Good historic location. Staff are nice, but are rushed off their feet. While we were there, there seemed to be relatively few people working at the hotel, resulting in overworked staff. Props to the staff, particularly the Scottish lady who seemed to be doing everything around the bar!

Stayed in room on third floor, which happened to be above the kitchen. Rumbling noise from fan for a large part of the day with a strong smell of cooking oil. Toilet was quite small ... not too sure why. The breakfast was quite disappointing, with basic items not available. For the evening meal, we were seated in the bar and not in the restaurant. Apparently the restaurant was fully booked despite being practically empty -- something about being set for breakfast service. The bar tables are not really large enough for a dinner of more than two people. Parking fee of £8.50 per day was, we felt, rather steep. We feel this hotel is not up to the standard expected of a DoubleTree.

Niggle, the basin plugs in the en-suite did not function. answer to did they know? yes many are the same.

Everything else. Noisy room, housekeeping missed our room, I had to chase along the corridor. paid for latte and got a flat white, salt and pepper put in the wrong containers, hardly any staff,

A great stay at the Hilton. Superb room and great location. Staff were friendly and the hotel had everything we needed. Parking on site and just a stones throw away from the Centre. I will definitely be returning

There were no faults for me

Clean room, nice breakfast and close to the town centre.

Ordering drinks at the bar was chaotic. Some of the draft drinks weren’t available, the ones that were had to be changed. No matching glasses for the drinks we ordered. Actually felt sorry for the young girl serving as she looked like a fish out of water. We also got stuck in the lift which was very frightening. We had to press the alarm and communicate with staff by shouting through the doors!
