Watch the sun rise over the Atlantic as you sip your coffee or tea from chairs on the balcony of this second floor ocean-front apartment above the garage next to the main house. Enjoy the evening from the same seats with a different beverage after a day at the beach or riding the bikepaths to town (bicycles included) as moonbeams shimmer the water to the horizon. When it gets cooler, go inside and light a fire. Read or watch your favorite show or movie on the screen above the dancing flames.
Named after the primeval spirit of the sea, Thalassa, your getaway space, has an open view of the ocean. The cathedral ceiling in the living area makes it spacious. Clean, simple decor and wood floors complement the airy feeling of the apartment. The bedroom has a king size bed and ample closets; the well equipped kitchen and bathroom are new.
The apartment is within walking distance of the village of Sconset and the beach.

We had a wonderful and perfect stay in Sconset. The apartment is exactly as listed: airy, bright, and the view is amazing. There are bikes to use and the walk into Sconset is 5 min thru quintessential quaint streets. Kate is a great host and we look forward to returning!

Our visit was inspired by Elin Hildebrand’s beach novels. Sconset did not disappoint. The location was the best with views of the Atlantic and leisurely walks to town!

We stayed at the apartment during the week of 4th of July and had a wonderful time. Sconset is beautiful and you cannot beat the location of this apartment. We walked into Sconset every morning for breakfast and at night for ice cream! It was also very clean and much larger than the pictures indicated. We would absolutely stay here again!

This apartment is an absolute gem—so bright and spacious and very nicely furnished with a great view of the ocean. Everything was extremely comfortable, and the location is absolutely superb—very short walk to downtown Sconset, yet very quiet and relaxing. The apartment is exactly as shown in the photos. We highly recommend and would happily return in the future.

I hesitate giving a perfect review because I want to keep this wonderful apartment a secret. It was perfect in every way. As soon as we opened the door we felt right at home. I don't think we could have wanted anything more. This apartment had everything we would need and the view was amazing. The worst part of the entire weekend was that we had to leave. We will absolutely be back to this piece of heaven. Thank you Kate!

I can’t imagine staying anywhere else on Nantucket! A few short minutes drive from the hustle and bustle of town, this property offers breathtaking sunrises over the ocean, a deck which is the perfect spot for having your morning coffee and planning your day or spending a relaxing night on the deck gazing at the stars. Thalassa has all this and more for you to discover.

We so enjoyed our weekend at Kate's property. The views are spectacular and the unit was clean and spacious for two people. The communication with Kate was easy and she was very prompt with her replies. We would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful property in serene location. Apartment was spacious, clean bright and comfortable. All amenities one needs to cook, relax, tour around on bikes and visit the beach. Kate is a lovely host and easy to communicate with. This is our second visit and hopefully not the last.

Words can not do justice. The location is the best the island has to offer. The space was out of a magazine , and Kate could not have been more gracious. For anyone lucky enough to find open dates here , grab them ! Truly an unforgettable stay. We will for certain be back next year.

Perfect apartment with ocean views, cute place! Less than a 5 minute walk to the shuttle to get around the island. Bike rides out to the light house we're fun. Would highly recommend!

We traveled to Nantucket for work purposes. We had a wonderful stay. Location was great and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Perfect place for a couple to stay! Loved all the amenities the property had to offer. Walking distance to the market & a lovely restaurant. Highly recommend this property and would stay here again if we were to travel back to Nantucket.

Beautiful property. Exactly as expected. Perfect spot to have a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise over the ocean. Enjoyed using the bikes to go down to the market for breakfast sandwiches and sweet treats. Convenient access to bus that gets you downtown in 15-20 mins.

We had a great long weekend vacation here on Sconset. The garage apartment is a perfect little spot in Sconset with amazing views. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck with gorgeous views of the ocean. The bikes with baskets were really nice and made getting around so easy. Thanks for having us!

My husband and I just stayed at Kate's place for 3 days at the end of July. The location is fantastic. Easy to walk to town (3 blocks) or the beach (2 blocks). We took the bikes to the lighthouse one day (about 2 mi) and enjoyed every minute. We did not have a car and instead used cab/lyft, which worked out well as long as we called ahead. We saw a lot of the island and this location worked well for us. Public transit is easy to jump on in town if needed. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet get away with a fantastic view. This was out 1st trip to Nantucket and we hope to be back again!

Although the weather wasn’t great our visit was terrific. The apartment is very comfortable with a beautiful view of the ocean. We took advantage of the bikes in between the showers and a very short walk to the center of Sconset where you can get sandwiches for lunch and dinner at the Chanticleer which we highly recommend! Next time we hope the sun will come out!

This was our second visit to Kate's cottage and it was just as great as the first. The place is spacious and comfortable and the location is unbeatable. The listing picture is very accurate. Watching the sun rise in the morning and being able to take a very short walk to the beach couldn't be better. We'll be back for sure!

The apartment was over a garage in a very quiet neighborhood. It had an open concept kitchen, dining, and living space. There was a balcony with a great view of the ocean. Large bedroom with plenty of closet space. Bathroom had a nice walk in shower. It was very nice and clean. The apartment was well stocked with supplies (anything you could need in the kitchen, lots of books, games, and traveler guides. The medicine cabinet was even stocked with sunscreen, Calamine lotion, etc.) There was a fireplace, wifi, and cable TV. It was a short walk to public beach access (not crowded) with a cute village market, ice cream and sandwich shop. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this place for friends.

The ‘Sconset apartment was beautiful and perfectly situated close to the village center, which made walking down for coffee, breakfast and ice cream a breeze! We enjoyed using the bicycles Kate offered to cruise the neighborhood and take in the Nantucket views. The house was well-appointed and perfect for a couples getaway. An ocean view from the private deck couldn’t be beat! We truly had a wonderful experience on the island with this apartment as our home base.

We loved the property with its beautiful view of the ocean. Aside from some disappointing details like lack of soap or shampoo in the shower and an empty tissue box in the bathroom, we couldn’t have been happier with this charming home.

Overall, a quiet, beautiful neighborhood. The accommodations were lovely and constructed well. Exactly as described. There were 2 little dogs that never stopped barking the entire stay so that was very disappointing and may have been to other neighbors as well. The apartment overlooks the owner's driveway and front porch so there was not a private moment without hearing the dogs. One night the owner had guests and left the dogs in the yard, who pleaded for over an hour to get into the house. We just escaped whenever the noise got to be too much. We needed to leave one night early and while we did not expect a refund, we felt we should have anyways due to the dogs. I think if that issue were resolved, this would be ideal for two to spend a quiet time together.
