About this apartment hotel

Miniloft Mitte's downtown studio apartments are located in a stunning, prize winning building that combines a new building with renovation of an existing structure from the nineteenth century. The architects/designers are also the owners of the apartment, and have their own apartment in the building with their family. Architecture buffs love it here!

This listing is for a studio apartment in the category "Extroverted".
We have a total of 4 different studio apartment types in our hotel: "Extroverted", "Introverted", "Classic" and "Compact". If you are not picky, you may enjoy the non-specific "flexible" competitive rate, where you will be booked into the best apartment available at the time of your arrival.

The apartments allow you full independence while enjoying your stay in Berlin in a unique atmosphere. The generous floor plan allows you to indulge in the modern luxury of pure space. The apartments are equipped with everything you need, and we provide all-organic products and cleaning supplies.

All major public transportation routes can be easily reached from this central location, and so many Berlin attractions are within walking distance (Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Alexanderplatz, Berlin Wall museum).

There are supermarkets and excellent restaurants and cafes within five minutes walk.

Here is a bit of our history:

The Building - Phase 1:
Britta Jürgens and Matthew Griffin, the architects who run the minilofts, also developed and designed the buildings.
The Miniloft building was built on the property Hessische Str. 5 in two phases from 2001 – 2004. It is a complex interweave of renovation and new construction.
When they bought the property in 1999, the rear wing which now houses the classic minilofts was a run down building from the 1890's typical of Berlin Mitte.
In the first phase the architects completely transformed the narrow original wing by renovating the existing apartments.

The Building - Phase 2:
In the second phase, the modern miniloft building (bender), was constructed in the overgrown bomb site at the front of the property. Its three bent stainless steel ribbons embrace the existing rear wing behind and navigate between the buildings on either side.

The building has received several prizes, and been internationally published in many magazines and books all over the world, from Canada to Japan and China.

THINGS TO NOTE:

As with all of the city center of Berlin, there can be some construction going on around us, although the apartments are well insulated, it is normal that during business hours some audible disturbances might occur.

*The suns shades that you see in the pictures don't work anymore and it is unfortunately not fixable but we have dark curtains to provide shades in the Extroverted lofts.

Story behind the sun shades fiasco is on our hotel website called the Miniloft Apartment hotel Berlin/Design and architecture/The Miniloft Process/Design of the hotel: Glazed crime thriller

*NO LATE CHECK OUTS AND EARLY CHECK INS. Please contact the management team via message for such requests.

We are all mature, experienced, travellers; this place was on a main tram and underground line. The apartment was clean, and the beds were comfortable. It had everything we needed for a week's stay. Communication with hosts ( who I believe are architects?) was efficient, prompt, and helpful. Great week in Berlin! Would stay there again!! :-)

This was our first visit to Berlin. The location is great since it is within walking distance of the main train station in Berlin (a quicker tram ride) plus it is convenient to a subway stope and tram stops. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and spacious. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, or a short tram ride away for more variety. We were very satisfied with the stay.

This was a great place to stay while in Berlin. 10 minutes walk from the main train station Hbf, and then about 20-30 minutes walks to Alexanderplatz, Reichstadt and the Zoo, all through very interesting neighbourhoods with great restaurants and stores. Apartment was beautiful with all amenities

Renting this property was really easy. Straightforward process. Finding they keys is always an adventure with this type of rental. Not here. Easy to find. This unit is near several groceries, coffee shops, and local restaurants. The unit is modern and clean and was the perfect fit for our two week stay during the Christmas and New Year season.
