Silverhill lodge getaway

Wow, there's so much to like! The location is so so amazing. The views of our stunning kzn mountains, the peace and tranquility of nature. And the hosts were great, welcoming and friendly, made us feel at home. You guys are doing an excellent job.

Helt enestående smukt sted med ekstraordinær god service.

Enestående sted: vidunderlig beliggenhed, fantastisk service. Vi rejser meget, men har aldrig oplevet så perfekt et ophold. Alle, vi mødte, gav os utrolig service og hjælp. F.eks. arrangerede Anthea på stående fod, at jeg kunne komme med på op på bjerget en meget tidlig søndag morgen til lodgens volture hide og se Bearded Volture, og en glemt jakke blev straks sendt videre til vores næste destination. Vi vil elske at komme igen!

Peace and tranquility

Beautiful tranquil setting. Everyone involved was friendly and made us feel welcome and part of the family. Excellent well cooked meals served next to a lovely log fire.

Excellent accommodation with stunning views and exceptional service!

Fantastic cosy location. Great and friendly service from each and every single staff member. Treated us as family. All meals were of great home cooked quality. Common areas were very warm and comfortable especially with a two year old in toe. Rooms were exceptionally clean. Comfortable beds with blankets/underfloor heating keeping us warm as it snowed during the night. Back-up generator helped during those load shedding hours - powering the entire lodge. An ideal place to escape for a few days of rest and relaxation.

Any Spa services would have been a great addition to the lodge. Be wary of Kamberg Road leading up to the property - 30km of Dodgem pot holes (although no fault of the property).

The team running the lodge treated you like family, good friends and not just customers. They go out their way to create a family like environment for every one. The facilities were extremely comfortable.

We have 2 young kids and the playground being out of working order (it would appear it had not been maintained for some time), created a bit of challenge for us to keep the kids occupied while enjoying the lodge’s great facilities.

It's a very nice place to relax and to forget about things. The lodge is located on a beautiful farm, you can do so many things in nature, like hiking and fishing. Everyone at the lodge is extremely friendly and lets you feel like it's your home. The dinner meals were always amazing and so delicious. Definitely worth visiting again.

The restaurant and lounge facilities were very comfortable, with spectacular views over the mountain. The barista-made coffee was delicious. The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming.

Silver Lodge is an ideal escape from the bustling City Life to Relaxation with Nature, Complimented by extraordinary Staff Hospitality.

Could have stayed another week - beautiful setting, great food and friendly, interesting an helpful owners.

The very accommodating staff were amazing

while no fault of the Lodges, the road has potholes, so plan more time for the scenic drive there.

Stunning location on a huge private nature reserve. Family run, all the staff are extremely welcoming, going out of their way to make you feel at home. Interesting natural oil remedy extraction factory on site. Loads to see and explore, chat to "front of house" Justin for ideas 😊

Take your time on the road once you take the turn off the highroad, lots of potholes

Wonderful, peaceful and visually stunning location and lodge! Walk, climb, explore - its perfect!

Silver Hill... its location, the staff attention and everything about the surroundings is outstanding! The peacefulness of the Drakensburg and the amount of activities that you can do, while there, makes this a perfect location to spend more than than 1 day!

It would be nice if breakfast and all coffee drinks were simply included in the price, along with maybe 1 sundowner - as it is a perfect setting to just sit and enjoy. These small things really make a property stand out.

Excellent stay

Lovely hosts, so warm and welcoming. Excellent food breakfast lunch and dinner. Incredible views from the room and lodge dining area. Lovely hike options and 3 small dams to fish and canoe on.

Kamberg road (government road) leading up to the property is in terrible condition with a million potholes. It took us an hour to do that last 30km. At the property the children’s play area is limited and the jungle gym and trampoline needs some attention.

It's a beautiful place with delicious breakfast. Very comfortable and has lot to offer. Staff is amazing, easy to talk to. The place is heartwarming with a true SA identity. Higy recomended. Thank you guys!

We left Silver Hills feeling like saying goodbye to family!

Staff goes out of there way to make sure you happy and taken care of, eager to help with anything you need. Best views while having 5 star dinner or breakfast with great cappuccinos. Our room was spotless, very comfortable bed with a feather duvet, and some of the softest towels after a hot shower at the end of a cold and rainy day. One of the best stays we had in a long time. Will most definitely visit again!

Excellent mountain views. Rustic. Food options limited but excellent.

Facilities were either occupied by a shareholders meeting or staff taking over the bar area. Unable to enjoy the view and freshness. Doors were kept closed while lovely weather outside. No umbrellas or available seating outside. Did not really care about guests at all. Upgrade required at pool area. Pool close to workshops and scrapyard. Very disappointing.
