The pool and the view were awesome.
Building seemed unfinished.

Breakfast offered was both full English and continental style buffet and provided a lot of choice. The dinner menu was very good and the food cooked very well. The staff were hospitable and very helpful. The location is incredible, like something from a Bond movie!
4.0
Some of the staff was very helpful.
The organization: our room was not available at the time of arrival (more than 3 hours after the standard check-in); the room lacked better soundproofing; in general, the facilities are in bad shape; the experience in the restaurant was poor for the paid price.

The view from the hotel, the frontdesk staff
the breakfast was a little poor, the cleanlisse of the entire hotel wasnt that good for a 4stars hotel, the first night of the arrival the housekeeping staff left empty bottles of shampoo and showergel und even after we asked them to make the room after the first night they didnt refil the bottles.
already stayed at 3stars hotel better than this one

The view is stunning. Really stunning. The staff is friendly and wants to help.
This hotel is in decline. It sure used to be 4 star but maintenance had been neglected for several years. No hot water, swimming pool could not be used and the plaster came from the walls and was never cleaned up. Staff seems overwhelmed.

No hot water, worst food ever seriously under staffed.

Blessed with gorgeous weather that was the icing on the cake. Staff a little inexperienced but all could not do enough to look after us. Sunrise spectacular and pool setting magnificent. Food for breakfast and dinner excellent.

fantastic location & views. Good restaurant.
Stayed there 4 years ago and since then it has become a bit tired. A little bit of maintenance would go a long way. Staff are great, however they appear to be very overworked.

Good selection buffet breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful and an amazing location
The exterior of the Hotel and grounds looking tired
5.0
the view and location
cleanliness - the room hadn’t been clean for a week probably, there were grapes under the bed and the surfaces were full of dust. hairs on the bathtub. the stairs in the hotel were a disgrace, that carpet hasn’t seen a vacuum for a while.
8.0
Very beautiful view from the hotel, quiet, beautiful nature, swimming pool with refreshing water.
The food is modest, but because the hotel is far from the city, there is no choice. Expensive drinking water in the hotel. Better to take with you.

amazing swimming pool and view

The view is amazing and the location is extraordinary
I was super upset with the noise. There are events in the restaurant for non guests that are very noise and make a lot of trouble. Also there was a big fight between the people in the restaurant what made our stay terrible. After that we left the hotel and were almost one month waiting for the money return promised by the hotel. It was very unpleasant.

Everything! Amazing location, very nice and friendly stuff, clean and comfortable rooms

Excellent setting with spectacular views, externally the hotel looks a little tired but inside it remains immaculate. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, even if, to our shame, our Portuguese language skills are almost non-existent! We took the half board option as the location is quite remote and being on a motorcycle it is not so easy to find alternative places to eat - it was definitely the right choice as there was no restriction to the meal options available, everything on the a la carte menu was included - and the choices were varied and generous. Unfortunately it was too cold to take advantage of the beautiful pool but we did walk some of the pathways/tracks that can be accessed directly below the hotel without needing to walk on the road. Our room itself was a good size and spotlessly clean, not the best view available but we still had a remarkable vista to wake up to.
Other than a party using the hotel as a base for what appeared to be a guided 4x4 'offroading' break it was virtually empty, which made it feel a little soulless, the en-suite bathroom was essentially a glass enclosure with just a curtain as the only provision of privacy - fine if you're not shy! The hotel being designed on a curved principal has its drawbacks as the rooms have curved walls with fitted wardrobes and desk surfaces that are tapered as a result - a case of architectural form reigning over function. A shortage of sockets/powerpoints is a recurring problem for those that travel with a plethora of devices that need constant recharging and this hotel is no different to most others in that regard.
Patience and a good map/satnav is needed to find the N339 out of Covilha and the hotel entrance comes up very suddenly around a hairpin bend - easy to miss and not so easy to turn around and go back on a heavily laden bike - fortunately we didn't miss it. Should stress that these are observations, nor criticisms, and we would happily stay here again.
