About this apartment rental
The Cobbles offers charming ground floor one bed accommodation with additional double sofa bed, in one of the oldest buildings in St Ives in the much loved old fisherman’s quarter, tucked in just behind St Ives' colourful historic harbour and sea front. It is on one of the most beautiful lanes in St Ives - a quiet narrow pedestrian only cobbled street rising up from the Harbour. The Cobbles now has an exclusive fixed parking space in easy walking distance above the Tate gallery which you can use if you wish for an extra charge in advance. Ask the owner. Or arrive on the train as St Ives has its own train station within walking distance and you won't need a car unless you wish to explore the wider area - and for that there are buses, trains and taxis. You’ll find the Cobbles has the perfect holiday location: central for St Ives' unspoilt lanes, independent shops, five fantastic beaches - you can actually pad back and forth barefoot with your bodyboard from the front door if you like to the long sweep of Porthmeor sands or the pretty Harbour beach. Enjoy swimming, surfing, walking and relaxing; discover this unspoilt little town with its rich history and diversity of art galleries, old inns and wealth of good quality restaurants and cafes. Picture yourself strolling free as a bird out of your own front door to enjoy within whistling distance all the life and inspiration of St Ives, including stunning views of the bays on both sides of the 'Island', clean and inviting beaches, romantic sunsets and coastal walks as well as a wealth of small fascinating shops and the renowned and extended Tate St Ives Gallery which overlooks Porthmeor beach.. The Cobbles is an ideal choice for a holiday at any time of year - St Ives has a mild climate, often stunning sunshine and that famously enthralling light, with the thrill of high tides. There is so much to see and do all year round in this unique little town including a famous Jazz club, old cinema, boat trips from the harbour and of course it's the perfect place for finding interesting arts and crafts and Christmas shopping. In September there is the annual festival for two weeks of non stop cultural events and at New Year people flock in costumes to St Ives for an incredible outdoor celebration in the streets on New Year's Eve. Be prepared to enjoy just being inside at the Cobbles as well; it's warm and cosy, the lighting is generous, the facilities modern but unpretentious, so it's a good place for reading, writing, drawing or just catching up with yourself. The accommodation is fresh and clean, with comfortable beds, attractive design features and interesting original art on the walls. The pretty tiled patio right outside the door is of course a lovely quiet place to relax on sunny mornings. Guests love it and guest book comments include 'what a sanctuary this place is' ,'what a wonderful location!' 'could not fault this place - we will return,' 'spacious enough for the three of us', 'we'll most certainly be back for our anniversary', 'so clean and such a high standard' 'couldn't have asked for more!' .

Lovely central property in a great location with the added bonus of a car parking space a short walk away.
Very clean with everything needed for a great stay.

Very well maintained and comfortable. Judith was extremely helpful when I had questions. Location was very central - far enough away to be private. It became home for ten days.

Great little property, excellent location, great option of parking permit, will be back, if you like a few beverages, VERY close to the sloop.

It had everything we needed for a short stay in St Ives. Nice and clean and everything was well arranged. Would strongly recommend for a couple who want to have access to all of the beaches and shops within a short walk. Thank you Judith, the property was excellent!

We were attending a Course at the St Ives School of painting
Cobbles was in a very convenient spot for the school restaurants and the Tate all only a short walk
The parking arrangements were good too
we parked up and got a taxi down to the harbour with our luggage and in reverse as we left.
We would stay there again.

The Cobbles was very easy to find, with the added bonus of a little sun trap patio to eat breakfast. Judith was very responsive, fortunately. The flat is set right in the heart of Downalong, easy to access everywhere in St Ives. Great swimming off Porthgwidden. Fabulous dinner at Porth Meor Cafe in a booth overlooking the sea.
We paid for the reserved bay to park our car in, which took away the worry of moving our car out of Barnoon car park, and not being able to get it back in there. All in all, a great place to stay.

We loved our stay at The Cobbles. It is two minutes from the harbour. There is everything you could need in the cottage. The parking was a real bonus as at a premium in St Ives. Judith was a great host too.

Brilliant stay at the Cobbles, fab little snug with everything we needed for our stay. literally seconds from the main drag and perfect for exploring St Ives, with beaches all around.. Will definitely visit again. Definitely recommend taking up the carpark space that is offered for a small charge by the owner, once you’ve booked. (Parking in St Ives is a nightmare otherwise so this was a definite bonus)

Super location - right in the centre of St Ives.

The apartment is great. The location couldn’t be easier to get around. We were there for four nights and were quite comfy. Having the parking was a plus. This was our break in the middle of a tour around Cornwall and was just what we needed.

Clean, cozy and convenient
If you want to be in the center of it all, this is for you! Actually, the advantage of this apartment is that it is conveniently located close to everything, BUT it's on a quiet side-street so you don't get as much of the noise and activity. The space is organized and has a nice amount of storage. The personal artwork makes it cheerful and welcoming. The supplies and appliances are in good shape (the stove can be a little challenging. Make sure you push the correct button - on the right - to turn it on!) We thoroughly enjoyed the museums, walking the many pedestrian trails, and even a 30 minute hike to beautiful Carbis Bay. This is a great little vacation rental. Don't miss the opportunity to grab it when it's available.

