold and rain, you could sit there for hours - forget the TV! As it was lovely weather we took advantage of the view from the garden and sat outside, very relaxing. The wardrobe is far too big, only need one half the size but the sofa in the room very comfortable. A truly gem of a place, will be back for sure.

Marvellous breakfast - with some unusual (and very tasty) options. Beds comfy, spacious room , even has a separate little room for fridge and kettle .

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday break and even the weather was kind.

The location was beautiful, the room and facilities excellent and Andrew the host friendly and informative about local places of interest. Breakfast was outstanding.

Neither of us can think of a negative thing to say.

Spectacular location and warm hospitality.

The main reason to stay here is the spectacular location high on a ridge between the Dark and White Peak District. The superb Barrel Inn is a bonus and is only a few steps from the accommodation.

Excellent B & B in stunning location.

Interesting location. Excellent variety of food offered for breakfast. On site parking. Barrel Inn opposite as we went there for dinner.

More ventilation in room.

Lovely place to stay with awesome views (weather permitting!)

Awesome place - amazing views and a large size room - I was on the ground floor and I think the floor above was even bigger! Great breakfast and friendly host with good recommendations for dinner - the Bull's Head in Foolow was particularly good

Bit of noise from the room above but to be expected in old buildings

lovely impromptu break, great hospitality

excellent location, breakfasts and v friendly and helpful hosts

WiFi in room too weak to stream and TV too small/far away to watch… wouldn’t have mattered as we were there to get away from it all, but around NY wanted to watch a bit TV around midnight

Excellent

Loved the location right next door to the Barrel inn pub which did lovely evening food, accommodation was great lovely big king size bed so comfy, breakfast was great plenty of it. Andrew and Karen was brilliant hosts, great location for exploring will definitely be returning
