About this villa rental
Conch Shell Beach Villa offer free use of a 16' motorboat, 2 tandem ocean kayaks and a stand up paddleboard. This charming beachfront villa is located in the quiet western area of the beautiful 2.5 mile long delicate pink sand beach of Spanish Wells, Eleuthera, Bahamas. This area of Spanish Wells Bahamas offers some of the best bonefishing in the Bahamas. Conch Shell Beach Villa is located on more than 1.6 acre of beach front property so that it offers much more privacy than most of the beachfront rental properties in the area (which are typically situated on 1/8 acre or less). Spanish Wells is very safe, and the locals are helpful (and sometimes even entertaining.) This lovely vacation villa rental offers a private entrance and a large private garden with many coconut palm trees, an abundance of flowering trees, sea grape trees, coco plum trees, and large native Bahamian shade trees. This villa is located in an area of large beachfront estate lots (most 2+ acres) where there is no public beach access; so, this is the most quiet and secluded stretch of beach in Spanish Wells. The beachfront garden is a great place to relax in the hammock and peacefully read a good book.
The Villa:: The interior of the home is decorated in the very colorful island tradition with much of the furniture of wicker and rattan. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large great room, and a full kitchen. The villa offers every convenience including cable TV, DVD/CD player, washer & dryer, microwave, paddle fans in every room, and air-conditioning throughout. Free unlimited high-speed internet is available. Marvelous ocean views are offered from the great room and kitchen!
There is an expansive covered front porch that offers up the most amazing views of the turquoise blue ocean. This is a great place to relax and read a book on the chaise lounges in the shade, or to dine outside while taking in the view. Adjacent to the porch is an outside shower so that one can rinse off salt and sand before entering the house.
A paddleboard, and 2 tandem ocean kayaks are offered with the vacation rental with which one can use to explore the area. A 16' new fiberglass boat with motor is also offered for those that love fishing, snorkeling, and sightseeing. With the boat one can explore nearby islets, islands, cays, deserted beaches, and some of the Spanish Wells Bahamas area's most beautiful reefs. The boat is moored right in front of the villa making it very convenient to use at anytime. Otherwise, motorboats, kayaks, and bicycles are very expensive to rent separately if you can find any to rent. Golf cart rentals are plentiful in Spanish Wells and can easily be rented starting at $225/wk. = $32/day with discounts available for longer stays. We'd be happy to help you with a golf cart rental for your stay.
Conch Shell Beach Villa is located on an idyllic beach with powder soft pinkish sand. The beach is calm, tranquil, and warm with no rocks, rough surf, or riptides, and the ocean is so clear you can see your shadow on the bottom.
Fishing charters, snorkeling trips, cave tours, golf cart rentals, and larger boat rentals are available. It is best to reserve these at the same time as the villa. Please request further information if you are interested.
Spanish Wells: is very safe with friendly, helpful locals. The Spanish Wells area is well-known for its great fishing and snorkeling. The Devil's Backbone Barrier Reef is just offshore. Terrific bonefishing can be had right in front of Conch Shell Beach Villa.
In Spanish Wells Bahamas, you will never run out of things to do until you want to. The native Bahamian quilt makers, the local straw vendors & the museum are always fun to visit. A visit with local fishermen as they bring in their fresh catch each day can be both informative and delicious. A trip on the Fast Ferry to nearby Harbour Island is a delight, and you won't want to miss the local restaurants, the home bakeries, and the best fishing and snorkeling that the Bahamas has to offer.
Spanish Wells is reminiscent of an idyllic Cape Cod fishing village with swaying coconut palm trees and bright bougainvillea as background. Winding little roads lead a visitor around brightly painted cottages sporting gables and wooden shutters.
Note: The rental rates are for accommodations at Conch Shell only. A motor boat, ocean kayaks, and Stand Up Paddle Board are offered free of charge for your use at your own risk. Note: An energy surcharge is applicable on this rental for any electricity bills in excess of $200/wk. Please see our rental form for rules and cancellation policy on this site.

