Lovely old cottage in a beautiful village right on the popular hiking trail. Everything inside is of the highest standard: beds, showers, even the kettle, there are lots of tools and utensils available. Feels like a lot of thought went into making sure every possible need is covered
It was surprisingly cold, probably due to the village sitting in between the hills, but fortunately there are plenty of radiators available, plus an Everhot oven which kept the kitchen nice and warm

Amazing beautiful cottage which felt so comfortable. The beds were nice and clean we all slept well
we loved everything about the cottage and couldn’t fault it

The only difficulty I had, but it was my fault was that I thought I would be able to access my emails on my phone which held the code to get the key out, but we had no signal, so had to ask the neighbours for bit of help, the neighbours next door( husband) was very rude, but the neighbours opposite were just so helpful. For future visitors please make a note of code somewhere on paper as well.
Loved everything, had a power outage but that was weather related thanks to the Storm, kept warm by the fire, but should have got some more logs in. The location was stunning, great for walks from Milldale to Dovedale to Thorpe Cloud, to Ilam and to Alstonfield. Went to the pub up the road, the tapas was ok but nothing special.

Beautiful cottage, had everything you could want for the comfiest stay. The information provided was so thorough and massively useful. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Great location for walking, with circular routes from the cottage itself. Nicely decorated and very comfortable beds, particularly the huge one in the main bedroom. Modern bathroom with underfloor heating which made it really cosy.
The third bedroom was really only suitable for children but the master bedroom huge and second double a good size.

Beautiful property in a stunning location. Very homely and lovely host!

The contact and information provided by the owners was exceptional (best we have experienced after many UK cottage holidays). The cottage is clearly an owner's home from home and the feel of the cottage is homely, cosy and safe. The kitchen (with an aga (but ever so easy to use) oven was a joy, as we cooked and eat at the cottage each night of our stay. Walks from the doorstep. On our first day we walked down the Dove valley, to Ilam bridge up the (very steep!) hill, then towards Ilam (beer at the Issac Walton Hotel), then back up the valley to Milldale. We added (unintentionally!) a few detours and managed to clock up 11 miles, but a beautiful experience of the southern Peaks. Milldale is in very easy striking distance of the entire Peak district, so getting up to Chatsworth, Buxton etc was no problem. A truly lovely cottage in a stunning location. Would love to return and highly recommend a stay.
Having to leave!

Fab location and excellent facilities

The location was perfect, we know the area quite well so new what to expect. It was a perfect spot for our family, Ashbourne is close and our 2 year old daughter loved hearing the sheep and seeing the ducks.
Anyone travelling with young children it is definitely worth visiting Chatsworth Farm.
The garden isn't really suitable for children but thats no big deal, it is exactly as described.

Banged my head on front door ouch!

The cottage had every possible amenity you could think of which is really helpful. The area is an excellent base with so many walks in the vicinity.

Great house, very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Gorgeous location and the most fantastic, thorough host. We will definitely be back!
Shame the garden isn’t enclosed for children and dogs, but otherwise the property is perfect

Lovely cosy well maintained cottage in stunning location.
Cottage was beautifully decorated.
Bathroom was fab underfloor heating & fab shower.
Outdoor seating area was great. Could of easily sat there all day admiring the views & watching wildlife. Added bonus is use of owners bikes which are good spec, popped over onto Tissington trail for easy bike ride. Highly recommend this cottage.
Nothing all good

Perfect location, lovely walks from the cottage. Excellent detailed info pack sent to us a month before we came so we were able to make pub bookings (need to book currently as pubs only reopened a week ago after lockdown). Cottage spotlessly clean and comfy, and very well maintained, with excellent modern kitchen appliances. Sunny spot with picnic table behind cottage. Liked that all cleaning materials, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid provided. Also in kitchen supplies of condiments, oil, starter supplies of tea, coffee, milk, bread. Lovely homemade marmalade and bottle much appreciated. Can buy fresh laid eggs 10 yards away. Lots of attention to detail. We enjoyed the lovely open fire. Comfy beds, good quality sheets and lovely soft large towels provided. Underfloor heating in modern bathroom with lovely deep bath and high quality separate shower. Plentiful hot water. Wifi very reliable and fast- no cut outs at all. (NB No mobile phone signal)
No issues
