The location was perfect and close to downtown.

Clean, well appointed, comfortable and very well located.
A bit noisy on Friday and Saturday night.

Good location. Quiet except for the seagulls in the morning. Cozy and clean. Earl was very informative and helpful.
Not sure air conditioner was working properly so shut it off and opened the windows to enjoy the fresh air. Would have liked a parking pass as offered but previous guest did not leave it so we were a little inconvenienced to park on a different street. Not Earls fault.

Location was great near downtown. Unit was spotless and had everything you would need.
For us the bed was way too soft. We are hard bed people. There are a lot of stairs. It is noted as a second floor unit, but should say 3rd floor as you climb 16 stairs then enter your unit #4 and climb 15 more. We loved this unit, but if you’re elderly those stairs could be a real issue.

Clean, comfy, well appointed, well managed.
Can't be helped, but the unit we were in didn't have enough windows, no view, only artificial light, so it was very cave-like...but a very nice cave : )

Beautiful home right in a perfect location to visit St. John's by foot. A clean, comfortable and practical space made for a great landing spot for the beginning of our Newfoundland trip. Would go back again in the future.

We loved that the bedroom was separate from the kitchen and seating area. The decor was appealing and the electric fireplace made it feel really homey on the days it was cold and raining. The appliances and bathroom looked brand new. It was very clean. Ammenities were perfect. Laundry detergent, dish detergent, coffee. Would definitely stay again. Very close to shopping, restaurants and sight seeing.
Parking was a little expensive at the Duckworth parking garage. Nothing else to add.

Location was very central to allow us to explore the city after work was done for the day.
The security set up provided us a very good feeling, and the locking system meant we could both head out for the day and know that we could always get back into the condo
There was a build up of ice in front of the door. I tried to break it up with my work boots.

I love that this apartment had almost every essential we needed. The kitchen had almost every tool we needed to start cooking away almost immediately. The host was always ready to help. Clean and beautiful space altogether.
We had to drag our suitcases up and down 2 floors. No elevator.

What went well, is that the condo was exactly like the photos online. We loved having the large walk-in closet to unpack and store our things. As this was at the end of our trip, the washer and dryer was a huge bonus.
Ok, this is where it went wrong and we still cannot figure out where we, as the booking clients went wrong. I think it is fair to tell future guests, that there is two very steep staircases up to the condo, and it's over a subway shop (be prepared to smell subway buns cooking for the entire stay.)The second and most important note, is that although there are two easily opened windows (only 2 windows in the whole condo), if you open them, you will be opening them onto a very dirty (window level) strip of space between the condo and building behind. As the condo building is built into a hill as much of St.Johns main area is, this is why although you have climbed the steep staircase, you are at the next ground level. Suffice it to say, we did not cook in the lovely kitchen as we were only too glad to get out rather than sit in a windowless space to eat. The windows in the bedroom do provide some light into the main living space, and you do have privacy when they are closed due to the privacy frosting on the window. The third note, it and I think it's a problem for some accommodation on Main Street. There is no parking on the street in the summer as Main Street it blocked off for tourism. The day parking is very expensive when it's open, and although you can park while you unload your things you must then drive to the street above the building to a parkade. All very inconvenient! The manager/owner of this condo was extremely pleasant, and we did bump into him when we were leaving. I've thought long and hard about leaving this review, but I think it's fair to advise future guests of the trials and tribulations of this property.

Following NFLD customs of shoes off at the door. We take our shoes off when we get to the door - not in the lobby. HOWEVER .... taking our shoes off became a conversation and point of humour all weekend and guess what ... at 3 AM on Monday, i picked up my shoes at the entrance and put them in my carry on ... we continued to laugh right to the end!

We loved the set up of the place, - great for two couples. And the fantastic views of the harbour. It was very freshly decorated and grand.
This condo was on the third floor of a heritage building so there was not elevator. There was no mention of this in the ad. However this did not become an issue, as the stairs were not steep and were switchback so there was a landing to rest on. Also checking in was a little confusing as it mentioned two properties as though they were one which meant we arrived at the wrong one first. But to got sorted out quickly and Earl was very helpful.

This is a fantastic location and very spacious! We were travelling with adult children and everyone loved the fact they had their own washroom! The communication was excellent. We will definitely be back! And thank goodness for the A/C because it was extremely warm in St.Johns.
Nothing!

Location was right in the middle of the downtown which was great! Host Earl could not have been more accommodating or helpful.

Really lovely apartment, lots of space, everything you could need eg washer and dryer! Great location right on water Street. The owner was very helpful sending lots of useful tips for when it was raining etc.
Paying for parking but that's the trade off for being downtown!

It was quiet at night. Location couldn't have been better. Apartment was beautiful
No complaints

The 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious, fresh, clean and airey. It was well furnished and comfortable. Nice decor, lovely lamps and nice views from the apartment. It was very bright and well lit.
It was a very nice apartment. It has a washing machine, dryer, microwave and dishwasher.
The property owner provided information via numerous emails/texts for visitors to St.Johns. It included information on restaurants, tourist attractions, local hikes etc
There was an issue on one day with the toilet and I received a very prompt response and it was sorted out quickly.
My main issue with the property is that there was no lift and the apartment is on the 3rd floor. I only found this out with a week to go and when I couldn't cancel. I was extremely disappointed and upset with this, because this is something that should have been made VERY clear on the booking information. I have back issues and carrying heavy luggage and shopping up the stairs was really challenging.
I subsequently noticed that other reviews mentioned this and it's critical information that should be included. When I queried it, I was informed that historical buildings in St. John's do not have lifts. I don't know how I would be expected to know this coming from the UK, or indeed to know that this was a historic building and I found that unreasonable.
I was told there is nowhere on booking.com to inform potential guests about the stairs, but I'm not convinced. Even if this is the case, potential guests should have been informed once the booking is made, which would give sufficient time to find a suitable alternative. The fact that other guests have complained about it, should be an indication that the stairs/no lift for the 3rd floor is important.
I asked about an apartment on a lower floor and had to chase up for a response 3 days later, only to be told this wasn't possible.
Then hours before I was due to check-in, (I actually saw the message from the property while awaiting a connecting flight) I was told I could cancel the booking (help would be given to get a partial refund) and would be given as much assistance as possible to find another place.
Bear in mind this is just hours before my arrival. I expressed my feelings on this message coming so late and didn't get a response to that...just further messages about things to do in St. Johns, which were obviously automated and which was quite annoying at that time, given the content of my previous messages.

Location was perfect for seeing Water Street and the Jelly Bean Houses.
Stairs. We are seniors and found them challenging. The entrance to the condo could have used some cleaning up i.e. weeds and litter.

brand new apartment clean and quite
many stairs to get there

Beautifully appointed apartment - very spacious and spotlessly clean. High ceilings and great views of the harbor and close to the main restaurants and cafes
nothing not to like - was very noisy during the day with heavy trucks and traffic from the wharf but small price to pay when you choose to stay so close to the port.

TV’s in all rooms & ability to do laundry, great access to walk just about anywhere downtown. Owner provides daily suggestions on place to go restaurants, sites, etc…
It is above bars & night clubs so can be noisy late into the evening which could bother some, but the owner makes clear mention of that in ad before booking so it didn’t bother us at all.
