Fantastic woodland cabin to explore the highlands from

Cosy, clean, comfortable. Location great.

Took me a few attempts to work out the heating. Pot holes on approach road were painful.

Nice lodge

Nice and clean lodge, in the middle of the woods (so good to arrive with daylight). The cosy small town of Strathpeffer is closeby and there are plenty of beautiful hiking options in the area. When we had a problem with the heather, we only had to make a quick call to the owner to get it working again.

The lodge is located between other lodges at close distance.

Marvelous!!

Lodge is in the beautiful forrest. Kitchen is really well equipped. Rooms are lovely. Birds comes to the terrace. Perfectly silent and nice. Shop is in the Square, almost 15-20min on foot. Nice restaurant and cafe, Deli, everything is there. We visited an amazing Ardival harp near castel Roed. Everything is lovely.

We had difficulty about heater thing. Timer set was wrong (by previous customer I think) we frozen in summer time. Owner came quickly and fixed. Still there're 2 "not working" heater. We needed heater in late August. I wonder how it goes in winter time...

Disappointing

It was not very clean. It needs renovation. Sofas are old and dirty. There was mould on the wall. The floor was dirty in some places. Dust all over. Poor communication with the owner and no instructions where to find everything. Cottage was left open yet no one lets you know. Somone came to clean windows while we where already there.

Beautiful retreat to connect with loved ones.

Our little family fully enjoyed this break. The photos on the web site do not do this property justice. Such a gorgeous little cabin tucked away in a magical woodland full of bird life. Incredibly clean on arrival. Host really cares for the renter, We had the cabin in February around Valentine’s Day and were welcomed with a selection of a valentines sweets (which the kids enjoyed). stunning location, great cabin, all you need for a break.

Simply blissful and relaxing.

Everything was clean and tidy upon arrival. We loved the bird feeder hanging outside the window and the all-around quietness. There was plenty of crockery and utensils in the kitchen, we were not left wanting for anything.

Would have appreciated some area trail maps and info readily available. Also, a stronger wi-fi would have made things a lot easier for our downtime. Some candles/lanterns for when sitting outside in the evening would be a great addition.

lovely place and lovely setting.

this is our second stay at rowan lodge. love the location and the setting. lovely log cabin in the woods.

no wifi and bath took a while to run but both didn’t affect our holiday or put us off rowan lodge.

Overall Rowan a basic nice cabin

Quietness. Overall cabin was nice but few things need fixed ie better attention to cleaning I suffer from Asthma and behind bedside cabinets thick with dust and spider webs. In single bed room sweetie wrappers allaround mirror. However overall did not distract from an enjoyable break. Would like to try out a bigger cabin with possibly two toilets

On arrival no heating and it was freezing. Although I text owner next day and she was right up to fix. Previous holiday maker had taken card for WiFi so could not get code unless contacting owner. Bedroom and bathroom not properly cleaned,someone had loosened fitting under bathroom sink now owners fault. No parking near the cabin had a female who had difficult walking and used two crutches.i myself had to use two walking sticks. So parking next to cabin would be ideal.

Location, in the middle of a wood with nice walks on the doorstep. Well equipped, washing machine very handy. Good storage and area for wet stuff after a walk (this is Scotland....). Well located for local attractions and good hikes. Sweets on arrival.

Living area, esp kitchen / dining table is quite small.
