The room had clean sheets, bathroom and furniture.
It had good internet, a TV, good lighting, a desk to work if needed. A small fridge, a kettle and some plates and cutlery.
The receptionist was professional and respectful, especially as he had to provide an additional fee which I had not been informed of at the time of the reservation via Booking.com.
The carpet had dark stains, specially bear the door. It just didn't give the room a good look.
The blinds had some hooks missing which was tricky to ensure privacy, as the blind didn't run to the end of the rail.
The most disappointing thing was that Booking.com did not advertise the room with the additional pet fee of $60.
So when I booked it and drove all the way to the hotel I was informed of this fee at reception.
We had been driving for over 7 hrs and were absolutely exhausted. All other properties we could have booked with were at least 30 to 45min away further. So we had no other choice but to pay the fee. As our fatigue could have endangered us by being on the road and in a city we've never been.
The pet fee was absolutely ridiculous, considering my dog is 16 y/o. Has her own bedding and barely moved. So there was no cleaning involved.
But the biggest problem with this was the huge failure from Booking.com to inform us of the fee.
Had we known of the fee we wouldn't have booked it.
And we probably would have gone to another place which we had found as we got closer to Canberra. Instead we drove to the city thinking it would be best.
The recptionis at Ibis said Booking.com should have had the fee on the booking but I assured and showed him this was not the case.
I stayed at 5 different places during this trip and avoided using Booking.com and the one time I used it it was a total disappointment.

The air conditioning unit did not work, it rattled, crackled and turned itself off repeatedly keeping us awake all night. Electrical fault suspected, reported to management. The manager did not get back to us. Tried to report the issue again to the regional manager. Neither managers got back to us. Still waiting.........maybe be best to report this issue to Booking com and put in a direct complaint.

We didn’t have breakfast. It’s a great location. Beds comfy. Love the trees.
We have stayed before and liked the rooms. We had a room downstairs in the corner. We didn’t like having no window as the others do facing the carpark. It felt cramped and dark in there. Also we had people getting up and leaving at 5am who shouted for at least half an hour also other people close by having loud arguments during the day and night. It was quite uncomfortable. I am just surprised that the family who left soon after 5am were not considerate or aware that other people would be disturbed by their very loud talking that went on a very long time.

I’d read reviews and knew there was a divide between those who were thrilled and those who were appalled. By Canberra standards, this is one of the cheaper options and I was more than satisfied in terms of cheap motels. It’s residential with absolutely no street or surrounding noise. Parking is free and plentiful. The room I stayed in was decent in size with a queen sized bed, lounge, wifi that worked the entire time, microwave, bar fridge, bathroom stocked with products including shower cap etc. If you’re expecting a 5 star hotel, this is not the place for you. This is a cheap (and fairly old) motel with staff presenting it as best they can. Although I chose not to utilise it, daily housekeeping was provided and staff were definitely making beds, changing towels, emptying bins etc daily since I checked with those around me and also saw it happening as I came and went.
The thing that dissatisfied me was it sounded like the hot water system for the entire level was literally inside my room; obviously it wasn’t but that’s what it sounded like. Anytime anyone used their bathroom tap I could hear a clunk as the system turned on and off. This happened all day and also all night. It would have taken an extremely deep sleeper to sleep through the noise. I wore noise cancelling headphones playing white noise through them the entire 4 nights I was there yet was still woken multiple times (as an indication of how loud the “clunk” was).
As stated in the description, the upper level can only be accessed by stairs. As is often the case in motel rooms, you’re sleeping 2m from the fridge which cuts in and out 24/7. As is not uncommon in cheap motels, the door base wasn’t exactly parallel with the floor, leaving a visible gap for noise and anything else to come under.

Nothing.
The property was not at all clean. Balcony was a dumpster for leaves. There were cobwebs around the doors to the balcony. The air conditioner was faulty. We raised the concerns with the employees and the reception didn’t seem to care. Totally disappointing experience with such a brand.

it has all the amenties including TV, fridge (with milk which is a huge bonus) a kettle with packets of sugar, tea and coffee. bed and pillows were very nice and comfy. very nice shower. plenty of fast wifi included. air conditioner was very good. for those driving there there is plenty of car parks, otherwise there are lots of buses that stop a short walk to hotel.
unfortunately the toilet in my room was making constant noise. but other than that, no major issues.

It was central
It was untidy with e-bikes littering the front of the property and there were old derelict cars in the car park

The room was comfy and clean, and in a good location.
We booked through booking.com and for some reason, there was no mention of our included breakfast, despite that being clear on my own email copy. The evening reception staff were unable to help, so it wasn't fixed until the morning of our breakfast. After all this hassle, the breakfast was extremely disappointing. Poor quality of items and poor variety, I have had better breakfasts in hostels. There was no hot food option. For the price you pay, I don't expect to have only white bread as an option. there was no alternative milks either, which is not inclusive of allergies.

aircon was on in room when we arrived. Temp outside was only 10 degrees so it was nice to walk into a room that was warm. It was nice to know they clean rooms under covid rules. Hand sanitizer was in the room.
No breakfast available.

Clean room, everything worked and friendly helpful staff. Nice outlook across the courtyard. Overall very good value for money
Very noisy with other guests talking and yelling in the corridor all day and until quite late. No breakfast available and with no cooking facilities and with no close by shops or cafes, a bit of a problem.

Had a private balcony with a door down to the carpark which was a great plus. Price was great, the only thing that was a downside was that there was a dip in the bed which was quite uncomfortable. All and all it was a great experience!
There was a lump in the bed but I still slept fine

Room was clean and bed comfortable.
Curtains were broken. No information in room regarding TV use or heating and in fact this posed a problem as we later found that just using the remote control did not operate conditioner - there was a switch beside bed but until we got staff to come up to 'fix; the unit we were unaware of this switch. Very annoying was the fact that we booked room online a couple of days prior to arrival. A couple of hours out of our arrival we received a call telling us that we would need to be relocated to another of their motels as the hot water system at Tall Trees had burst. A quick check online of the other motel had terrible reviews and when we told them this they referred us to another of their motels which appeared to be a hostel. I stated that even though they had offered free breakfast and they wanted a quick reply I was not making any decision whilst on the road and we would come to Tall Trees and discuss On arrival we were miraculously informed that a room was available for us and that the hot water issue was in a separate building. We were rather dubious at the hot water story as by later that night the car parks were full and lights were on in the other building. Although only booked for one night our plans changed and the next morning I asked if we could stay another evening, possibly in the same room. I was instantly informed that they were fully booked. This was understandable to me and was not an issue. I then walked to my car and on the way back to my room - approximately 4 minutes, I was told that they were able to accommodate us in the same room. Fantastic but slightly curious. In fact they had THREE rooms that we could have. Wow! The person at reception was different from the ones when we first arrived so I asked him had the hot water system been fixed? Huh? You know, your hot water system burst and you couldn't accommodate people. No. There has been no problems with hot water. Very very weird.

I went to Canberra for a race and had nowhere to have a shower afterwards. The manager allowed me to return to the hotel after the race, after I had checked out, to have a shower in another clean room without any fee. I was very grateful.
