Not the first time in Moxy for me, although this was a different branch. The formula is well thought, modern, yet not trying to be too "fancy" or blitzzz. Rooms are always very clean, comfortable, and the staff in Ludwigshafen was very helpful, polite, and friendly.
In Moxy there are only 2 things that need room for improvement. The fact that there is no mini-bar is fine, but at least a bottle or 2 of water in the room would be welcome. Secondly, the kind of desk thing with the low chair is fine to sit on for 5 min, but as a business traveler, you kill your back if you need to work out a report, and there is not much room to put laptop and all other stuff on

Keine Reaktion!

Der Italiener neben an.
- Eine Bettdecke im Doppelbett
- Licht unterm Bett geht nachts selbstständig an 🤷♂️

- Room was quite spacious for a family
- Staff was friendly
- We had mosquitoes in our room. Staff was informed the next day (at reception) but mosquitoes were still present the following night. We were not also explicitly informed whether the problem had been taken care of. I found a "dead mosquito" still clinging to the main window (wish I had taken a photo) which was most likely left by the previous occupant(s).
- Sofa bed had bed bugs
- Half of our stay was spent in searching/visiting local pharmacies to treat mosquito bites/bed bugs
- The breakfast area is not suitable (seating accommodation-wise) for a family. I had to move/join tables/seats to make it suitable for my family. Large Tables were already occupied and no proactive/reactive initiative from the staff either
After our stay, the Moxy Staff got in touch with us informing about making sure that there was no bed bugs' infestation along with several offers in order to make it up for us which is nice and a positive point but nevertheless it was quite late at that point since we had checked out.

I've stayed at this hotel twice now, and will use it again if I need to return to Ludwigshafen. Reasonably priced, good location, comfortable room, friendly staff. I very much have appreciated the black-out curtains and the air conditioning.
Moxy charges 18 euro for breakfast (at both of the properties in Germany where I've stayed) which is simply way too much. I paid for it this time, and the breakfast is fine. Good, even. I'd say I'd pay 10 euros for it, but it simply isn't worth 18. Must be only for people on expense accounts.

The 2 Bedrooms apartment itself is lovely
BUT
The door is not properly aligned to the lock slots which means that getting back in is difficult. 4 times we had to call the host to get someone to come and open the door on arrival after 11pm which meant we had to wait outside the door for over 2hrs while the host or his representative tried to open the door on all those 4 occasions.
The host will be sweet to you and exploit your goodwill. He will keep saying he will check the door and keep spraying WD40 into it. The fundamental flaw is that the locks are not aligned with the slots.
DO NOT COMMUNICATE DIRECTLY WITH THE HOST. ENSURE ALL COMMUNICATION IS THROUGH THE BOOKING.COM PLATFORM. RECORD EACH ISSUE ON THE PLATFORM EVEN IF HE SAYS HE WILL RESOLVE IT. THE FIRST THING THE HOST WILL DO IS TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOU DIRECTLY.
When we got fed up and anxious about what time we would get into the apartment on our return that is we would get in at all we decided to leave. We had booked the place for 10nights and had 3 nights outstanding. He refused to refund the 3 nights and Booking.com could not do anything about it because they said they could not validate our evidence as we had communicated with the host directly and not sent the messages on the Booking.com platform.
THINGS TO CHECK
Engineers report dated after 24th August certifying the locks and slots are now properly aligned. Another trick of his is to try and open the door remotely which does not work so he then says you are not technologically competent so removes the device and leaves you with the non-aligned door.
MICROWAVE
The host puts the child lock on the microwave so although you can open the microwave it’s not functional. There is no manual for the microwave. We went on line and got the manual to be able to use it. That’s how we got to know about the child lock. I guess it’s his way on saving on electricity.
Any door whether locked or just shut should be easily opened for the c

Nice and modern. I liked to books around the lobby to be able to sit & read.
The breakfast situation was a shambles; we paid for breakfast, but it's like a free for all - not managed at all. Breakfast supplies constantly ran out with poor staff trying to keep up.

I just love the Moxy concept with its bar/lobby open 24/7, super friendly staff, and best location in Ludwigshafen. Makes you rather feel at home than in a hotel. Gratis water all time is a plus.
As in many hotels, I have problems with big hard pillows, not suitable for cervical disorders. Ok for 1 or 2 nights, but for a longer stay I would bring my own.

A swimming pool would be a nice touch to add
