Beautiful pool area
Breakfast was nice but nothing special

Location isn’t the best for views but the staff make up for that.

Wonderful staff who could not do enough to help you. Rooms nice and cool and clean. Pool area always kept clean and always got a sun bed.
Climbing the hill from the centre of Matera back to the hotel in the extremely hot weather.

The hotel staff were all friendly and attentive. The pool was great to cool off and the whole building was tastefully finished.
Going into town was fine however returning to the hotel the uphill and numerous steps were for our ages was hard going.

Located a 10-minute walk into the old city this hotel is very well located, particularly if you have a car. Car parking is on-site and very secure. The staff were very helpful with local recommendations and the pool was a welcome relief during the very hot July period.
The padded bedhead in the room is old and looks like it needs to be replaced.

Fantastic! Our favorite stay in southern Italy!
Outstanding staff - so welcoming, friendly, and helpful
Beautiful room with balcony
Lovely breakfast
Quick walk to restaurants, center of sightseeing
Lovely, renovated villa with well-tended grounds. Elegant and quiet.
nothing! Wish we had booked a longer stay. There is so much to see in the area and Matera has a great, artsy, energetic vibe.

Great hotel with easy access to Matera old town. beautiful gardens. Private parking. Fabulous breakfast. Most importantly Alessia (front office manager) was wonderful, she spoke perfect English, sat down with us on arrival and explained all the main attractions, offered advice on restaurants and things to do. She was amazing and made our stay very memorable. Thank you :)
Terrible pillows. :(

Good location if you want to explore Matera but have a car. Secured parking on site. If you can get the room upstairs with the terrace it is HUGE.

Easy to find in a town that can be confusing! Good parking.
Small hotel - our room 105 had a huge terrace which was great for unwinding after touring the hilly town.
Continental breakfast was very good, all you could want in a bright room. They bring hot drinks.
Helpful staff who (obviously) know how to suggest a tour of Matera. They have their own map with an easy pathway.
Room was bright and well lit. Recommended
Nothing about the hotel as such. It is a 800m from the new town which is downhill. You need to be mobile to manage the walk which includes a lot of steps. However, the less mobile would not like Matera anyway as it has a lot of steps.
Matera is amazing but even in October, full of groups.

We received a great welcome at this lovely well appointed & located small hotel, set in a beautiful garden with a good swimming pool. Great to have free parking and be in a short walking distance of the historic centre of Matera. A good breakfast too.
only a minor thing - We like a pre breakfast swim but the swimming pool was not open until 9am.

It is a lovely place, almost boutique style. Whilst it is a grand old building it has very modern appliances and is decorated to a high standard. It was a good size bedroom with a lovely modern bathroom. The choice and quality of the breakfast was very good. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made the restaurant bookings for us and also organised a Tuk Tuk tour of the City. Having a swimming pool was also a great bonus. We would certainly stay there again.
We were on the second floor and the lift only goes to the first floor. Therefore we had to carry our suitcase up one flight of stairs. There were no other negatives.

Lovely spot just outside the old town of Matera with a very easy walk for people without mobility issues.
Lovely breakfast particularly the pastries.
staff were super friendly and helpful- recommended restaurants and booked them for us. Only had one night there but would definitely have stayed longer if time allowed. parking available. and lift to take luggage up to rooms in beautiful old home.
from some it will be too far from old town - but we loved the quiet neighbourhood.
