About this cottage rental
Cottage #4 was completely renovated for my personal use and never intended as a rental. Well a move to the West Coast changed all that. So…Cottage #4 has everything I love and wanted in a cottage, a big kitchen designed for a cook.. with great appliances, great pots and pans, good knives, big gas stove, Bosch dishwasher, redwood counters, and an old soapstone sink. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, large window and skylight. The bathroom is beautiful, but the outdoor shower is all you will use. There is a big screen porch overlooking a private yard and wooded wetlands. There is cable TV (flat screen), and high speed internet. Its a spacious cottage perfect for two people. Just 2 miles to the national seashore beaches and a a short walk to beautiful Fort Hill and views of Nauset Marsh. My past guests have all said how much they feel at home in the cottage...and never want to leave.

Just wrapped up our fifth visit to Michael’s cottage. And yet again, we enjoyed every minute of it. We spent most of our time on the screen porch - can’t imagine spending time anywhere else, honestly, though the rest of the cottage is comfy. New furniture in 2024 is super. Especially the new living room chair.
Kitchen is very well equipped - newer appliances, ample and attractive tableware, better than average pots and pans, generous house supplies.

We had a wonderful time in cottage. It was great to have a cooks kitchen. We used it daily.

beautiful cottage, immaculate and wonderful location. Everything you need is there - the best cottage I've ever rented on the cape and I've been going there for decades

This is a wonderful Cape Cod cottage, cozy and roomy at the same time. A perfect spot from which to visit all our Cape Cod favorites. We did the Fort Hill hikes which are gorgeous and a little off the grid, so not too crowded in the busy summer months. We loved the screened in porch for morning coffee and dinner. Beautifully decorated, had everything we needed. Can’t say enough good things!

Wonderful stay would definetly recommend.

Secluded, but close to all that is great about the Cape, especially the National Seashore. A few feet from the historic Capt. Penniman house and one of the most scenic easy hikes on the Seashore- Fort Hill Trail. And only minutes from the NSS beaches, including pur favorite- Herring Cove. Plus, so many good restauants, antique stores, local concerts and festivals, and even a drive-in theater! We had a wonderful week full of fun, surf, hiking, and adventure. With a comfortable living room and screened in porch, we also enjoyed hours of relaxation and reading.

Beautiful private quaint cottage, felt at home!

We spent a long weekend at the cottage, and it was lovely. We love the proximity to Provincetown, as well as to nice places in Eastham and Orleans. There are wonderful walks to be taken without crossing Rte. 6, too. And the cottage is perfect for us. We had ideal weather for using the screened-in porch this time. We can't wait to return soon.

We love this cozy little cottage! it was our 2nd stay here. We hope to come back for years to come. sweet little kitchen, airy screened porch, all the amenities needed, and authentic and tasteful decorations. The proximity to Fort Hill and the beaches makes this the perfect location. Sunsets at First Encounter beach (just 8 minutes away) We explored the Nauset marsh trail, the White Cedar trail, went to PTown, and the Birdwatcher's store in Orleans. We saw seals at the Chatham Fish Pier and sanderlings at Forest beach. We WILL be back!

This is our second time renting this cottage in the early fall. It is well maintained and charming. The location is close to beaches, and Eastham has a lot to offer. We have stayed in a number of places in this area, and this is our favorite.

I am a repeat visitor to Michael's cottage, always a great place to stay.

Very nice cottage. Spacious for 1-2 people. Nice yard, pretty good privacy. Nice Asian/zen decor. I like to stay here for its proximity to the rail trail. I do a lot of biking. Nice to hike Fort Hill which is right next door. Wonderful proximity to Orleans and all the amenities there. I pick Eastham given the ability to travel to Chatham, Provincetown, and being close to wonderful beaches (Nauset, Coast Guard, Marconi).

Our third? Fourth? Visit at Cottage #4 was as pleasant as ever. NICE new furniture - new chair and living room layout this year - and a new dishwasher. And, as always, the screen porch is awesome. Thanks, Michael, for another great Cape experience.

This is our third stay at Michael's and it was just as wonderful as before - there's even a new couch, comfy reading chair and impressive human-height mermaid as decor! It was our first summer visit so we especially enjoyed using the porch and outdoor shower. We enjoyed the convenient quiet location, beautiful daily walks with our dog up to the Fort Hill marsh, and having everything on hand that we needed. If I could have my own cottage someday, I'd want it to look just like this one.

Extremely comfortable and well suited to great weather as well as not so great weather. New couch and recliner were a nice upgrade and very comfy.
The kitchen is well equipped and the Weber grill a bonus. Fort Hill walk is part of our yearly ritual at the cottage. Best host ever !

We loved this unique cottage, with it's interesting and tasteful decor, well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. The screened porch with birds and trees just outside was such a plus. We took walks to Fort Hill with our doggie right up the road, lovely! The yard was spacious and private. Only downside was the traffic sound from Rt. 6 nearby but not a game changer to coming back. We would highly recommend!

