Facilities well appointed, but the noise from the bar, stairs and cleanliness underwhelming.
Great breakfast.
We are not picky people, however we expect a good level of cleanliness and truth about the accommodation we pay for, this place didn't live up to that. We do not wish to be unnecessarily critical, but feel let down by the over priced and untruthful reviews. The owners should take a good look at their standards of housekeeping and treat customers with respect. Room was stuffy and bearing in mind the temperature, there was no air conditioning, however, a fan partly made up for it. We didn't want to open the veranda doors because of possibility of mosquitoes. We asked for a quiet room but it was far from quiet as the staff kept running up and down the stairs and allowing the door to shut thereby making a noise each time. On Tuesdays there is a quiz, which was extremely noisy because the Quizmaster was shouting into the microphone, our 'quiet' room was beneath the bar. This was furthest from being a quiet room. The upholstery in the restaurant was filthy as one could plainly see from the stains on every seating place. There was a 'discretionary' service charge, at the owner's discretion, obviously, which we were not aware of at the time of ordering food. However, the owners may defend the fact that there is a very small statement at the bottom left of the menu card; watch out for the small print before ordering. We would have gladly tipped the servers, however, it seems like the owners under pay the staff and over charge the customers to balance this out. As tour operators, we would not recommend anyone to stay here until the above comments are addressed.

Lovely place. We would stay again.
Just about everything.
The breakfast wasn’t as good as I had hoped - luke warm beans, and cold mushrooms.

I will certainly be staying again. It was faultless.
Inside the property is beautiful. Open fireplace in the bar, original features and a popular place to go so the atmosphere was good. The rooms are spacious and there is a pantry in the hallway to top up anything you may need. Will certainly stay again. The food is outstanding too.
I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like.

Great value for what we paid for.
Had evening meal which was very good after a long day but the breakfast you could not fault made fresh with all local provisions. All staff very attentive and great location.Bathroom well equipped with toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities with free bottled water nice touch.
Heating at top of stairs like a sauna but not a problem. Everything was perfect 👌

Very satisfied; would be happy to stay longer!
Car parking close by and convenient. Cheerful, courteous and helpful staff; excellent food - good choice for a small menu but very well prepared. Room - though not large - was well equipped, very clean and very comfortable - particularly the en suite facilities. Excellent value for money all round. Look forward to being able to return some time in the future if at all possible!
Nothing to dislike.
