Peaceful Mansion

Breakfast is wonderful! Cocktail hour is fabulous, and the views are great. The owner is very accommodating, you will not be disappointed.

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend. Die Lage war super. Das Frühstück war klasse und immer frisch zubereitet. Die Happy Hour war ein Knaller.

Magnifique manoir et super accueil

Le manoir est magnifique et très bien restauré. L’accueil de Tammy a été chaleureux autour d’un verre ce qui a permit quelques échanges avec les autres hôtes présents. Le quartier regorge de maisons de la fin di 19 eme,toutes plus jolies les unes que les autres. La vieille ville de Galveston et ses boutiques se situent à deux pas.

My First Stay in Galveston.

The location is in a residential area but close to the main points of interests I wished to see and visit in Galveston. Car parking was on-street and at no cost. The happy hour that Kathy hosted was very pleasant. The home-cooked breakfast was excellent.

I was allocated room 5 on the third floor. The air conditioning in the room could not be set to a temperature I found comfortable, far too cold on my first night, far too hot on the second night and making sleep impossible from 2am onwards. The cause of this was raised with Kathy who apologised. The room has no window and therefore no fresh air, the bathroom had two small block glass windows that could not be opened. There was no hot water available in the shower for about 5 minutes after turning it on, again this fact was known to Kathy. I also found the mattress and pillows to be very sad and worn out. I discussed my experiences with the property owner who accepted my position and offered me the full refund of my reservation costs. This was equitable and acceptable to me. I strongly suggest the owner addresses the points I raised however.

Fabulous - highly recommend for location history and service

Traditional style with everything in good working order. Large rooms with lovely porch and bedroom balcony. We were looked after incredibly well, even our preference for plant based food for breakfast. Morning coffee was amazing and coffee and water on tap throughout our stay. Porch socials were a lovely touch and we enjoyed the chilled hour or two before wandering out for our evening meal.

Bathroom door needs modernising as does air con. Also could do with a better hairdryer that isn’t hot or off.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft, freundliches Personal. Social hour zwischen 4 und 5 mit Wein fanden wir toll. Gute Nacht Drink stand auch bereit 😄 Frühstück mit aufgebrühten Kaffee 👍

Das Duschen in der Wanne mit dem Vorhang fanden wir sehr gefährlich. Keine Haken für Jacken im Zimmer. Zimmer im Dachgeschoss klein und anstrengend mit Koffern, aber das haben wir geahnt. Dafür ist der Preis gerechtfertigt

Perfect in all aspects.

The location in the historic district was ideal along with the proximity to the cruise port after our weeklong cruise. We stayed an extra day in Galveston and this Inn was perfect.

We wished we would have planned and booked a second night.

Will be returning as soon as I can!

It was so beautifully appointed. Absolutely charming and the interior with the beautiful staircase and stained glass windows. The service and staff were impeccable. Great suggestions on things to do. Was relaxing to sit out on the porch and enjoy coffee. Breakfast was great. The highlight was taking the Model T golf cart for a spin to see all the wonderful homes.

Wonderful escape, beautiful accommodations

Perfect location. Wonderful staff. Breakfast was delicious. The home is just gorgeous, a beautiful Victorian mansion.

Because the home is a Victorian house, be prepared to haul all of your bags up lots and lots of stairs, and back down again when you leave. There is no elevator and there is only a small staff.

Unique and wonderful room and board!

Crazy-unique place to stay, great historic house in historic district; wonderfully furnished w/ claw-foot tub, antiques and art, luxurious bathrobes. Great attention to our needs and desires by Tammy, the "caretaker," who carried our bags up and served us delicious happy-hour drinks and snacks, and led us to the perfect dinner place nearby. Excellent hot home-made breakfast with choice of biscuits/gravy/sausage, quiche lorraine, or something else we didn't have--I forget. Friendly atmosphere all 'round.

Would have liked a 2nd bedside light for reading--though overhead chandelier worked okay.

A lovely stay in a beautiful property

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely historic property. The home is exactly as pictured & is beautifully restored. The staff is stellar, the happy hour lovely (the old fashion was perfect.. a must try) & the breakfast delicious. A lovely stay in the heart of Galveston, close to all the attractions. This is a 5 star property, with a 10 star staff.

An experience and a beautiful space!

Personal attention and genuine warmth and Texas hospitality from the owner upon check-in. Gorgeous old home with expansive en suite rooms. High tech where it mattered (mattress, TV, internet) and everything else was perfectly old and divine! Had our own personal balcony! Thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary cocktail hour and morning breakfast. Met some interesting people cruising through Galveston. Why would I ever stay in a hotel?

Going back again as soon as we can.

Beautiful place. Elegant. Staff was super friendly. Walking distance to the Strand. Free Happy Hour. Coffee and flavored water available all the time. The breakfast in the morning was FIVE STAR, all made from scratch. We had crepes with peach filling and real whipped cream. YUM.

Very deceiving and not up front about fees.

The breakfast was good and plenty of it. The welcome was great and the communication PRIOR to staying there was good.

Prior to staying there I was told that we could receive a complimentary ride to and from the port to get on the boat. This didn’t happen and as we were getting out of the old time car that is when we were told, “How do you want to pay for the ride?” I said I didn’t because it was suppose to be free. She said, “I will just charge your card that you have on file.” Sure damn enough it was charged without my permission or knowledge because I told her no she wouldn’t.