The cottage was perfect for two, well-equipped, quiet, comfortable, and wonderfully located. The owner was responsive and welcoming. Perhaps because we were a last minute reservation, the cleaning may not have been up to usual standards, although this was a matter of small things, not the overall condition of the cottage. We enjoyed ourselves a lot.

We enjoyed our stay at Michael’s Eastham cottage. Even though we have visited that area several times in the past, we still found Michael’s information helpful concerning sites to visit and places to dine or take out. The location near Fort Hill is exceptional. We walked or drove to the hill parking lot each day. The Yard is well kept and very quiet. We were able to walk our leashed dog in the area with no problems. The renovations were contemporary and unique. The TV and cable choices were very good. The bedroom was comfortable , and the living room and bathroom were more than adequate for the two of us. Michael likes to shop for the unusual and we share his love of antiquity. The cottage is decorated with paintings, eclectic furniture and lamps and a wooden mermaid….it was fun. Unfortunately the weather was very cool for most of our stay so we did not use the screened porch or outside grill. We experienced the usual Spring arrival of a few ants on the floor and we found a few droppings from some winter visitors (mice). Overall it was a very good stay and we would certainly consider renting the property in the future.

This was our third stay here, and it was as wonderful as before. The cottage is perfect for us, and we have grown to love the location. It's handy to everything we might want to do. We can't wait to return.

This is our 2nd trip to the cottage. It’s a great little place, central to everything we like to do, and very comfortable. We are always happy for a few days on the Cape!

We loved staying here the couple days before our wedding. It was just the quiet and peacefulness that we needed before the chaos of a wedding. Only bummer was bring our own linens. It wasn’t in the listing so we saw the email last minute in the drive up form NC so we had to stop and buy some.

AS ALWAYS, CLEAN COMFORTABLE AND RELAXING.
THANKS AGAIN

Perfect size cottage for 1-2 people. So clean and has all the conveniences, especially in the kitchen. Has a beautiful screened in porch for dining. So quiet and peaceful, yet close to Route 6. Can walk to and hike Fort Hill, as well as bike the rail trail. Enjoyed it thoroughly!

We truly enjoyed this sweet little cottage. It was clear that Michael put much thought into the artful decor and furnishings, not to mention the fabulous and super functional kitchen. It felt like home. There is much to love about this cottage and the location -- especially its proximinity to Fort Hill; however, our only issue (minor) was the proximinity to Rte. 6 (loud, even in October), and the fact that Fort Hill is closed to dogs (which we had not known, but completely understand, and you will see why once you hike the trails -- which is a must, just not with your pup). If you want to be able to step out the front door to take your dog on a long walk to explore the surroundings, options are limited (basically only one short residential street close by). The location, otherwise, is great for easy access to stunning ocean and bay side beaches and trails, and dining and shopping in both directions, but with the exception of Fort Hill, everything else must be reached by car. Despite our minor issues with the location, we were only here for four days, and wish it could have been longer. Thank you, Michael, for accommodating our short stay.

This is my favorite spot to stay when visiting the Cape, very convenient location, a short walk to the beach and the Penniman House. The cottage is lovely and very comfortable. Thanks, Michael!

Pretty cute small cottage. Loved the screened-in porch which added some space. If you’re into cocktails, it’s well equipped. Minimal space to unpack suitcases and such. Nice large backyard. The Fort Hill area nearby is amazing and has nice trails and magical views. The host is very helpful.
The location on the „wrong side“ of route 6 is tricky. We had to cross it multiple times each day by car and by bike. Even with the car, a left turn is very tricky - the visibility is problematic. There is actually an on-demand traffic light, but shockingly, many drivers will run the red light at full speed while you have the „walk“ sign. Happened 7 times out of the first 8 times we used it, less later. Someone, probably a child, will get killed some day, I fear.

Michael, we had a great two weeks at the cottage! As always, we spent more time on the screen porch than in the house. But the new couch is a great addition/upgrade. Not only is it more comfortable, I think it works even better in that room from a design/space perspective. My husband says it’s an excellent napping couch :) As always, appreciate the super timely responses to my inquiries and “hey, where can I find the…” questions. Hope to be back next year.

This was our fourth year in this lovely cottage. We love it and its convenience to National Seashore beaches as well as the view from up the road on Fort Hill.
Will return next year !

Wonderful week in Eastham
The cottage is very nice and perfect for two. The screened porch is wonderful for morning coffee, afternoon cocktails and dinner.
As others have mentioned, there is the hum of Rt 6 that is noticeable especially with sirens and large trucks. However, the cottage is on a quiet street with not a lot of local traffic. Close proximity to beautiful Coast Guard and Nauset Light Beaches.

The house is lovely
It’s very nicely appointed and has everything one would need. The mermaid in the bedroom took a little getting used to ;). Great access to the rail trail.
