Excellent availability of the manager Diego.

Very cosy lodge on the edge of the town Machachi, kept very clean and well-equipped. Very relaxing vibe and so much better value than some of the more well-known lodges in the mountains. Diego and his family are super welcoming. The tour agency that Diego runs also offers tours to cotopaxi and the surrounding mountains so it makes travelling around pretty easy.
No hooks in the room I was in - could not hang up jackets and such though there was a shelf. Unfortunately the lodge is located more than 30 mins walk from the panamerican highway so you have to take a taxi to get to the interprovincial buses, making things a little more inconvenient and expensive but it's a small thing.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice location
Bed and pillow were very uncomfortable.

Comfortable room. Free tea in the evenings. Small shared kitchen, equipped for making simple meals. The communal fireplace was great for warming up/drying things after a rainy day of hiking.

The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and very clean. I really like the dining room area, kitchen, and showers have hot water. It feels more like an airbnb in the mountains than a hostel. It is very reasonably priced and is close to cotopaxi NP north entrance, along with La ruta de la cascadas. Its very quiet and peaceful at night.

The hostel is very nice and cozy. We had a beautiful room (Cotopaxi) with comfi beds. The breakfast was very good and plenty. The host and his family are very welcoming and friendly. One night we walked out to have dinner and bumbed into them and they took us for dinner by car to a nice restaurant where we had dinner together which was very nice! Great place to visit the Cotopaxi vulcano and they offer multiple option to do so.
Would definately recommend this place!

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions and proposed multiple hinking options for Cotopaxi. They even have a website documenting the restaurants and bus stops. They were simply super nice and lovable. The casa itself was clean and offered a nice view. The breakfast was delicious and generous, perfect for montañeros.
The shower was either freezing or burning except for a few precious seconds.

Great value for money and lovely rooms. We did the Cotopaxi tour with the neighbouring outdoor company and loved it, it was so easy and quick to organise! Clean and comfortable, with a communal kitchen.
Machachi isn't a beautiful town, but is well located for hiking and getting to Cotopaxi. Enough fast food restaurants so as not to starve.

Comfortable room, great breakfast.

we booked a tour to do the summit of cotopaxi from there. it was amazing.
the stuff is very professional and competent

Diego and his family had a very warm and friendly welcome! The hostal is nice and their visit to Cotopaxi is really worth it! Best place to stay in Machachi!

Delicious breakfast, super helpful staff. The website with restaurant suggestions was wonderful and all the restaurants we went to were perfect.
It was difficult to find the hostel, and our taxi driver had to ask multiple people for directions. Thats not the hostels fault, obviously, but maybe some directions that included landmarks would have been helpful

the gardens and common room were very nice (we liked the fire) and the room was comfortable.
there is not much sound proofing so could hear the people staying in the room above us but it wasn’t a problem as they went to sleep early.

We had a fantastic stay. The rooms are comfortable and beds are warm, and the lounge with free tea was appreciated. Breakfast was really delicious for $5. The hosts gave helpful advice on local restaurants and we booked a day tour (private transport to and around cotopaxi national park) which was fantastic.
Not such hot water but still fine

Great place, very nice family owned hotel. Very helpful! Room was comfortable and clean.

The staff were really helpful. They gave us great advice on activities in the area and explained which bus to get the following morning and from where. The room was spotless and spacious with lots of blankets. The property is just outside the centre of the town so we had a quiet nights sleep!
No hot water.

Very nice people, and cozy house.
We booked with a "private bathroom" but we had to share it with 4 other guys.
4.6
The staff was really really friendly and our bedroom and all common rooms were very clean.
The hostel is situated on walking distance from everything you need.
Diego organized a great trip for us to Cotopaxi park. It was a beginners trip but we’ve seen him making plans with some fellow travelers who were serious climbers and they were equally excited about their hikes!
To us this was absolutely no problem, but it was a bit noisy due to creaking floor boards and the holes in the walls for some much needed air.
Also the shower was luke warm.

The owner is really devoted to make your stay perfect, as well as whatever you want to explore around. He gave us all the informations we needed and helped us in organizing our adventures up there. He really loves mountains !
4.6
Diego is a great host, the place is beautiful and incredibly well maintained, clean and quiet, with a very good breakfast. Plenty of options to explore the park. Highly recommended.
4.6
The location and staff are exceptional. The property is centrally located in what is known as the valley of the nine volcanoes. Diego, the owner also runs an outdoor adventure tour operator named Andes Climbing.
I would definitely recommend this property to someone who wants to easily get to the the main ecological reserves such as the Illinizas and Cotopaxi.
Diego’s knowledge in mountain biking, trekking, horseback riding, and montaim climbing through Andes Climbing makes for an unforgettable experience.
4.6
The view and the tranquility of the location was great.
There was strong smell coming out from the bathroom sewage in my bedroom. I told the staff and they told me it was a problem in the community. I would advice them to keep some natural fresheners in the room so the smell it doesn't get to intense.

The property, room, and bathrooms are super nice and very clean. The breakfast is a nice touch and the hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming! They go above and beyond for their guests!
Everything was great! No complaints!

The house is awesome and typical for mountains lodges. Diego was very helpful with the tour to Cotopaxi at a good price and good service with the guide (Lunch including so very delicious). His wife was nice cooking the breakfast and being kind with all our requests. The room and common room were quite, we enjoyed the staying at their house.
Nothing.
