Friendly and attentive staff , excellent location, view from my room, the breakfast, surprise ice tee on the beach, in general the vibes were just right
The coffee and especially the milk at the breakfast buffet was just bad

Location was convenient to the old port. Likewise sun beds across the rd at the beach were good. the staff were helpful.
There is no parking and impossible to find a spot nearby so this is really problematic if you have a rental.
The rooms are terribly dated and small, especially for 3 adults in a family room. No room for luggage and shared space. We were told there would be 3 beds and there was a trundle in the room for a full adult. Not good enough.
Likewise so noisy, can hear everything between the rooms, corridors and plumbing etc. struggled to sleep.

Amazing place, ideally located. Breakfast options were above expectation with broad variety of options & excellent quality.
Hotel is optimal for walks to and on the beach as well as near many attractions and old town. Staff were friendly and willing to do the extra mile in service in "out of the box" requests. To top that they make one of the best Bloody Mary Cocktails I've tasted even compared to awarded bars.

The service was 5 star. From the minute we walked in we were greeted with a fresh orange juice, a wet face towel as it was an uncomfortably hot day and a glass of water. Our bags were trolley up to our room. We were upgraded and our view was special. Location was great. Free entertainment every night. Every morning there was an impressive breakfast spogaaboard to choose from. Staff were impeccable. Pools were inviting. They have is a lovely little gift upon departure. Main market was a 15 min walk. Banana lounges were inclusive. They gave us complimentary watermelon on the beach. 10/10
No iron
Paid parking was located about 10 mins away but was reasonably priced.

The room was fantastic, comfy and clean with a great view of the beach. The location is also great as it was a short walk into the Old Town, and close to many shops.
It’s sadly quite competitive for a lounge by the pool, but there are plenty on the beach. We only had the breakfast included, and opted for dinner one night, unfortunately the food options left a lot to be desired and choices were pretty average (definitely recommend going into town for some great restaurants instead).

the location
room service was poor, some days all the towels were taken and I was left with none, on one occasion I was left with only 2 hand towels.
milk in the coffee making facility rarely replenished.
food not the best, would have expected better from an Aquila chain

Staff were so lovely and accommodating
Comfortable beds
Good WiFi
Loved the room once I paid for an upgrade
Clean hotel throughout
Good location for shops and beach
The breakfast was so good and lots of choice.
First room was a basic, dark room. Equivalent of a basic travel lodge. I was told I had paid for this rate but for a five start hotel, there shouldn’t even be rooms like this. Overlooked the shop with screaming teenagers and barking dogs.
The staff were accommodating and allowed me an upgrade for a reduced fee. I had to stay in the awful room for one night, so did not unpack and did not relax. The second room was beautiful with amazing view. But the road was always noisy til the early hours.
I stayed in a beautiful, bright, quiet room last year.
A barking dog disturbed a peaceful day on the beach as well as on the hotel terrace.
I like a quiet lovely hotel. It is lovely and the staff try their best but it wasn’t the best trip for me this time.

the staff is very pleasant and helpfull. the hotel is very clean and the loby is a very nice and cosy. breakfast is very good.
location is also very good, very close to the sea and the city.
the rooms are excellent, clean and quiet, AC is great.
almost no parking near the hotel but there is a parking lot very near.
the old city is about 15 minutes slow walk, but through the central tourist street so it didn't bother us at all.

This hotel has a great position in Rethymno and a great vibe with wonderful food and theme nights. The staff are both helpful and friendly - especially Miltos the barman. The accommodation was great and very clean. We were very happy with our choice! The best hotel in all respects in the area for us!

The staff, in general, is excellent and very courteous; most of the premise is good except for the bedroom and the noise.
The bedroom looks old, dark and untidy.

We left another accommodation because it was poor. We arrived at the Aquila and we were so happy!
The rooms were bright, clean and fantastic air conditioning.
The bathroom was spacious.
Great location for all restaurants and bars.
Lovely little pool and good lounge area in the terrace.
Breakfast was really great-lots of choice and good quality.
Reception staff were lovely and helpful.
We absolutely loved our stay here and cannot wait to return.
We never got asked if we wanted to order anything from the terrace from the staff member.
The breakfast staff looked really miserable.
