The perfect location. And the staff was very helpful. Charming lobby cat.
I asked if they could put together something of a breakfast because I had to leave very early: soda crackers, stale cookies, water and thin boxed juice. Minimal products in the bathroom.

It is in a perfect location. We felt we had the best hotel room in the whole of Urbino. Swallows wheeled above us and below us. The most beautiful Renaissance palazzo was right beside us. Urbino was laid out in front of us and green hills were in the distance. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about the Alberto Italia.

This hotel is very conveniently situated for anyone wishing to visit the major galleries and churches in Urbino. The room was well equipped with hanging space and storage for cases. Breakfast was excellent, offering the usual Italian pastries and also fresh fruit, eggs, yoghurts and cold cuts. We arrived on the afternoon of a busy public holiday but the receptionist phoned around to get us a table in an excellent restaurant. We used other restaurants that he had suggested on subsequent evenings and were equally satisfied. A thoroughly welcoming and well run establishment.
Our only negative concerns the heating. Inserting the key card brought the heating on to a pre-set 25 degrees, which we could only reduce to 22 manually. This seems both ecologically unsound and bad for the company bank balance.

Location, location, location.
The rooms are small, but it's the nature of the building. Bed were not super comfortable. But you cannot beat the location and ease of access.

This is a delightful and very efficiently run small hotel in the centre of wonderful Urbino. Only a two minute walk away from the main piazza, from which all the principal roads lead, and immediately below the enormous Palazzo Ducale and Cathedral, which tower above it. Friendly and very helpful staff in reception and breakfast room, which has a terrace (if you can beat others to it!). Excellent breakfast with made to order coffee. Lots of bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours nearby. Perfectly adequate no frills bedroom with air-conditioning and fridge.
I really couldn't fault this hotel!

Friendly staff, gave us sightseeing tips, located right in the city center, clean room, amazing view, nice breakfast.
Strange odor in the lobby (only in the lobby, everything else was fine).

Covid made the breakfast slow. Self service was withdrawn. The staff were very busy serving everyone.

There is a portico along the block with the entrance to the hotel which was nice since it was raining when we arrived. The location was within steps of everything we needed. There is an elevator. The room was large, comfortable and had views in two directions. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Everything was as good as can be expected right now.

Nice and clean facility. The breakfast was well worth the price with a wide selection, but the best part of the stay was how helpful and kind the staff members were with us. Staff members spoke English to facilitate my terrible Italian! The manager and Nick helped us with everything from bus tickets, dining, and even Covid-testing for reentry into the U.S.A. The staff made our stay extremely comfortable by explaining how the air conditioning and heating worked, and by giving us a variety of times to pick for breakfast. I would definitely stay there again!
The shower/tub combo was an excellent size compared to many hotels in Italy, however, the shower door was difficult to maneuver.

Very good location in walking distance to everything. Did walk from parking which is challenging as steep uphill and hard with suitcase. Fine selection for breakfast following Corona guidelines.
Wifi didn’t work from my room.

Very close to the city center and main square, besides being a short walk from the Duke's Palace and the main Church. Breakfast was very nice and served on a splendid terrace. All the staff were very helpful.
The single bed was too small for my liking and the bathroom was too small to be able to move inside comfortably.

As I read in previous reviews their concern about Covid security measures were extremely correct. Besides, hotel staff before and during our stay were very professional and attentive giving us directions, instruccions, sone advice or anything else.
The patio to have breakfast was delightful and even though rooms were simple in decoration they had beautiful views over the old town.
The situation of the hotel is oustanding: right next to walls of Palazzo Ducale! and piazza della Reppublica was less than 1 min walk. I would definitely choose Albergo Italia for my next visit to Urbino.
To say something: rooms are not really updated but considering the everything else was great I'd say it's a minor detail.
