Lovely home that has multiple rooms for our big family to spread out and enjoy a time to reunite. Three stories with two stairwells were exciting for our grand kids to explore. It is an older home with some quirky set ups for the bathrooms.
The city of Portland was experiencing a heat wave (100 over multiple days). The air conditioning worked, but the top floor lounge area and bathrooms were miserable. Most other areas of the home were kept cool enough, but the main floor was a meat locker to keep things bearable on the middle and top floor. The extra air conditioner in the upstairs bedroom was amazing!
The nighttime curfew on conversations outside felt a bit over the top, but we obeyed and had no issues. There was a surprise rule for us at checkin to prohibit paper plates, cups etc. We were busy with a family wedding nearby and had planned to utilize compostable products for time savings, so this was unexpected. However, we did our best to use the dishwasher and provided plates.
A suggestion to the owners to declutter the cupboards and game provisions. We did organize some of the decks of cards, but a little attention would make it even better!
Overall we felt they provided plenty of supplies (TP, towels, dish wash / laundry soap) and the beds were comfortable. We were very pleased and might consider staying again. Thank you for a great stay!

We were in town for a wedding. The house is fantastic, there was plenty of room for our family to gather. Its a great home away from home. The appliances are over the top!!

Our stay was great. This home, all of its space, the location, and the amenities were grade A. The host was extremely responsive and communicative. Highly recommend a stay here!

We were six women who came together to write and talk about writing. We had stayed here two years ago and were happy to find everything as nice this time as it was back then. There was plenty of sitting space and lovely, well-appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as places to hang out and work, away from everyone else, when needed. The neighborhood lent itself for long walks, and we found restaurants and shopping available nearby. The kitchen was well-equipped. We found the entire house to be clean and well-cared for, and we would definitely return to this place again in the future, if possible.

This property is a beautiful large home with many pluses !!! If you are planning a get away with kids it’s perfect! Our grandkids loved playing on the play set. We could sit on the patio and watch the kids play or play foosball with them in the room off the patio. The only negative was that the house wasn’t very clean. The hardwood floors were smeared with “cleaner” but not clean. With some sprucing up in the yard and a good deep clean this place would be fantastic !!

Excellent, easy walk to Mississippi, and great restaurants. Having a place that leaves enough consumables for your stay is lovely.

We took our family to Portland for our anniversary celebration. The house was great for our family with lots of room to spread out and large gathering areas for meals and games. The neighborhood was very nice and we were close to some of Portland’s best attractions.

The house was well kept and clean. We really appreciated the ample table space and we never felt crowded with our large group.
Our biggest complaint was that there was only one bathroom with a shower/tub on the main floor where most of the rooms are. There were two more on the top floor (though one lacked a toilet). There was also one room with just a toilet - no sink, no shower or anything else which was kind of odd (though I don't think the owner included that in the bathroom count so I suppose we can't count that against them).
The owner does enforce quiet hours which is stated in the description but we missed it while we were booking so go back and double check that you're ok with what's listed if your also missed it!

A wonderful house for our family…ages from 2 to 75. The backyard playground was a wonderful bonus with many
hours of climbing and swinging for the children. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The dining room was fantastic….we invited guests for dinner and one night had 17 people seated around the two large tables.

Elegant and gracious home in a lovely leafy neighborhood near bars and restaurants in the historic Mississippi district. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our large group plus space to spread out. We never felt on top of each other. Kitchen well stocked.

Overall property is lovely and in a very cool part of Portland with a super fun bar across the street. Place was super clean and internet was great and easily accessed. There are a few issues with not disclosing all the "rules" of the house on the main page and the A/C definitely did NOT keep up on the second floor bedrooms where the majority are... We had to set the A/C on 68* and fan on constant to even get close to <77* upstairs, this caused us to lose one of our team members to a hotel. Granted it was 90* during the day the weekend we stayed but keep in mind we set the A/C the night we rolled in and left it but it still didn't keep up... This was a disappointment at best. VERY STRICT rules about quiet time with threats of $300 fines coming from the owner! Probably won't come back... I will say the host was very responsive just not so accommodating with the rules that came in the welcome letter and not on the page including having to beg to check in after 9pm on a touchless check in... I later found out the owners live in the basement... Overall, a great home, just not for us again...

The outside of the home was very pretty, especially with all the trees and a sense of privacy within the neighborhood. I enjoyed an evening walk around the neighborhood, and noticed multiple people walking around enjoying themselves with their dog or strolling around with children.
The house was large yet very cozy!!!
Definitely a home that if you had a larger family it would work out very well and for those that maybe two or three people you would still have that intimate feeling within the house. Also the yard had a nice private feel with great porch area also.

This home was very comfortable well stocked and very clean. The neighborhood was ideal. Would recommend this home or any large family. Only concern is the fireplace did not work and there is someone that lives downstairs and that was a little uncomfortable since we have children they were not informed of this prior.

