About this apartment rental
Our typical grade II listed Georgian terraced house was once the home of Reverend William Jay, a nonconformist minister who at the beginning of 19th century preached in the Argyle Chapel in Bath. It is a historic building with original features and plenty of character which is at the same time provided with all the mod-cons including free Wi-Fi.
The apartment has two double bedrooms two of which with views towards across the Avon valley and furnished with characteristic period furniture. The rooms are spacious and full of light and present original features including a fireplace and sash windows. Bed linen and towels are included. Young families are welcome and we can also provide them with a travel cot bed. There is another spacious room with garden view, that can work both as a living room and as a bedroom. It has a 3 seater sofa and a day bed that can be used as a sofa and that can be turned into two single beds in the evening.
There are two bathrooms with bath and shower and one kitchen where our guests can cook their meals. If you wish we can provide breakfast for a small charge and this is served in a different room within the house. (Please see pictures of both kitchens in the gallery).
We live in the same house and will be around to help for any queries. However, the area reserved to our guests is on the first and the second floor and is pretty much self contained. Guests do not have access to the garden.
The house is located within easy access of the M4 motorway and on-street parking is free in the area. We are at only a 20 minute walk from Bath city centre and about 30 minutes to Bath Spa train and bus station so that you can easily reach on foot all main attractions: the Roman Baths, Thermae Bath Spa, the Royal Crescent, the Circus, the Holburne Museum, the Fashion Museum, Jane Austen's House, Bath Rugby ground and shops galore. If you don't want to walk, the bus into town stops right in front of our house.
There are a couple of alternative routes to walk in to town. You can either walk on the London Road, or you can take the picturesque canal tow-path, which brings you to Sydney Gardens and the Holburne Museum, continuing down Great Pulteney Street (the setting of so many films for its grandeur) finally arriving at the famous Pulteney Bridge in the centre of town. This route is perfect for a morning jog if you fancy it!

Great location, beautiful rooms, lots of space. It was an easy walk to the city centre. Groceries are a five minute walk away. The kitchen had everything (dishes, cookware, utensils, dishwasher, etc.). The host was very good at communicating prior to our stay and was very helpful when we arrived and during our stay. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed 16 nights here! Easy from start to finish.

This is a lovely historic house.
We enjoyed the historic details and availability of washer and kitchen.
The overall provisions in the house were fair. Towels were not what I would call fluffy as described on website. There were no outside areas available to our family as shown on the website, and there was no way to lock our section of the house for security other than to lock each bedroom at night.
There were no soaps or anything in the bathroom upstairs w bedrooms which was the ‘more private’ of the two.
Kitchen pans were adequate but seen better days.
Laundry soap and dishwashing detergent were provided.
One of the bedrooms/sitting area had a bed/sofa that when my child sat on it - they fell through to the floor. We reset the slats on the bed but the owner should take care especially if an elderly client were to stay.
That said the host family who live downstairs were quiet courteous and gracious upon check in.
Parking was a block away - as described. Took a couple tries circling the congested traffic area.
About a 25 min walk into town and 5 min walk to grocery which is very nice.
I assume this property is a work in progress for this family and hope they continue to develop it.
Overall I felt that while there was lots of indoor space rates were a bit steep for situation and comfort, but I think this property has magnificent potential,.
