Francesca and Eustachio were excellent hosts. They met us outside the city centre and took our luggage in their car. Fresh milk, eggs, bread and other goodies were left for us at the accommodation. Their son Cosimo was also very helpful in recommending restaurants to eat. Property felt like home from home. Perfect location with excellent views.

Host's parents met us at a pre-arranged parkplatz outside the ZTL and then took our bags to the property. Same on the return. Very helpful.

Authentic and comfortable accommodation in a great spot on the edge of the Sassi within easy reach of the main sites and with amazing view from the front porch. Very friendly owners who make arrival, parking your car (if needed) and guidance to the accommodation straight forward and welcoming. The accommodation is spacious with open bedroom provided on a mezzanine level again with great views. The accommodation is located a stones thrown from some nice places to eat and has a small kitchen with all amenities for those wanted to fend for themselves. My favorite part of the accommodation was a small porch area as you enter which has room to house a small table for two which provides a lovely sunny spot during the day and an amazing spot to have a glass of wine and watch the Sassi begin to light up in the evening before you stroll to dinner. Picture attached. Highly recommended.

Everything was great! The hosts parents picked us up from the train station and dropped us off again. After travelling for months, I cannot tell you how convenient and lovely this was. I would have happily paid extra for this service if it was advertised.
The view from the balcony/front door is amazing. Best view in Matera!
The room was spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well.
The fridge was stocked with beer, juice, eggs and yogurt. There were other pantry items for breakfast as well.

A special and authentic place, a marvelous view into the old city, you feel like Jesus on vacation, without the crowds and followers.

The entire experience is very well thought out. From transportation, to the design of the BnB and to the amenities provided. For breakfast, the owners provided a variety of biscuits, jams, fruits, drinks, and eggs for those wanting something savory (Note: Sweet and light breakfast is typical of the Italian culture!). I must mention that the view is incredible. Reality surpasses the pictures on the website. This is truly a gem.

The location is probably one of the best if not THE best in Matera. The place is charming and very spacious for two. The hosts were very accommodating, helpful and responsive. We found it very nice to have the possibility to park our car outside of the Sassi and have our luggage be transported for us to the doorstep of the apartment.
We found it great to have the possibility to make tea and coffee in the morning.
The options for breakfast were all sweet and industrial. They were generous in leaving a lot of food for us, but we felt that the options available weren't very healthy and had to go to the supermarket to buy a few things for breakfast. Later during the trip we understood that breakfast is normally sweet in Italy. Still, taking into consideration that you cater for an international travellers, I would probably include a few non-sugary options (cheese, fruit, natural yoghurt, muesli, sugar-free cereal, eggs...).
However, we found it great to have the possibility to make tea and coffee in the morning. The many options to make different types of coffee and tea were great as well.

the location with the most amazing view on the edge of the sassi but really within a minutes walk of so many things. I don’t think there could be a better location to stay!
the owners who do everything they can to make your stay easy and memorable
it was immaculately clean
the decor wasn’t v modern but didn’t really matter as it prob helps keep the price down and it was very comfortable

Matera is well worth the visit! Casa Vitoria is a great place to stay. Our hosts Francesca and Eustachio made us feel so welcome and looked after. Arriving by car, they met and escorted us to the parking lot, even helping getting our luggage to and from the apartment. The apartment had everything our family of 4 needed, even breakfast provisions! Would highly recommend.