We can help you with reserving fishing charters, snorkeling trips, boat and golf cart rentals, and booking a now famous " SEAVENTURE". Its best to reserve these at the same time that you reserve the villa. Capt. Smiley, the property manager of Sunnyside Beach Villa, along with his brother Capt. Scuba are licensed captains that enjoy taking our visitors on fishing, snorkeling, boating, and land excursions. Many of our guests say that their excursion with Capt. Smiley or Capt. Scuba is one of the very best parts of their vacation. The captains also rent boats and golf carts at the best prices in town. Call us at Spanish Wells SeaVentures or Spanish Wells Realty, Ltd. to reserve your boat, golf cart, and / or excursion.
SeaVenture reviews:
"Can't say enough good things about Capt. Smiley and our snorkeling trip with him. He got a big cooler filled with ice & drinks, we brought along some lunch and snacks, and so began one of the best days ever. We went swimming with the pigs (amazing fun). We went to Egg Island and saw beautiful colorful marine life in really shallow water that the kids could really enjoy. We boated to other islands and beaches, had a beach picnic, found some conch, sand dollars, and amazing shells, snorkeled in beautiful sea gardens, and a couple of us were brave enough to jump off a cliff! I could go on and on, but shan't. We will definitely hook up with Captain Smiley again when we return to Spanish Wells." Michael Goodroe, CA, USA.
“We loved our day away with Captains Ron & Smiley! They took us to deserted beaches, amazingly beautiful reefs, and we even caught a bunch of nice snappers for dinner! They hooked fish for the youngsters and let them reel them in. They were very patient and accommodating. We saw beautiful starfish, a huge ray, many beautiful fish, and as we were going back to the dock at the end of a great day, we saw a group of dolphins - with mamas and babies. Wow what a day! I highly recommend a day away with Spanish Wells SeaVentures. It was the highlight of our trip!" Lorna Palowski, NC, USA.
“We had a great time exploring North Eleuthera with Capt. Scuba. Historic Preacher’s Cave, other hidden caves, a magnificent blue hole, the truly amazing Glass Window Bridge, Queen’s Bath, and he took us to pick fresh mangoes from his farms – delicious! He’s very knowledgeable about the area having grown up “in the bush”! On a different day Capt. Scuba took us spear fishing. (He’s a local commercial lobster diver when he’s not doing tours and fishing trips for folks like us.) We caught groupers, snappers, lobsters, and other fish on which all 5 of us feasted for days. All in all we had two great days with Capt. Scuba.” Mary Monnaco, FL, USA

The Conch Shell House was the perfect size for our group. The house had everything that we needed for our one week stay. It was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed exploring the property and the beach. They had the largest hermit crabs we had ever seen and all of the coconuts one could want. We even spotted bunnies a time or two. The walk to the beach is short and the view is breathtaking. We also used the boat a time or two. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at the conch shell beach house. It was very clean and had comfortable sheets, pillows and towels to use. We loved having use of the kayaks and the small motor boat at the beach. It was very windy on the beach during our stay so it was a bit difficult for us to use the paddle board. There was great snorkeling around the beach as well. The beach was very quiet and private feeling. We mostly only saw a couple or so walk by every once in a while. We took the sea ventures boat tour and it was the highlight of the trip by far. All the communication about the house was great and everything from transportation from the airport to the ferry, from the ferry to the house, etc. was handled by the caretakers and was seamless. The only thing I would recommend is that the pull out couch be replaced or fixed. We had 5 guests, so someone had to use the couch’s bed for sleeping and the bed was broken. She ended up sleeping on top of the couch instead which was a bit uncomfortable for a week’s stay. The house was perfect for 4 people though. Overall, we loved our stay in Spanish Wells and are planning our return trip.

If you are looking for the perfect place to unplug and unwind, this is your spot. Privacy and tranquility abound! The home was very well appointed...all you need to bring is a bathing suit. Walk down the short path and you'll find your private beach. And boat! And kayaks! And tiki hut where you can sip cocktails and watch the amazing sunset. The Beauregards are delightful and attentive. Lorraine couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful.
We look forward to a repeat vacation next year!
Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise!

We did a day charter with Brent and had a blast feeding pigs and turtles

Rustic beach cottage on the most gorgeous beach. Spanish Wells is the perfect size for a family getaway - not touristy or too crowded. The house is dated but it’s what we expected and had everything we needed. A huge bonus that the house came with a little skiff. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding waters. Lots of good food on the island. Def recommend renting a golf cart. Groceries are expensive, but we brought a good bit from home. The beach is just a short walk through the path from the house and is quiet and tranquil. We had the whole beach to ourselves most days! We enjoyed snorkeling right on the beach, looking for conchs and starfish and enjoying the sea life. Our four year old son had the best time with many new experiences! We also had a great time going to see the turtles, pigs, and rays with Capt. Smiley and Mrs. Kalina! We will definitely be back, hopefully sooner than later!

