The atmosphere here is brilliant! I was greeted at the door by the landlady who was super friendly and helpful. The staff were lovely, as were the patrons & I loved joining in the open mike that happened to be on :)
My room had a great view of the garden & my bed was really comfortable.
Breakfast was lovely!

My freshly cooked to order breakfast was very well cooked and presented. I was asked on several occasions if everything was ok - which it was.
The shower didn't have any hot water from the mixer bar, and apparently it does work but is very temperamental!

Owner, staff and pub patrons were all super friendly and welcoming to both me and the dog! The room was comfortable and quiet and very clean. Food was great pub grub and the garden out the back was lovely!
Discovered the shower wasn't working properly on my last morning but the owner was very apologetic and offered me a discount for the inconvenience, which was unnecessary but very kind of her!

Lovely staff, lovely welcome. 4 poster bed in a room where the decorations reminded me of a summer meadow. Dining room was tastefully furnished in a style reminiscent of a well maintained stately home. Lots of cut flowers and the food was great. Prices? Very reasonable.
Nothing to dislike.

Perfect antidote from the charmless chain hotels! Britain at its best with charm, history, personality and brilliant service. Very comfortable bed.

The food was excellent. Dinner was served in the separate dining room and was nicely presented and the food was well cooked and delicious. Breakfast again was excellent. A good choice and once again extremely friendly staff.

The owner, who welcomed us, was very friendly and sympathetic to the situation that we found ourselves in, as a relative had been taken seriously ill. Two members of our party had returned home because of this news. They didn’t even arrive at the property! When we heard that the relative had died, we left. Our belongings had been in the room for about an hour. I wrote to Booking.com to ask if we could be refunded some of the money. I haven’t received a reply as yet. This is not a complaint about a stay as we didn’t even stay! We feel that we ought to receive at least a partial refund in these circumstances. I’m disappointed that Booking.com have not replied to me.
There was an extremely loud party in the garden. We could hear the music as we drove into the village. We were told that it would end by 23.30. I imagine it may have affected the quiet atmosphere of this country pub but totally understand that in today’s difficult economic times the business needs to ‘make money’ in whatever way it can.

Lovely personal customer service. Owners are extremely helpful and made to feel at home. We stay in a lot of hotels and was nice to stay somewhere with such a lovely homely feel.

Really nice guy looked after me when I arrived.
Some of it a bit dated but it's an old country pub so it's part of the charm.

Friendly staff, comfortable beds, very clean, big garden/field at the back to walk/relax in.
Noisy main road, very small bathroom, breakfast not included in price.

It was very quaint and traditional. The welcome and care was amazing. The staff were very kind to us.
Our only issue was a very cold bedroom but the lady kindly provided us with a heater so that was gratefully received on a -4 degree night.

Comfy bed, tasty food, good value for money, very friendly owner who made me feel very much at home

We had a lovely stay. Three tired and muddy cyclists were given a very warm welcome and made to feel at home. A lovely evening in front of a roaring fire...and a very comfortable night's stay.

Sheila was a great host, dinner and breakfast were delicious. Beds were comfy, lovely crisp white cotton linens with extra blankets. Shower room was small but perfectly formed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The room was cold when we arrived. It was an exceptionally cold day and the heating had only just been put on. Sheila did leave the heating on all night for us and it did warm up a bit.

Lovely breakfast: fantastic sausages!
Very easy-to-find location, despite the fog, with parking by the entrance.

A traditional country pub, a friendly host serving great home made food. The beer and beverages are good.
The location is good, rooms are very comfortable. Ideal for work or leisure.
Fantastic value for money. Our Fire Crew enjoyed it. Thank you,

It was clean and comfortable with an exceptionally welcoming hostess. Although on the main road it was very quiet and easy to reach local towns and villages.
Nothing.

This was a memorable stay, for the strong sense of community ( the landlady arranged a charity fund raising event in minutes, supported enthusiastically by locals in the bar), and her desire to see her guests happy and comfortable. I had a lovely room, immaculately clean, and specially enjoyed a wide choice of fruit at breakfast, as well as full English.
Nothing. Ok, it is on a main road, but I slept well.

The host were very friendly.
The room was filthy and the B and B smelt putrid.
