This is a lovely ground floor one bedroom apartment in an unbeatable location! The apartment is on beautiful A Street SE just seven blocks from the Capitol (and the National Mall) and within walking distance to all D.C. has to offer. You are just a couple blocks from all of the restaurants on Pennsylvania Ave. and Barracks Row. The apartment was just completely renovated and has an industrial feel - -- exposed brick, large new bathroom with marble tile and walk-in rain shower, all new furnishings, etc. The apartment is on the ground floor of a large Victorian house - and has its own entrance through a door that is on the side of the house. The apartment has an open floor plan with the main living area housing a large couch, chairs, and 50 inch HDTV (cable, Roku, etc.) There is a RH rustic dining table and chairs which seats four and galley style kitchen with stainless refrigerator and appliances, stove top/oven, dishwasher, etc. There is also a full-size washer-dryer in the unit.

This was our first time in DC and we just loved the Eastern Market neighborhood on the hill! The apartment was well appointed and so close to food, sites and the metro. Would love to stay here again.

This apartment was located within a 5-10 minute walk of restaurants, a grocery store, and the Metro, which made it extremely easy for us to commute to all of Washington DC’s museums and attractions. On top of that, Trader Joe’s, the Fresh Market, and CVS were across the street from the Metro, so this made it convenient to pick up food and drinks whenever we needed anything. Now, for the apartment…it was very clean and neat, bright, and stocked with everything to wash clothes, take a shower, cook a meal, watch tv, and so on. Also, the bed, sheets, and pillows were very comfortable. Before we arrived, the Host communicated with us, and she answered all of our questions. It was a privilege to stay in this apartment! Thank you!

We had a truly relaxing vacation and it was nice at times to stay in and cook. Very comfortable beds.

If you want to experience D.C. like a local, away from all of the hustle and bustle of downtown, then this is a great place for you. We loved the neighborhood that this VRBO was in and how everything we needed was in walking distance including a metro stop, Trader Joe’s, the Eastern Market, and coffee shops. The apartment was nicely furnished with everything we needed for our stay and communication with the host was perfect.

Our unit was very clean, comfortable and within walking range of restaurants, metro station, Capitol, Smithsonian museums and memorials. Our host was very accommodating and gave us lots of information. She even left Metro cards for us to use! Would use this place again!

This was a wonderful place to stay
The neighborhood was great. The host had thought of everything we might need. Such a cute apartment. Very comfortable.

We enjoyed this VRBO for it's size, conveniences and location. We loved the farmer's market, the metro and several local restaurants. We also had great communication with Sarah.

This was a great rental experience. It's conveniently located to Eastern Market with a nearby Metro stop and many shops/restaurants. The apartment was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, well-equipped, and filled with thoughtful touches (e.g., detergent, coffee, spices, toileries, maps/brochures) that we did not expect. The host was helpful prior to arrival (e.g., she arranged a free parking pass) and available for questions during the weekend (though we had none, as everything was clear). Thank you for making this an easy and pleasant experience.

Beautiful apartment on a nice, quiet street. Lovely furnishings and a comfy bed. Kitchen had all the amenities. Easy walk to coffee and groceries.
Bathroom was great with georgous tile, and big walk-in shower. Apartment was spacious- we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We have been to DC many times over the years but never to this part of town. The rental is very close to everything you need. The owner provided a Smart trip metro card that was very helpful. Adding $ was easy. Pleasant experience.

We were so happy we stayed here! The neighborhood is quiet and the apartment is close to everything. The most important thing is how comfortable our stay was. The apartment is cozy and warm and we didn’t want to leave! It was wonderful!

My husband thoroughly enjoyed his stay here for a nearby conference. I will have to join him next time!

