Un muy buen hotel

La amabilidad, la atención de todo el personal y las instalaciones todo muy bien. La playa del hotel tambien perfecta a un paso de la piscina. El todo incluido vale la pena. El buffet para las comidas muy amplio y surtido. Facilidad para contratar taxis para ir a los puntos turísticos. Tuvimos una grata sorpresa además porque al llegar nos hicieron un upgrade a premium por una promoción por haber contratado justo el Maya Tripocal justo a través de booking. Y pudimos beneficiarnos de muchos más servicios

Las camas de la habitación necesitaban renovación, se hundia el colchón por el medio un montón. La humedad dentro de la habitación, en parte es cosa del clima pero toda la ropa del armario o que dejabas en las superficies estaba siempre húmeda, quizás algun deshumidificador?

Nice property with bad food offered.

The property is nice and very clean.

The bathroom is the room stinks piping a lot during our stay, it was reported but no one came to resolve the problem. The house keeper did not put any amenities in the bathroom for the duration of our stay, even she sees the soap melted and used. I had to request them a day before we left to get them once. Same thing for the refrigerator, they do not refill the soda and water. We went to the Mexican Restaurant, we couldn’t eat our diner because as soon they served us, a tons of flies landed on it and flew around it. It was so disgusting, even the waiter felt embarrassed and kept saying sorry about that. We left without eating. In Regard to the Buffet, you will basically find the same thing everyday. Very very limited food with seafood, I would say one dish. The food is cold. The juices are very watery to the point to do not taste the fruit. The juices that they offered in the pool are extremely sweet.

Me gustó la playa y piscinas. La comida no estaba mal. La habitación muy bien.

No me gustó nada la atención del personal excepto Rolando de recepción que siempre trató de ayudar. Tuvimos un problema grave en la habitación, reportamos y nunca mas se supo. En los restaurantes los camareros MUY MAL, si no hablas inglés no esperan propina y atienden fatal en todos los buffet. Lo peor la atención de los camareros

Muy buena relación calidad-precio. Todo perfecto. Las instalaciones, las albercas, las áreas de uso común. Nos dieron un upgrade y nos tocaron unas habitaciones frente al mar excelentes y con muy buenas amenidades. Son muy cómodas y amplias. El personal es super capacitado, amable y servicial, en especial los concierge. La comida esta muy bien y hay gran variedad. La playa es hermosa con muchas palmeras, amplia y el mar nos tocó super turquesa!! Hay muchísimas actividades para hacer durante todo el día. El circuito de hidroterapia es muy bueno también, muy recomendable. Sin duda, volveré pronto.

No deberían permitir que los huéspedes usen sus propias bocinas/parlantes en la alberca (o áreas comunes), ya que molestan a los demás sin importarles. No todos queremos escuchar su música!!!

Fun family vacation

I got promoted to premium just by booking our stay on booking.com. The beds are very comfortable, the best thing was the attention from the staff. The beach is very clean.

The food wasn't great, the buffet is alright, not too many options.

Bad food, bad drinks, not very clean (restaurant bathrooms are disgusting), rooms tired with stains and poorly cleaned, and their transportation company Barcelo Vaccaciones lie to their clients about some construction work on the way back and drop you off at the airport 4-5 hrs ahead!

Food. It's too big you can't see a lot of people.

You need to pay for every attraction inside the resort. I got picked up 30 min late from the airport using their super expensive transportation and had to be standing outside on the heat with all the arrivals. There was no cold water for half a day. We couldn't take showers, and couldn't use the toilet. It's to big of a resort a lot of walking. Oh, FYI, and make sure you schedule the cleaning of the room if not, they won't clean.

the quality of the food was subpar. I did not like the buffet- the food was bland and flavorless. The stations were not kept neat and clean.

The food quality was mass produced and lacked flavor even salt. The food was dried out.

Beautiful place and stuff lack training

Pools, beach, stuff during meal time and bars, food, very beautiful nature.

Stuff in the front desk -during the payment the lady told us our cards were invalid, husband started ringing to the bank, but the bank told us cards did work, so after 30 (!) minutes the front desk charged from the same card correctly..not a really wonderful experience to wait with two small kids. Beds are just awful, as soft as my grandma's sofa..and the conditioner needs to be cleaned. High humidity in the room. My son came 5 minutes later from the beginning of the activity in the kids club, several girls were already drawing, he also asked to join, but the lady told him it was too late, all the rules about this activity have already been announced... seriously?..

