For a visit to the Tennis Championships the hotel is superbly situated - a pleasant 20 minute wall across Wimbledon Common and a short walk into the lovely town centre. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The food was very good, the grounds wonderful and the rooms enormously comfortable. All in all an excellent hotel.
The Wimbledon weekend meant the hotel was very expensive. That's understandable, but £1,500 for two nights was a little over the top!

Lovely location & very dog friendly

Very nice hotel for single traveller with pet (or anyone of course). Safe, friendly, walks directly opposite on the open aspect common. Lovely deli in village Bayley and Sage for a garden or room picnic. Cheerful and professional bar staff for literally the best negronis.
Parking and pet charges are a little steep but hey ho, it's okay.

The rooms are tidy, pleasant and beautiful. The surroundings are absolutely stunning- picturesque scenery and greenery with The Italian Gardens, Richmond park nearby etc.
The energie in the hotel is very nice, and the staff are friendly.
Breakfast was really nice!
For some weird reason the hotel management decided to execute maintenance work in the hotel during the morning (and before our check out time).
We have woken up to a very unpleasant hard banging that sounded like literally coming from our ajacent room.
We called reception and they did attend the issue having the works stop, but said it will have to resume at 10am.
We went down to the lobby to discuss this further at reception, and they allow us to extend our check out time in an hour (12 instead of 11).
Waking up around 9:00 to an awfull noise by the hotel's maintance crew was really a shame, but at least they addressed the issue and offer a light compensation.

Beautiful house in a very nice part of London. The room was very comfortable. Lovely park behind the house. Staff were very friendly. That’s the reason I came back for a second visit. Will be coming back again.

Location and premises are historical, and the surrounds are amazing
The hotel is outdated. When we arrived, we were informed that the lifts were not working and my wife had to go up and down two flights of stairs being heavily pregnant.
We were not informed about the lift being out of use, even though the reception told us it hadn't been working for a few days.

Quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of central London and Wimbledon in the lead up to the tennis open.
Falling into a state of disrepair. Last stayed 27 years ago and the property has not been maintained as well as it should.

Room was comfortable and bed was large. Shower was powerful. My girlfriend liked it.
Room was quite pricey but location was convenient for our other activities. A pity that we didn’t have more time to enjoy the hotel and get some more value from our visit

From the moment we stepped through the doors & the reception staff wished my husband a happy 60th birthday & told us they had kindly upgraded us, we were blown away.
Nothing was too much trouble. The room was superb. Cool & a beautiful view of the walled garden.
The food was delicious. Service was always met with smiles throughout the day. Loved sitting out on the Orangery terrace overlooking Cannizaro Park.
Location was perfect!
There was nothing we didn't like but one teeny tiny struggle was the step into the bath which was high to shower. A little precarious but they did have a non slip mat & a bar to grab.

Everything was fantastic. I enjoyed my stay.

Amazing location, steps from Wimbledon Village, quiet, immersed in the park Cannizaro. Easy access to the metro. Shops and restaurants a short walk away.
Room cleaning not always to satisfaction.

I think it would be better to put the names of the rooms at the top of the doors so you can see it more easily.
also a hook in the bathroom door!
shower cold not enough hot water.
hair dryer not working properly
nothing in the fridge

Location and cleanlines
Mattress was too hard and therefore had little sleep and ached all over.

Lovely quiet hotel. Beautiful location on the edge of Wimbledon Common and just a quick walk to the village. Our room was really big and everything was easily available. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay again.

it’s was all lovely and any problems dealt with swiftly

Fantastic location and grand buildings
Having to pay £12 to park - no option

Great location, a country house hotel in a quiet area close to central London and within walking distance to Wimbledon village.
Bar/ lounge area was lovely.
Beds were not comfortable, too soft for me. Room could do with a bit updating. Service was mixed depending on the staffmember especially in the restaurant. Reception staff was very helpful.

There was a connecting door to the next room which was not soundproof and we were woken after 11.00pm each of the 3 nights. The first night noisy guests in the corridor woke us at 02.00am.

The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming.
The bed was super comfortable.
The key didn’t open the door - twice! Slight inconvenience.

the location was excellent
dirty room. hairs and fake eyelashes in the bath. hairs on a towel and the bathroom windowsill. and a big clump of hair on the shower floor. staff didn’t seem too bothered when they were told about it.

Beautiful place and room, amazing staff, great food
My window opened on to a bike rack/ storage area, little natural light
Convex mattress, felt like I could fall off if I moved from the centre

The location was super and once there we did not need a car for visiting the area. The hotel was very clean.
The staff were not particularly welcoming. Paying for car parking as an overnight guest when local roads are free was excessive especially when paying £280 for room only already.
We were on the second floor. Direction to the room is not straightforward, naming the rooms is a nice touch but makes finding the room tricky. We like to use the stairs and this is not straightforward when located on the 2nd floor and the stairs were not clearly signposted.
The 2nd floor corridor carpet looked very tired with bald patches. We had a superking bed comprised of two singles which is common but there was an uncomfortable bump down the middle! The shower is over the bath which is fine but the bath has very tall sides so for anyone petite or with less mobility it would pose difficult.

Hotel was stunning and the gardens were lovely. Room needed a little touch up, but overall lovely.
Service in the restaurant and bar needs some attention as very lack lustre and slow. Almost seemed an inconvenience ordering dessert.

it was spacious and comfortable with excellent staff and a great breakfast, though I would recommend a little less salt in the scrambled eggs.
It was all very nice.

Discovered a mouse in the room after two nights. We were moved to another room and offered compensation. However no compensation was made. The staff said that they waived cost of meals and parking when we had paid for the one poor quality meal there.
The central heating radiators in both rooms were very noisy compelling us to turn them off.
Staff disorganised and demanding full payment at beginning of stay which is very unusual.
4.1
nice location
the service and attitude was appalling
4.1
The hotel is in a beautiful setting within parkland and close to the Common for walks. It is also near to the Village which is a great plus especially as the Village has had a renaissance in the last year with new shops and eateries.
My room was very pleasant, but overlooking the roof of the orangery 'external organs' of the ventilation system which was not an attractive feature. I did not have any ordinary breakfast tea, just decaffeinated - I am sure that would have been rectified if I had asked.