This property was perfect. Well located — a short walk to the Supreme Court and the National Mall— and good proximity to restaurants/grocery etc. Lovely space— a basement apartment but big windows in the living area let in light. Hosts thought of practically EVERYTHING. A long document helping navigate the apartment, list of TV stations, a stack of carry out menus, etc. The linens/pillows/towels were excellent quality, there were toiletry basics (shampoo, lotion, q-tips, etc), a well-stocked kitchen with coffee AND tea (we tea drinkers are so grateful!), Splenda/sugar, metro passes and a Frommers guide to the city. We were greeted with fresh flowers and Chocolates, wow! The HVAC is tricky but hosts were very patient with us. Very quiet neighborhood, we slept well. THIS IS MY BEST VRBO EXPERIENCE BY FAR. I can’t say enough about this property and these hosts. Thank you!

What an amazing place to stay. So close to everything, perfect accommodation. Just awesome.

This lovely apartment was perfect for the two of us. The quaint neighborhood was both safe and friendly. Stores and restaurants in walking distance. The apartment is spacious and well supplied with everything needed for cooking and such. Even bags of Trader Joe’s Coffees and various teas. Seems like the place has been fairly recently renovated. We didn’t rent a car and used that money to take Ubers everywhere, which were reasonably priced and driven by excellent, interesting drivers. (One could easily bike it to the National Mall and museums, if so inclined). The bed was great. We slept well after all that walking! My wife and I would stay here again, and we gladly recommend this VRBO apartment to everyone. Frank

This was a first time trip for us to the DC area. We came from MT to explore the area and see all of the sites. We were not disappointed. The apt was perfect for our home base. It was well furnished and very comfortable. It is located in a great area where we felt safe walking and it was easy to catch an Uber. There are many great restaurants in the neighborhood and Sarah provided an extensive list of recommendations in which we visited some and were never disappointed. We would highly recommend this home to any couple or individual interested in visiting the area. We would definitely stay again if we return to DC. It was a great week.

Wonderfully quiet, well kept, clean apartment with off-street parking in Capital Hill which is super close to Eastern Market and Metro. Great location to visit all museums and other DC highlights. Sarah was great to work with!!

Very close to the Capitol building and we were able to walk everywhere or take the bus. Unfortunately, we did not discover the Eastern Market until our last day. It was a great place for food and only 1 block south of the apartment.

Great place to stay when visiting D.C. Really comfortable accomodations. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Able to walk to the Smithsonian museums and the monuments.

The rental was just as described. It was perfect for me and my husband. We walked over to Trader Joe’s the first day and bought everything we needed for breakfast. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Having a parking spot was a great perk. The neighborhood was very nice I would stay again! Thank you.

Three short blocks from Metro station and stores, including Trader Joes and CVS near the station. Parking slot was ideal. We had trouble with AT&T iPhone reception inside the unit (reception went flaky on moving through the door). Maybe Verizon service would have been better.

The property was just as pictured and perfect for what we needed. Very comfortable and quaint. This is definitely on the list for a revisit.

The property is accurately described and pictured. The neighborhood is within walking distance of museums, monuments and numerous restaurants. The hosts are great communicators. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend to my friends and family.

The property was very nice, accessible ( one floor and walk in shower ) cheery and we’ll-eqipped throughout. Not only did the kitchen container many extras that other VRBO properties have not, there were above and beyond extra touches, e.g. bath sheets, just towels ,extensive toiletries, coffee, off street parking,+ only VRBO property where owner went out of way to meet us very graciously.

Great location with friendly neighbors. Walking distance to the Capitol Building, but one should opt for the subway. The Metro is only 2 blocks away and the attendants are helpful. Thanks for a nice play to stay, Sarah. The unit was clean and well equipped.

It’s always difficult to select a home base when planning a vacation to a new city. This is partly because of unfamiliarity with the area. In DC, we knew we had to carefully select a great location since our walking and touring would depend on this. Without a doubt, we made an excellent choice! After a week long visit, we would absolutely recommend THIS location and THIS property. Eastern Market area is lovely and allowed us to stroll around during the evening and/or easily find places to eat. Grocery shopping is literally 1 block away at the market itself and Trader Joe’s is a 5 min walk through a quaint cobblestone town. On days our tours took us a little further out, we used Uber. Super easy and usually $10. The unit and the host were wonderful. Thank you Sarah for offering such a lovely stay.

