Lovely traditional Ryokan. Staff were so polite. Japanese breakfast was an absolute treat! The onsen experience was great.

Tutto.
Ryokan meraviglioso, staff gentilissimo, pasti tradizionali vari, abbondanti e curati. Onsen autentico e pulizia estrema.

It’s a beautiful ryokan. The dinner was amazing and the staff were really welcoming and warm. I would definitely recommend this ryokan.

We cannot recommend this place more. It is a lovely cosy place allowing us to experience traditional Japanese style environment and food. The staff here are the loveliest and so kind. They were extremely helpful and accomodating. Especially as one of us had dietary requirements. We are beyond happy with our stay. It is also located convienently near several popular must see places including the river, morning market, heritage buildings and traditional streets. They made our honeymoon extra special by just being themselves. We hope to come visit again in the near future. Thank you again to all the staff there!

Everything was great. Good location. Very welcoming staff. Liked the Onsen. Traditional meals were great.
All good.

Convenient location . Less than 10mins walk from the takayama train/bus station. Lovely traditional ryokan with a small onsen . The complimentary coffee in the morning was a thoughtful touch . Staff were friendly and speak good English . Very helpful and recommended an outstanding keiseki dinner at a restaurant a 5 min walk away from Ryokan .
As our room was facing the car park , could be a little noisy in the morning .

Welcoming staff. Japanese breakfast was good. Onsen was adequate.
The location was not in the old part of the town and didn’t have the right atmosphere. It was surrounded by concrete buildings. Futon uncomfortable for us but that maybe due to our mature age.

Beautiful building, really warm and welcoming, fantastic location (very convenient), helpful staff, delicious food!

Bellissima struttura. Bello l'onsen.

Very welcoming hosts. Comfortable room. Very good but small Onsen. We didn't eat dinner as the chef was off that night but did eat in a wonderful Japanese Restaurant that they recommended. Takayama a wonderful place to visit.
The western breakfast was inedible. I think it would be better to stick to coffee and fresh pastries and fruit on their part.

The staff were so friendly! We had left something behind and they found it and mailed it onto our next destination. The meals were incredible and it was a lot of fun being able to wear the yukatas around the inn.

warm and attentive hospitality. old Japan was very present. we enjoyed the onsen and many personal touches given by warm and generous hosts. We stayed in the traditional Japanese rooms which were large and beautiful with hand painted furniture and attention to detail.
Nothing. it was lovely

A homely and warm welcome experienced. We’d the hotel owner waiting for us upon our appointed arrival window! It is clean and well managed. Hotel owner also shared a little about their 2-century old inheritance which their have stewarded successfully into the hotel today. They’ve certainly done their Samurai ancestors proud!👍🏻
A clean and warm atmosphere!

The staff were great and super helpful. Some great dining recommendations as we didn’t eat in.
I felt that the rooms were a little jaded - very clean and comfortable but felt old and tired. Also felt that the western breakfast wasn’t great - meat too fatty and egg too raw.

The staff were friendly and the hotel lobby was cozy and had a warmth and welcome feeling from the outside cold.
Nothing that we didn't like but do expect to walk abit from the train station.

This ryokan was absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The staff don't speak much English but were still very helpful. The location is walking distance to all the main locations you would want to visit, and the ryokan itself is so clean and comfortable. The Japanese breakfast offered is a really great traditional experience as well. Loved our stay and would highly recommend to others.

Very friendly, warm welcome. Lovely traditional room.

Great ryokan right next to Takayama station, so east access for foreigners without a car
A bit pricey but I guess it's expected
