Very enjoyable with personal attention to all guests.

I can recommend this hotel. Charming and helpful hosts, excellent location in the town center, but in a very quiet area. Very filling breakfast.

Zentral, mit gutem Frühstück

Familiäres, gemütliches kleines Hotel mit gutem Frühstück, total netten und hilfsbereiten Vermietern. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und Bahnhof sind fußläufig erreichbar.

Wie in vielen holländischen Unterkünften gibt es sehr steile Treppen. Jedoch der nette Hausherr hilft gerne beim Gepäck.

nice B&B in good area

really nice breakfast. good location on a nice street. very helpful and friendly owners. 10 minutes walk to station

was hot in room we had . no ac just fan which was a bit noisy. weather was particularly hot at time so probably not usually an issue. no lift only stairs to 3rd floor so might be a problem for some people

Very clean, quiet, and comfortable with exceptional hosts. Would definitely stay there again.

Hosts are the best. Very friendly, upbeat, helpful for questions we asked but also for offering up ideas for food and entertainment. My friend twisted her foot and they produced an elastic bandage from their first aid kit and brought her ice packs. The room was very clean and comfortable. They had a very small area to prep and display breakfast foods but they managed to pull it off very well, considering the dining room was usually packed. Fresh orange juice and expresso drinks, cold cuts and cheese, fruit, yogurts, breads, breakfast bars, etc. Coffee and fruit were always available in the lounge and a "mini bar" stocked with a good variety of drinks for a very reasonable price (honor system). The hotel is in the historic district of Haarlem, easy and quick to get to from the train station and bus stops around the corner. We arrived late and instructions given were thorough and easy to follow. No staff after 5 or 6pm but there was a number available to call. Once the internet shut down and, although I couldn't use my phone to call, I did email and got a response quickly. They are very conscientious about checking and answering email. Building was very quiet.

Two flights of narrow, curving stairs just to get to the front desk. No elevator or access for anyone with mobility issues. Host helped with luggage though. Was only a problem to us because of my friend's sprained foot. Room was a typically small European room, a little crowded for two but we made it work. There was a very small table with a plant and magazines on it that was too small to effectively use for anything other than a charging station and dump for various items (not a lot of storage in the room). We instead used the lounge for things like eating, planning and computing.

We loved our 5 nights at Hotel Malts. We hope to return

Comfortable spacious room. Generous breakfast. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Guests are able to make tea and coffee in the breakfast room throughout their stay.

The stairs could be a problem for some people

A good place to stay very well situated in the centre of Haarlem

Excellent cold buffet breakfast with a good choice of food to eat. The welcome we got was good with helpful advice on where to eat and what to see. Our room was spacious and the shower room was good

Lovely hotel in Haarlem central.

Henk and Anna Marie were lovely hosts. The breakfast was amazing and beds very comfortable. This is a hotel I'd highly recommend as it is quaint and cosy.

Friendly and clean - a real home from home during our holiday.

Henk and Anne-Marie were extremely welcoming and gave us great advice about things to see and do. They allowed us to borrow guidebooks for our days in Amsterdam and Haarlem. The room was exceptionally clean and the breakfast was a great start to each day. The communal 'breakfast room' complete with tea and coffee throughout the day provided a lovely environment to chat with other travellers. The location was great too.

Exceptional

In September 2022 We traveled to the Netherlands. This was Our second visit to Haarlem and this time We chose to stay at the Hotel Malts. The Owners of the Hotel are a couple Henk and Anne Marie, are pleasant, sociable and attentive People. On arrival We received a Very Warm and Friendly Welcome. The Hosts Welcomed us like members of Their Family. Henk gave a virtual tour of the city and suggested interesting historical sites, concerts and events, pubs and restaurants in and around Haarlem. Our hotel room was extremely clean and housekeeping is done daily. The breakfasts are delicious, fresh and nutritious, Anne Marie kindly offers supplements and advises on the choice. In short, in-one-word: if You Are a B&B Traveler — Hotel Malts is Your choice 10/10 without-a-doubt.

Absolutely great!

Excellent location, comfortable room and bed, super clean, plentiful breakfast and lovely hosts. Henk and Anne-Marie made our stay an unforgettable positive experience. I highly recommend staying with them instead of in Amsterdam. They will help you with everything and much more tranquil and relaxed.

We have already told our friends and family about our stay at the Maltz. Only positive comments.

We loved the location- so central to restaurants, the sea, stores, bike rentals, etc. Anne Marie, Henk and their staff were such welcoming hosts! Very helpful and accommodating. They even prepared a "take away" breakfast for us, since we had to leave very early in the morning, before breakfast was served. We definitely recommend this place and hope to return one day!!!

No negative comments- we were thoroughly satisfied!