Conch Shell Villa meets all expectations you have for a calm, peaceful, laid-back vacation. The house is charming. It is a little rustic, but very clean and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. The beachfront is breathtaking. We spent every sunset on the beach either paddleboarding, kayaking, or fishing. The golf cart worked like a charm and we enjoyed using the skiff as well. Communication with the hosts was seamless, and we enjoyed two days on the water with Captain Smiley and Seaventures where we saw turtles, stingrays, and even caught enough fish for dinner! Overall, Conch Shell Villa is exactly what you want if you're looking for a place to get away from it all and enjoy time with family and friends. 100 percent recommend!

My girlfriend and I stayed for 7 days in early October. We should have stayed longer. Spanish Wells itself, is a neat little island. Everything slows down. It is not crowded and built up like a tourist area usually is. You can travel every where on a golf cart, which is included. It is very safe and the views are amazing. Do yourself a favor and book a boat tour with captain smiley. The scenery you see will leave you speechless.
The villa is clean with everything you need. It is on the beac, but has some small vegetation between the villa and the beach. The beach itself is gorgeous. We cannot wait to go back

We spent one week at Conch Shell Villa at the end of August 2022. We had a wonderful time. The house is in front of a beautiful beach with turquoise, warm and quiet waters populated by sea turtles. We enjoyed the sunset long walks on the beach till the nearby sand banks. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need and even more (kayaks, paddle board, boat, golf cart etc) and the manager was very welcoming and helpful. The island is very safe and everyone was very kind with us. The restaurants nearby are excellent (we tried the shipyard, the wreckers and the sandbar), the grocery store very close. The boat excursion with seaventure was the best part, we saw so much marine wild life and breathtaking sceneries. We loved this relaxing vacation on this paradise island! Paola & Guido

My husband and I took our boys (ages 24, 27) for a family getaway. This was a perfect place because it was a very laid back place with plenty to do. The owner arranged our transportation from the airport to the home. We sincerely appreciated her hospitality and incredible service while we were here. Having a private beach with chairs, kayaks, bicycles, and a boat was incredible. We used the boat to explore other small islands, cliff jump and swim in some of the most beautiful clear turquoise water that we have ever seen. We used the grill for several dinners and found everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking. We rented a golf cart to get around on the island and I would highly recommend it! The local places to eat and shop were great and people were most friendly. We did a half day charter with Brent to snorkel, go to the swings and a really cool sandbar. We saw turtles, rays, lots of fish and even a few sharks! This is the absolute best vacation we have ever taken! I would highly recommend this wonderful place for anyone wanting a relaxing of the beaten path, tropical beach vacation.

Spanish Wells is a very friendly and safe island. The house was perfect for our family and we used the kayas and bikes daily. We went fishing with Brent and caught many fish. Swimming, snorkeling and paddle boarding by the house is great. We saw turtles and even a Manatee one evening. We fell in love with the island and hope to return soon. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us.

For a quiet beach vacation in an unbelievably beautiful location I can not imagine a better option. Soft white sand beach with shallow water and not a soul in sight. Sitting on the patio looking at the turquoise sea is a delight. The house is simple and comfortable with everything you need... Great washer and dryer, good internet. Lorraine, Brent and Kalina we're incredibly accommodating and helpful.

We all were very disappointed to have to leave this amazing place. This home has some of the best views that I have yet to see. The moment we walked through the door, we noticed it was very clean, smelled good, & had a comfy feeling to it. We were greeted when we first arrived & shown around the property. They were very nice & thoughtful. We used the kayaks, paddle board, the boat for a little bit, & to get around the island we rented their golf carts. It was an awesome experience for all of us! The house is pretty much set up with the essentials. We took the sea tour with SeaVentures, which was a different kind of an amazing experience. We did some snorkeling, stopped on a sand bar in the middle of nowhere & got out to pay in the water, looked at some deserted islands, & cliff jumping (well only one us jumped...the rest of
us chicked out). Capt Smiley is awesome & Kalina (I hope I remember her name correctly) is super sweet. They both went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. They even brought us some fresh mangos (we loved them) to try. I can not say enough about the place. The views are perfect, the water is so clear, the people are super friendly, and the atmosphere is laid back. You can't ask for anything more!!! We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful month at the Conch Shell Beach Villa.
The house sits on a beautiful beach with mostly calm and shallow crystal clear water. We saw lots of sea life there.
The house is very cute with absolutely everything you need. It’s clean and everything works perfectly.
We had one issue with the internet and Lorraine got right on it and it was fixed within 24 hours.
Both her and Brent were very attentive and super helpful at all times.
We also rented a golf cart from Lorraine. Easy as 1, 2, 3!
Loved everything about our stay there.
Highly recommended!

