Dormir dans un château en Irlande très bien entretenu, un rêve.

Fantastic location with grounds/ park walkway with historical points relating to the property, family and local history. The rooms are amazing and highly recommend dinner. We were greeted by the hotel staff and enjoyed the library/bar area. Breakfast was wonderful too. An amazing experience.

The castle itself, the lounge, the bedrooms all incredible. The best bit for us was the bar which was made from reclaiming the wood from a sunken Spanish Armada boat in the nearby river - absolutely incredible and very atmospheric. Very comfy bed. Lovely view from bedroom.
The downside of a stay here is the lack of staff. One person seems to man the reception, the bar and the lounge. We had to go look for someone to ask for coffee in the lounge. The cocktails are “ pre-mixed” which is not the type of service you expect in a castle. At 15 euros each we expected to see some mixology but it was served pre mixed with no ice & no straw. You could do so much better. Any staff we did encounter seemed to be age 25 & under, with no signs of any grown ups running the hotel. It has so much charm though and the grounds are also lovely that I would go back. This hotel could be so much more with an injection of really good customer service. A mixed review!

We had a great experience, great food, attentive service and generally superb

Beautiful building and groundsl and breakfast was excellent.
The hotel is needing maintenace - carpets are old and paint is pealing. Also, windows in bedroom were not clean, there is no kleenex and pillows are not comfortable.

We stayed for one night for a special birthday from the moment that we walked into the castle it was so welcoming and warm. The Castle was fabulous the staff especially Maurice were friendly and helpful. The food and the setting of the restaurant was exceptional and I would highly recommend to eat here. Another gem to add to your stay here is Rouses Bar in the town, the have a traditional session every Saturday evening from 9pm Pat is a brilliant bar man and the musicians were mighty do yourself a favor a stop by here you wont be disappointed.

From the moment we arrived we experienced warm and helpful staff, cosy lounge area, amazing large bedroom with four poster bed and sitting area, and the food was just amazing and plentiful.

Food, restaurant quality not the usual hotel type food - comfy bed - friendly staff - owner gave us a free museum tour - loads of nearby parking - small amount of rooms so hotel is never packed, which I love -

Food and drink were excellent the staff were very friendly and its has a cosy feeling to the place when your and there.
Room and bathroom need a face lift very old and not very clean. Booked to have a bottle of prosecco in the room when we arrived and we never got it then they tried to charge me for it when I was checking out.

Beautiful and priced great!!
They didn’t have the nuts/snacks at the bar like they used to… That was a great treat with your drinks!!

Loved the historical value of the place. Loved the decor!!!
Room was really warm as the windows only open a small fraction. However a fan was provided for guests and stored in the wardrobe.

Friendly staff and food at the Jack Finn restaurant was excellent
Overall needs a refresh. Mattress was horrible. Cobwebs in the room indicated a lack of thorough cleaning.

Beautiful location, stunning rooms. Staff were all so friendly, down to earth. Food at Jack Fenns was delicious with good size portions. Staff at restaurant were lovely also. My mum is quite basic with her food tastes and the waitress Katie was amazing and checked if the kitchen had any tomato soup left.
Really interesting inside the castle. Had lovely drink in the Armada bar. Comfy bed, great sleep.
Only problem for me was no lift as my mum struggles with stairs. I understand that it isn't always possible to have a lift in an old building. Small issue only.

Lynn at the front was absolutely wonderful. Really all the staff from the housekeeping, front , bar service and wait staff were super friendly and helpful.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming, the food delicious.
On my reservation, I noted 4 people and was surprised (and disappointed) to be charged an extra 100 euros.