2nd stay here. This time we stayed here for our daughter's wedding weekend. We had a houseful of bridesmaids, so it is a great space for everyone to gather. The A/C was a blessing in the hot weather. Beds were clean and comfortable and there were plenty of crockery and silverware for everyone. Only downside is although we felt the property was clean and well equipped it could do with a deep clean (lots of chipped crockery and one of my girls stood on a piece of glass on the kitchen floor left over from previous guest). Overall great spot and would recommend for a large group or several families.

Loved this house!
We loved this house! There are so many thoughtful little things here from board games and baby play pens to a very comfortable living room and huge dining room. This old house is beautiful, elegant, comfortable and just "feels" good. We were also treated to all the trees and flowers in full bloom on our walks around the neighborhood.

Great home base for a group
A group of my buddies made the trek down from Seattle. This house was perfect for what we wanted. Super spacious, plenty of bedrooms, so many bathrooms. Big living room with TV. Great bars and food trucks in walking distance and Lyft fares were affordable. I highly recommend checking this house out.

Great big lovely house!
This 3 story, 5 bed, 3 full bath, 2 half bath, home was absolutely perfect for our week long stay in Portland. We enjoyed plenty of spacious comfort inside and out. There are 4 bedrooms on the second floor, 3 with TV's in addition to the TV on the first floor, all set up with Netflix, Ruku, HBO, etc. There's a huge beautiful 3rd floor that served as a perfect space for my daughter and her 7 bridesmaids to get ready for her wedding. The house is very well stocked with kitchen supplies crockpots, utensils, etc. Also, plenty of bed linens, towels and cloths, paper towels and toilet paper. A brand new package of laundry detergent pods was available to us. Iron, ironing board and steamer in large laundry room came in very handy for wedding party attire. Generous and friendly hosts. This property is within a quck walking distance to Mississippi Street favorites. Sylvia allowed us an early check-in. Thank you, Sylvia! We recommend this property!
**Note** Residents occupy the basement apartment of this property.
Suggestion: Could use a thorough cleaning of furniture and floors on ground level between bookings. We found food under couch cushions when looking for the remote control) oand flbetween bookings.

Great house and location! This home is awesome for reunions!

Very spacious and quiet
Pros - 2 dining tables that can be combined or not. Spacious kitchen with all cooking needs. Quiet bedrooms on 2nd floor. Exceptionally clean. Cons - weird bathroom configurations. 1st floor - 1/2 bath only. 2rd floor - 4 bedrooms and 1 full bath with toilet, sink, tub and shower combo, and 1 toilet room at end of hall without sink. 3rd floor - 1 bedroom with curtain for door. 2 bathrooms - one bathroom has toilet, sink, shower; other bathroom has tub and two sinks but no toilet. We made it work for all of us but it was a little strange.

Great Location & Comfortable
Beautiful house in a great location. We held a small work retreat here and found the property to be excellently stocked with essentials and very conveniently located to public transit. The whole house was very comfortable. Please do note that the attic bedroom is separated from the rest of the attic by a curtain, rather than a door. This would work perfectly for a family using the attic space for kids, but was a bit awkward for a work group.

Great place for March Madness
This was a great experience for all of us who stayed here. The house is much larger than we expected and location was ideal to get to the Mode center and enjoy the great bars and restaurants within a short walk. It couldn't have been any better!

Perfect getaway for large group
A large group of friends (10 adults) stayed in this property as a "home base" for exploring Portland for a few days. The property had all the necessities, and then some, with comfortable furnishings and everything we needed to feel at home. The place was exactly as described in the listing. The host communicated politely and regularly to make sure we had all the information we needed. The location is convenient for access to downtown if you're comfortable taking the light rail into town, otherwise it's a relatively short walk (over the highway, though) into the Boise area where there was shopping, restaurants, etc. Overall this was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful house.
The house was beautiful. It seemed like many of the dishes in the kitchen were dirty. We had to wash them before use. The railing on the third floor is very loose. It should be looked at.

Wonderful large house with character and a great yard for the kids
This was a lovely house to stay in, with plenty of room for our family of 4 (including an infant and toddler) and grandparents. Everything with check in and check out was easy, and getting to and from the house was a breeze. Would highly recommend!

Overlook winter weekend
We had a great time at the Overlook property. The house was awesome; very clean and exactly as described. We also had some young kids with us who enjoyed the play structure outside as well as exploring around the house. There was a winter snowstorm going on that weekend, and Sylvia the owner was super understanding and accommodating when it came to arrival and departure times (given the trouble traveling through the snowy streets). Nothing to complain about, would definitely recommend.

Home Away From Home
This home is spacious which allowed each of us plenty of room for sleeping, reading, virtual school etc. our grandchildren loved the play equipment in the back yard. The kitchen and laundry have all needed amenities. The location was perfect for all of our Portland activities.