We had an absolute perfect honeymoon. If you want quite, secluded and breath taking views this island is the spot for you. Our house was more than enough for us and would be great for a family. We enjoyed our days out on the boat exploring the waters and other beaches. Golf cart is perfect for zipping around Spanish Wells. Everyone on the island is very friendly and helpful. There are several places for eating out and a well stocked kitchen for cooking you own meals. Lorraine and her crew have it down to a science and keep you well informed before you arrive and most helpful during your stay. I can't say enough good things. We are in the process of booking our anniversary trip and looking forward to returning to The Conch Shell Villa!!

We spent 11 nights at Conch Shell. Our family of 5 (three kids ages 5, 8, 11) loved the island, beach and house. The beach and water around the house are great and we got a lot of use from the Skiff, kayaks and paddleboard. If you are looking for very low key, relaxing and family beach time, this house and location is great.

This was our second visit to Spanish Wells and both times Lorraine and her staff have made the visit a breeze with regards to taxi pick up and buying groceries for our first day (the grocery stores are closed on Sunday). The house is located on the quiet side of the island and is very, very clean. Loved sitting on the porch looking out over the spectacular water views. The only down side to the house seemed to be the water pressure, was a bit low. The beaches are second to none, the people - warm, friendly and very helpful. It has the feel of stepping back in time. Can't say enough good things about it all.

Where in the world do I start? Spanish Wells was our destination choice for this trip simply because my husband and I needed a true "get away" from everything, to completely disconnect it that's possible from our busy work at home. We took books, and planned to do nothing other than to rest and relax in the water, on the water and on the beach. This was by far the BEST beach we have ever been on. The seclusion, privacy, peace and quiet were unmatchable. The only sound was an occasional seagull and the waves crashing. Absolute heaven. The house was stocked with everything we needed to get by for a week. We arrived a little later in the day on the day before Bahamian Labor Day, so Lorraine advised us to run to the grocery store before unpacking bc they wouldn't be open the next day. We got enough staples to last the week, with the exception of water and ice, we did have to return for those a couple of times. We were not looking to explore or get off of Spanish Wells, so truly each day was spent either on the beach or on the boat. We snorkeled twice off The Devils Backbone. My most exciting day was snorkeling that turned into a starfish hunt. I love starfish and we found several. I also snorkeled right in front of the Villa and found several conch, one starfish and several sea urchin shells. My husband had packed his kindle and read the days away either on the beach or under the palapa. We tried kayaking but the days we chose the water was really too strong so we didn't do much of that. We really enjoyed the use of the boat! We really only ate at 2 places The Shipyard and Buddhas. The food at The Shipyard is really good, but the atmosphere at Buddhas is great! We did happy hour there and had really great food...if you're a burger fan you must try the slurger burger. You cannot beat the chill laid back atmosphere of this iconic little island. The people are wonderful friendly people, and so accepting of tourists. We felt like we had stepped back in time to the late 60's early 70's where life was so simple, fun, safe and friendly. They wave from their porches, cars, and especially the golf carts. That was my favorite part of the trip, that you could get around on a golf cart so readily. I could say more, but the most important thing to say is this. Don't wait, don't worry it is a no brainer. Conch Shell was perfection for us!

We had a lovely week at Conch Shell Beach Villa! This was our first visit to the Bahamas island of Spanish Wells. We try to avoid the "hotel scene" as much as possible, and the reason is because there are places like this one to rent. First of all, the property is absolutely beautiful with lovely trees and flowers, all beautifully maintained-- so relaxing to be in such beautiful surroundings! We took full advantage of all the amenities. The bicycles were great to have and we used them to get our morning exercise by cruising around the island. We did lots of exploring with the boat and found an awesome swimming/snorkeling cove about a mile past Ridley's Head. Brent was so nice to us and even took the time to take us on a short boat ride so we could get familiar with the boat. We spent a lot of time enjoying the lovely white sand beach -- great for adults but also perfect for anyone that has little kids! I think we only counted about 10 people on the beach the entire week! The golf cart (optional/extra charge) was so convenient and a fun alternative to a full size car (which would have been overkill for an island this small!)-- great to have to head down to the Shipyard for dinner (great drinks and seafood!). Also, Budda's Snack Shack is a "do not miss"--- doesn't look like much, but they have great food and Budda comes around to each table to introduce himself (AND they have a resident parrot!). Have to also thank Lorraine for arranging all of our land/water taxi transfers to get to and depart from the island which all went off smoothly with no problems!
A word of advice to anyone coming to Spanish Wells-- don't use the tap water to make coffee (tap water is salty!)-- get bottled water at the grocery store. Also, given that this is a small island and grocery selection is limited, I recommend bringing any items you can in your suitcase (we did this and it helped to eliminate some of the sticker shock at the grocery!). We are looking forward to a return visit to the Bahamas sometime in the future. THANK YOU, Lorraine and Brent!