Lovely Stay
The Cobbles is just as advertised, a quaint cottage on a quiet lane, just round the corner from the seafront at St Ives. We had everything we needed including a few
little extras like milk and biscuits. We were a bit apprehensive about the parking arrangements which seemed complicated, however everything went to plan. We arrived mid afternoon on a Monday and there were several spaces in the Sloop car park. The cottage is just round the corner and we easily found our way to the long stay car park where our car stayed out for all of our break. We found the cottage well equipped with a comfortable double bed and a spacious shower room. We had only one complaint, the sofa bed when used as a sofa is uncomfortable to sit on. Overall we rated the cottage 5 stars and we would recommend it.

Short walk to the main part of town but quite steep.
I cannot fault this property in any way, quite compact but with everything provided for a relaxing and comfortable break. I enjoyed every moment of my stay and will certainly return.

Great location
We found the location of the property was excellent being very near to the harbour front and also close to the St Ives school of painting where my wife has been undertaking a year-long course. The property is well maintained and met our needs very well.

Another fabulous week at The Cobbles
This was our third stay at The Cobbles since 2018 and it was as lovely this time (if not better!) as it was the first. The apartment was spotless, very homely as always, especially with the fresh flowers in the living room and bedroom, and so well equipped throughout, with ample indoor storage and wardrobe space. Other consistent welcome treats were the moreish biscuits and fresh milk provided by Judith on arrival. It’s a brilliantly located accommodation. I would highly recommend taking up the parking permit option which Judith offers at an additional cost as we noticed particularly this time, that there were virtually no spaces available in the long term car parks in St Ives.
Myself, my husband and our nine year old daughter absolutely love it for the immediate access to some of the lovely niche little shops, choice of beaches, galleries and eating out options. We did a mixture of cooking our own meals, takeout and eating out. We bought fantastic fresh prawns from Stevenson’s in Newlyn to make a curry, re-visited the SILCo Searooms for great tapas and their very own gin, bought fresh homemade pasties from Pengenna Pasties (in our opinion the best in St Ives!), had delicious fish and chips from the Balancing Eel (literally 30 seconds hop from The Cobbles) and take out pizza from Peppers. Oh, and breakfast at Porthmeor Beach Café has always been great. Needless to say we are now de-toxing and deflating ourselves after all that!
Judith has always been a fantastic and caring host, very accommodating and easy to communicate with. If I haven’t already I shouldn’t big up The Cobbles too much more in case we can’t get future bookings due to it’s popularity! Thank you so much Judith, we can’t wait to return.

Lovely but…!
Lovely little flat in a good location near the harbour.
Clean, with pretty much what you need for a short break. Good and easy communication with Judith.
Only downsides, which were enough to rate this 4 stars not 5, were that the sofa is a sofa bed and really quite uncomfortable when relaxing in the evening after a lovely day exploring. Also the noise from the accommodation upstairs was so loud that any chance of even a small lie in was taken away from us.
Might seem small issues, but enough for me to mention to others.

Perfect little property!
Really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Cobbles. The property is perfectly located in a quiet little street close to the harbour. We found it to be very clean with all the amenities needed for our stay. Judith the owner is a great host, it was lovely to be welcomed with fresh flowers and Cornish biscuits. Those little touches make all the difference! Would definitely book again.

Getaway for two
A charming cottage/ apartment on the ground floor in a cobbled lane right by the harbour. A very short stroll to Porthmeor beach and Tate St Ives, that was really the best part. Don’t take the car and you will enjoy it more. There is a street light right outside the bedroom window but this might not bother you. The cobbles has everything you need and the paintings create a very Cornish style

Excellent location
The cobbles is ground floor level, two minutes to the beach’s and shops. Quite location. For a couple the cobbles is just right. The shower is lovely, the bed is so comfy, it just needs a darker blind in the bedroom as the lights stay on outside the property. We love the cobbles and the owner is very helpful and informative. We have stayed there three times. And have booked again for 2022 😁

The Cobbles
Spent a week at The Cobbles, fantastic base right in the middle of St Ives.
Cottage very clean & had everything there that we needed & very comfortable. Although only a minute's walk away from the lively harbour it is very quiet.

Excellent location
Excellent little apartment. Very small but we didn’t care as we hardly spent any time in as the weather was good! Clean and a lovely
Kitchen. Couldn’t work the dryer even after reading instructions maybe it’s user error 😂 but overall this is an excellent property and you really couldn’t get a better location. Just up a cobbled walk way near the sloop. Nothing is more than a few minutes walk. I recommend getting the parking pass from the landlord. It’s a bit of a walk down hill but we done it no problem with 3 cases and a 3 year old in tow! We will deffo stay again.

Perfect stay!
Enjoyed our stay so much. The Cobbles is in a perfect location and is a lovely clean place to stay. The parking permit was a bonus as parking spaces in St Ives are hard to find..We definitely would like to return to the Cobbles in the future as it felt like home from home. Thanks Judith!.