I love that the property had so many things to do. The grounds and the beach are beautiful!

I felt our room was not as clean as it should be. Areas like in between the bed and wall where dusty. also I’m the shower the top parts of the shower door was dusty. it’s like they clean but not detailed cleaning. For the price we paid I think everything should be spotless

I love this place and all that it has to offer, and I look forward to returning, but I will be staying at Barcelo Maya R

Well, first of all we didn’t stay at Barcelo Maya Tropical, because we were moved to Barcelo Maya Caribbean. I didn’t like the change, because I booked the Tropical location. I liked the fact that I was able to choose where I wanted to eat and visit different theaters.

The property was very clean, my wife and I were very impressed on how hard the staff works. They served us like we was Kings and Queens.

A great hotel but far from Playa el Carmen and other towns

This is a complex with 6 hotels. Facilities are for the six hotels. Hotel is beautiful and facilities are great. Food is very good with a great variety of option. Many activities to do for different ages. Overall a very good hotel.

Wifi is unstable in most parts of the hotel Receptionists need to be further trained. They say no to every request even without consulting. They do not coordinate among themselves causing unnecessary delays. The rest of the staff is great but this is not the case for receptionists. I booked for Maya Tropical with my family. We had two rooms but surprisingly I was placed in one of the other hotels. I struggled a lot to be kept where I reserved and with my family. Apart from this issue I had some others always with receptionists.

The resort was worth every penny spent. I recommend this resort to all traveling to Mexico.

The breakfast was exceptional. There were a wide range of different options. Very traditional accommodations.

The breakfast option could have added more non pork products. Add Turkey sausage, bacon ect.

Great place to relax and have fun too.

The property is huge. The place is clean and the spa is very nice. We met Ali Masoud at front desk and he made our stay more enjoyable. He took the time to explain all the things that we can do and places we can visit.

The food can be better.

Superb

- Attention was great, the waiters were amazing (especially Macario, in the sea food restaurant... called "Marenostro" or something like that) and Monica at the Premium reception was amazing as well - Stunning facilities

- Privacy in the bathrooms is not the best, especially if you are traveling with your family - Sargassum on the beach was a pain in the a* - They had workers close to the pool doing noise everyday

Barcelo Maya Tropical is part of a huge resort with countless restaurants, pools and entertainment facilities. Until the evening there is always enough to do and eat.

The people at the check in and service desk are not trained well. There are unfriendly, sometimes just rude. It must have been the first time in my life that somebody is not asking how my stay was during checkout or wishing to see me back. With so many options for a la carte dining it is hard to believe that everything is fully booked all the time, and apparently that is not the case if you see the half full restaurants when you get there. Cleaning personel however is very friendly, as are the entertainers at the resort. The transportation fees from and to the airport charged by the hotel are outrageous. The place is quite far from everything else, but a simple coach service would solve this problem (seems to be only available for bookings with tour company). Discotheques are closed, I was told because of government regulation, but Playa del Carmen and Cancun do have open discotheques, so don't expect any parties at the hotel or anywhere nearby after 10.30 pm.

Huge all inclusive complex with nice rooms and very friendly staff.

It is a huge complex with tons of activities. Very large rooms and comfortable beds. The onsite restaurants are nice.

I am very upset about this hotel keeping dolphins in the smallest of pools as a tourist attraction! Also tourists are feeding seaturtles and monkeys constantly with bananas and no-one seems to care. You would think they would care about animals these days! That was really disappointing to see.

Good option for vacation, good facilities and lots to do

The variety of amenities available for different ages, the facilities, in general, are in good condition, the beach and pools were excellent, we were impressed with the Maya Mall. Also, we appreciated having had the upgrade for our room and some other services. My 4-year-old son had a great time in the kids club, shows at night were entertaining, good service to pick up the glasses around the beach and pool, and keep everything clean.

Our room was extremely humid; the towels stayed damp after use and never dried. I also had the feeling that some of our things left out of the suitcase, also got humid, so I left everything packed. We didn't request any changes to the front desk because we were there for a few days, and we were hardly ever in the room. The air conditioner worked, but it wasn't too cool at all. Another comment that I will have is that all the juices are artificial and with a lot of sugar, there is no sugar-free or natural option to drink.
