Unremarkable place so not much to say really
Expensive for what it was, wanted to charge £30 for checking in a hour early. Made a mistake booking and then charged an extra £80 for the 2nd guest. Seems to be run by an absentee owner leaving the young team to it ( who were great but had no
Authority ) - No menu at breakfast just offered a full English or veg option , then told we don’t serve baked beans. Stay was £249 for 16 hours in an unremarkable room over priced

Nice little place, really tucked away just in from the coast. Very quiet and pretty location. Comfortable room in courtyard. Nice breakfast.

warm and cosy
car park was dark on arrival

remote
TV didn’t work in room, no controller given even if it did work.
we paid for a double room but had to 2 single beds that were pushed together and they kept on moving

Nice location and approach.
Rooms are dated, dusty and uncomfortable. Staff came across super flustered at the littlest things and ranging from passive aggressive to rude. None of them should be in hospitality.

expresso martinis room was lovely although shower soaks the floor bit dangerous I think dinner was lovely
property was fine but breakfast let it down but being short staffed in the kitchen I guess that’s why

Everything. Lovely room, truly pet friendly (my doggo even got his own sausage for breakfast :) ), super friendly and welcoming staff, excellent breakfast, quiet location, very very clean, beautiful area…

The breakfast is superb and freshly prepared to order on the day. The front of house staff are great and very engaging. The room was spacious with a great shower and excellent television. Coffee, water, etc., were all made available. The location is peaceful and also aside from the restaurant/bar area.
The room was a *little* bit dusty and the furniture a little bit worn out. The mattress on the bed could also use a bit of investment. The adjacent rooms are a bit "close" (I could hear someone snoring next door).

We arrived hungry in the evening and wanted to eat something in the restaurant that is extolled on the website („you can be sure to be served the freshest of food, in a very relaxed and comfortable environment.. „) It was closed. The whole restaurant and pub were dark. No dinner, nothing to drink. We got no wifi-key – there wasn´t one in the room. The pictures on booking.com were quite different from the room, we got. The entrance door of our room was partly damaged, the colour came down from the ceiling. There was no view from the room to the garden- as promised. We onlys saw a parking place before and behind.
There was loud music in the garden till11.30 p.m. (wedding, dance??) and a couple of leaving cars. The promised „small breakfast“ before our drive to Dover ferry (6 :45 p.m) was not possible.

Location
Customer service was appalling.
Denied access to restsurant or bar due to wedding.
Bed on bricks.
Tiles missing in bathroom. Window panes cracked.
But the attitude of the manager was worst of all.

nothing we didnt stay there as there was a wedding and a lot of the hotel grounds were restricted and also amenities
wedding venue facilities shut

we didn’t stay at the property…
We paid £160+ each for two hotel rooms. Having come back from a long job that day, on arrival, we were told the hotel was full… but, we could have accommodation at the camp site next door. We stayed in what I can only describe as an old horse drawn cart on wheels. We were kept up most of the night by the dull thud sound of music coming from a wedding reception party happening at the hotel. At least we know who our rooms could have gone to. They could have warned us they were full, i’m sure there’s no such thing as a spontaneous wedding party booking.

The staff were perfectly friendly. The check in was smooth and the person on reception was welcoming and friendly. He also sorted a problem with the lock on our door very promptly.
The room itself was dated and there where physical signs of things needing repair, holes in the bathroom wall where something like a shelf had been removed for example. The tv was small and didn't have a remote control. The bath had bits of the enamel missing, and although clean just didn't look like it was. There was no shampoo or soap, just body wash for the shower over the bath. We should have been informed when we booked that there was a wedding at the venue, because all lounge areas, garden and dinning area were closed off to other guests. So with only our room to chill out in on a hot summers evening, no way of eating or drinking, sadly we had to book another venue and pay for the taxis etc. The price of this room was quite high for the facilities on offer and would be wary of booking there again, just in case of a wedding. I would definitely not stay there during the winter either, the room door (facing an open courtyard) had splits and was poorly fitted, which must make the room very drafty.

Nice idea, stables converted into rooms, main building for breakfast had lots of character
We had a late check in arranged by booking.com due to our previous hotel letting us down, the owner checked us in and was a bit grumpy and stern, telling us we had to be out at 10.30am even though we were checking in after 1am. Later we found out there was a possibility of late check out! But at the didn't dare ask due to his manner.
We arrived at breakfast at 9.15am to be told breakfast finished at 9.30am but they would get our order, again, the host, this time the manager was a bit curt in his manner, telling us we had sat at the wrong table after failing to direct us to the correct table. At this point we decided to send a message to booking.com as they told us there would be 24 hour reception and that we could check out late.
The manager was moaning at the fact that his Boss had to get out of bed at 1.15am to check us in. We asked about late check out he informed us that it would be an extra £20, which we agreed, it was shame we weren't told this the night before. As we could have saved a lot of tension and stress on all sides.
We went back to our room to rest thinking everything was sorted, but then we heard heavy banging on our room door. It was the manager telling us we couldn't have late check out and that we needed to leave within ten minutes.
We packed our stuff and thought well we've had enough of this place. He was back at the door shouting, I told him we were just leaving, he said if we didn't leave he'd call the Police! Disgraceful conduct considering we were paying over £160 for 3 star accommodation. As he walked away he muttered something about leaving a bad review, which I hadn't done. But I'm doing now, as these guys don't have a clue about customer service sadly

They had complimentary Yorkshire Tea bags in the room
I checked in only to be told that the hotel was shut for 2 days due to weddings. Consequently i was not allowed to use the bar, the restaurant or the gardens.
I paid an extra £20 for a garden view room which turned out to be a view of a privot hedge ( see photo).
There was nothing for me to do so i thought i'd watch tv. Nope, an error message stated that there wss No signal. ( see photo)
The only thing left to do during my luxury decompression break was sleep . . . . . .Nope, no chance because the wedding ceremony's PA system was blaring out.
I remained for a total of 1 hour and 20 mins.
When i advised the hotel management of why i was checking out i was told ( verbatim quote) " you paid for bed and breakfast and you've got a bed and breakfast" breakfast being the only time o was permitted to use the reataurant but only between 08.30 - 09.00.
Immensely annoyed with the Hotel and with Booking.com.
Shall be taking this further because at present i have just flushed £157.00 down the toilet.

Comfy bed and an excellent walk in shower
The rooms are in a row of a converted wooden shed. They are fine as such, but most look directly onto the car-park so you have to keep curtains drawn, it got very hot so you want the window open, and the soundproofing was inadequate. I personally consider that if you advertise a bath room, then it should contain a bath. It did not. The staff were officious rather than friendly; I wanted cereal for breakfast, but "We DO NOT DO cereals" which seems ludicrous to me.

Location and lovely staff
Bed uncomfortable and the extra bed had a very thin layer of mattress, impossible to sleep on it : (

breakfast and dinner were absolutely excellent

location
the only small issue was that it was slightly disorganised no napkin on our table, new menu so the waitresses were not confident with it, the website menu is completely different to the hotels actual menu