What an amazing island home. The listing, photos, description, travel representative and caretaker were exactly right on the mark! The house (really well equipped kitchen) was lovely with amazing porch, view and access to the ocean. Arrangements to and from North Eleuthra airport seamlessly handled by Lorraine ( travel rep.) We never left this island. Bikes, golf cart and boat in great working order. Great vacation spot for quiet vacation. Not many shops on this island and a few small resturants (heard other islands close by and accessible) had more to offer in these areas. We were quite content to kayak, ride bikes, sun bathe, read and nap. Note: for people interested in snorkeling, bring your own equipment as there are no venues for renting equipment. Wish we had known. Maybe listing could note that. Thanks for a great vacation!

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Conch Shell Villa and loved it! The property is private and beautiful. We spent a lot of time on the beach and in the boat. Travelling the island in the golf cart was so easy and convenient. Definitely rent a cart! The listing was as described with no surprises! The house was very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed/expected.

We just returned from a week's stay at Conch Shell Beach Villa on Spanish Wells and we are still basking in the afterglow of an awesome vacation!
The villa was cozy, clean, and exactly as pictured here. We were pleasantly surprised to find a jug of water and a loaf of fresh baked bread upon our arrival. The bread was incredible and made the most delicious French toast. We cooked all of our meals at the villa and the kitchen had all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed. The washer and dryer were a big plus! We never turned on the AC. We left the windows open with the fans running and always felt comfortable.
The view from the verandah was gorgeous! To enjoy the verandah to its fullest we recommend you bring or buy bug spray. This is a tropical island after all and, like everywhere else, the mosquitos like to come out after the brief afternoon showers. Not a problem if you’re prepared.
The boat was great for fishing and exploring. We took it out each evening to bob around in the water while watching the beautiful sunsets and moonrises. We even got to see a GPS satellite launch from Cape Canaveral from our beach on a clear night with a full moon. Amazing! The optional golf cart rental is an absolute must.
The beach was fantastic with white sand, loungers, and kayaks. We would be on the beach for hours – either in front of the villa or walking – and would not see a single soul. Incredible!
Lorraine was very helpful in arranging the rental and round-trip transportation. She even picked us up from the ferrry herself the day we arrived. Brent was extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to make our vacation memorable.
The large grocery store, Food Fair, has everything you need for home cooked meals and anything else you might want/need. We were surprised at the large selection of items you wouldn’t expect to find on such a small island. Budda’s on 12 Street sells beer and alcohol. And if the fish aren’t jumping on your hook there are a couple of places you can buy it – Ronald’s or Bernard’s for example. Lorraine's son even stopped by one day to see if wanted any fresh Mahi Mahi.
Spanish Wells is not for everyone. If you need bars, nightlife, shopping, or other entertainment then look elsewhere. But you want deserted beaches, lazy days exploring by either boat, beach, or golf cart - and can make your own fun - then we highly recommend Conch Shell Beach Villa. A perfect vacation for us!

We had an amazing vacation at this house in Spanish Wells! It was our first time to the island and the house was perfect. We had 4 adults and it was very comfortable and spacious. The outside deck with table just extends the living space. We cooked almost all of our meals and enjoyed the trips to the local shops, especially the fresh baked bread everyday! Having the kayaks and boat allowed us to explore the nearby islands and do some great fishing. I would highly recommend this for anyone that wants a true island getaway. The local people were very nice and it was fun exploring in the golf cart. We can't wait for our next trip back!

Lorraine made all the arrangements to get us from the airport to the villa and back. The villa was just as described and shown in the pictures -- a very pretty, clean and comfortable place to stay. The beach is beautiful, the yard is gorgeous, and the mattresses were the most comfortable ones we've slept on away from home. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the washer/dryer were great to have. The boat that went along with the rental was wonderful, and we spent hours out on the water every day, fishing, snorkeling and sightseeing. Lorraine and Brent answered all our questions and were very helpful. We recommend this property in the most glowing terms! Spanish Wells is a wonderful place to visit. We rented a golf cart as well, which was great for tootling around the island and going across the bridge to Russell Island.
