All the staff without any exceptions: Reception, service, restaurant, bar, spa, housekeeping, gardening, maintenance, animation, kitchen; were friendly, welcoming, cheerfull and helpfull. The place was spotless clean. the food was quite delicious. The animation programms were very interesting and well thought of, and the staff did a great job executing it.

El personal del resort
La ubicación acedes por un camino de cabras, la comida es muy repetitiva y básica, la animación deja mucho que desear

Very nice, attentive staff, interesting animations. Nice African-style architecture of the hotel. Beautiful view on the ocean. Great manager Marina - we felt really welcomed.
The beach is beautiful - you can have a long walk of you like.
There were construction sites just around the hotel - my sleep is very shallow and the noises were waking me up every day at 7 am. There was also a renovation of one of the bungalows on the hotel area and the noises were unfortunately heard on the beach beds.

We really enjoyed our stay, we should have stayed longer!!
The hotel ambience is fantastic as well as the staff that is always smiling and very helpful the food is very tasty, there are fish, meat, pasta sweets, tropical fruit, fresh fruit juices… wow!
The beach is paradisiac, it seems a dream and it’ very relaxing.
What we appreciated more than everything was our bungalow with sea view… a stunning view! The room was very clean and there’s everything you need.
We will definitely come back, asante sana!

the only good points are that animation staff is nice, and spa has reasonable prices.
We were very disappointed by Waridi - on booking pictures, you could have the impression it’s a small, cosy hotel, but it’s actually a big spa with all the inconscient linked:
Rooms are old and have a weird smell, bathroom was a drama (door nearly banging in the toilet seat, water heat management was a nightmare, low pressure, with even sometimes no longer water at all…).
Animators are friendly, but sometimes animation music is too loud (aquagym at noon for instance - not relaxing at all when you are laying on the beach).
The diner buffet is very occidental : too bad that most of dishes are stuff you could eat in Europe, while you could expect more local cuisine such as curry’s, etc. Overall quality from medium to good for some meals.
On the contrary, breakfast buffet was very bad: industrial jams, tasteless pastries (and good luck to manage to have crepes, as they were always out…), coffee quality very variable.
Also, the private part of the beach is surrounded by locals who are literally sitting and waiting to tout for massages / cashews / clothing etc. It’s a very weird sensation to relax on the beach and see you are watched.
For the good points : staff and animators are friendly, good spa for reasonable price.

The view, the activities and the food
Had to walk from the gate and to the gate as the security would not let our driver in and the day of checkout we had to carry heavy bags to the gate as well... Very unpleasant

Breakfast was good, the staff was very kind
The location is far from everything, in july is too windy (it's blow all day). In front of the beach were standing a lot of masaai and tourist guide who were really annoing all the time-we didn't experience like this in Kendwa or Nungwi. The massage wasn't so good even when we said that we want stronger pressure she doesn't care or not understand.

the staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly especially Juma at the bar and Imen at the reception.
the electricity was going on and off all the time, therefore the AC nor WIFI were not working all the time. The hot water was not running 24/7. The beds were hard to sleep on.

Food

A monkey visited us in the balcony.
Food is not good. It was a surprise, usually food in Zanzibar resorts is great, but not here. Very poor, and you better hurry up if you want to eat some meat. There's also very little illumination in the rooms.

the place was very well maintained, the beach was clean, the staff were very nice, friendly and approachable. The mattress was comfortable. The spa was absolutely phenomenal! That was our biggest highlight. me and my husband got a massage and it was the best massage we both ever had (we’ve traveled the world and had massages in many many countries but this was the best one yet) it was so good that we got another one the following night and it was just as good. Cherish your masseuse because they are extremely talented.
the beach chairs didn’t adjust (flat and sit up right), the balcony chairs and bar chairs were very hard and uncomfortable (having a back cushion would of made a big difference). The rooms were old. The sink and the bathroom had a very strong foul smell that would invade the bathroom. We had to keep it closed so that the room doesn’t smell bad. But the most annoying thing I found was the fact that they didn’t have good coffee, which is very surprising after knowing that the owners are Italian. Instant coffee is a disgrace to coffee. We had payed for full board and we couldn’t even get an espresso in the morning for free, we had to pay for it. That for me was very annoying. I don’t drink alcool, but I love a good coffee, Italian should know better than that. Even for the breakfast buffet, brewing a pot of coffee is already 100% better than instant coffee and it cost the same thing. Maybe the hotel should invest in an Americano coffee machine and have filter coffee instead. Also the food in the buffet could of had more variety. We were there 4 days and we saw the same beef with the same marinade served in 4 different ways, that’s not variety, that’s the same meal whether you serve it on a stick, balls or in a shape of a steak. The local dishes were extremely good, I wish there would of been more local dishes and less western dish, we were in Africa after all.

Great Staff, Amazing food
Terrible beds and pillows, No internet. Beach was not private as advertised, you could not walk on the beach without being bombarded with 20 guys trying to sell you things. And the shower didn't have water pressure ..and power failures all the time so no aircon once a day.

The resort is beautiful, on the beach with great views.
The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast and dinner buffet was really well done, with many options.
The spa was well done, with great treatment options.
Unfortunately the Wifi was really bad, always disconnecting and not strong at all.
While it was great they offered a gym, the equipment and facilities for gyming wasn't great.

This hotel exceeded my expectations like no hotel ever managed to do it before.
From the cleaness of the room, to the beauty of the resort, the kindness of the people there, everything was perfect.
The resort is conveniently located far from other big resorts which gives it a special vibe.
The fact that is beachfront and you can wake up in the morning and have a sunrise swim made our trip a pure dream.
When is low tide just straight from the hotel you can take a lovely walk through the reef and be amazed by the beauty of it, full of corals, colored fishes, starfish, and loads of seaurchins. Don’t forget your watershoes at home!
Also remember to bring high sun protection as you are only 6 degrees from the Ecuator.
Buttttt the thing I loved most about this hotel was the FOOD! OMG - congrats to the chef! It was exquisite, from breakfast to lunch and dinner everything was delicious!!!
I would definitely go back and I will recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Zanzibar. We spent 5 nights here and 3 nights in Jambiani at Casa del Mar which is also a boutique hotel I absolutely loved.
Thank you so much AHG Waridi! You’ll have me as your return guest very soon 😀

Nice location.
Food variaty was ok.
Overpriced, it was our most expensive stay in Zanzibar and our worst experience.
Old, not renovated rooms, we had Bungalow with garden view, bathroom looks horrible.
Staff was far from the kindness we experienced in Zanzibar in other places. Hard to communicate with them.
At the restaurant is like you have a police supervisig you. Constantly asking you if you have finished. You are not allowed to take out from the restaurant the bottle of water you receive at dinner, I wonder what they do with them. Or during breakfast you are not allowed not even to take a banana and eat it outside the restaurant.

Location is quite good. The staff is friendly
- rather strange policies:
- you can not take an empty plate to the room. Had to buy a plate to eat fruits that we bought elsewhere in a local shop
- they give a 1.5l bottle of water for the dinner but you can not take the remaining water to the room. I wonder what do they do with it :)
- there is no phone in the rooms, so you have to go to the reception by foot every time you need something
- the rooms are rather worn out
- cleaning could be better
- towels could be cleaner
- animation is too loud - you can't find a quiet place during the day - reminds me of an average Turkish AI hotel

friendly staff, always accommodated with all requests, thanks to the incomplete occupancy of the hotel we were offered to stay in the room until the arrival (although check-out was many hours earlier)
hotel clientele, which the visitor unfortunately does not choose