This is kind of a basement apt with its own entrance. Very clean. The owners live above apt and are very responsive ! We stayed for 30 days and loved it. The bed is very comfy and more on the softer side. Has a beautiful shower in the bathroom with lots of storage. Has a full kitchen with pots and pans and a big refrigerator. We did not have a car. The apt is a 5 minute walk to Eastern Market subway stop! This is a dream location for touring DC like we did. Lots of close restaurants and a Trader Joe’s for groceries. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and highly recommend! Sarah the owner is wonderful to deal with. PS - has a huge washer and dryer and she supplies all the soap and dryer sheets for laundry!

I highly recommend this lovely, pristine, nicely-priced, rental. The owner spotted me as I arrived 1 1/2 hrs early and, kindly, invited me to check in as the cleaner had just finished. After the long drive from CT, this was so appreciated.
I found all the comforts of home and more. After noticing the items I expected to see (dishes, cooking utensils, coffee pot & pods, toaster, etc.), I celebrated unexpected bonus items like the french press, bag of freshly ground coffee, water filter, blender, full spice rack, and more. The one thing missing was a full-length mirror I realized I'd need as I prepared for the special event I was in town to attend. When I asked the owner about it, she quickly went into solution mode, even though I assured her this was something I could work out on my own. Instead, she took the initiative to have a new one in place before I needed it. She noted that her future guests will appreciate having it there, as well. (You're welcome :-). It's evident that the comfort of their guests is the priority.
I slept well! The bed is extremely comfortable. I could control the climate which was also great. The bathroom (like the kitchen) was stocked with amenities that said, "We want you to enjoy this!"
Being able to park my car right there, it its own space, was quite handy. I enjoyed my walks to nearby stores, cafés, restaurants, etc. Everything I needed was within walking distance.
If I need a place to stay in DC again, I will check here first.

We had a great trip to DC! This apartment made our stay even better. It was near the Eastern Market Metro station, but also not a far walk from the Capital Building. The neighborhood was cute and safe. We loved the comfort of the apartment as well. Thanks for a great stay!

This was a fine place to stay, and had good attention to detail. The owner was very responsive and gracious. I would stay here again.

Very comfortable place to stay. Easy walk to museums, monuments and the capitol. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

For our first time in DC, we couldn’t have picked a better rental than this one. The close proximity to Eastern Market is beautiful, historic, safe and access to the city is breezy using the Metro rail.
The apartment is adorable and very well stocked with all the extra amenities that don’t travel well. There are several wonderful restaurants in close proximity near Eastern Market and Barracks Row (8th St SE). Walking distance to the Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and Marine Barracks Washington (a must see for first-timers)!

All the comforts of home! Clean, a great shower, big towels, comfy bed.
Enjoyed the dark chocolate that was on the table.
Well equipped: kit ( coffee/ tea)bath ( all soaps)
Necessities ( stores-1 blk)- can walk to all the monuments ( if capable), or bike share, & Uber was a great backup. We walked 25 miles in 3.5 days. Used Uber to return at night, if our feet hurt- lol.
I will tecommend the rental to family & friends. Very safe & charming. Thanks! Tammy

Loved everything about it. Location was fantastic! It was our first time to DC and all of the historical sites were easy to get to, and you can’t beat the parking spot. Host was fantastic, great communication, everything neat and clean! Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again next time in DC!

The perfect location for exploring DC. Metro is close, Eastern market restaurants were amazing and you can walk to most of DC’s sights in 30 minutes or less. And it has its on parking space. We didn’t move the car for a week. This from a couple where one needs a new hip and the other a new knee!
The host is wonderful and so responsive to every inquiry. Cannot recommend this accommodation and host enough.
The only place I’d consider staying in Washington.

Great neighborhood and apartment, walkable to the Mall and DC activities, helpful and thoughtful owners (restaurant recommendations and walking directions were spot-on).
