A good pick for lodge style Chitwan accomodation

The beautuful leafy grounds. Great restaurant. The spacious lodge style rooms. Pool bar. Staff.

It was summer when we stayed so it was very hot (<40 degrees celcius). In our experience the rooms would benefit from small bar fridge to keep water and other drinks cold. The pool needed more shade over the pool side seating. And the pool itself while a great size, features and setting, was very hot in the water. Keeping the waterfall going through the day if extreme heat would keep the temp down.. bit far out of town but that did add to the safari camp atmosphere for us.

Nice comfortable stay in the vicinity of the National Park but check for better safari options

The property is a sprawling one set in one corner of Sauraha - just at the periphery of the Buffer zone of the Chitwan National Park. The rooms / cottages and spacious and clean. The in-house restaurant has limited options but overall the food is tasty. They also arrange for safaris and other recreational activities.

Given the price range, the restaurant has extremely limited food options. This should improve. If you do not have your own conveyance, it is also not possible to venture out in the village and have food outside. Secondly, it is quite strange that in Nepal the government charges for the safari jeep, camera fees and the the likes are not at all transparent. This gives the properties to charge exorbitant amounts to the guests willing to visit the core areas of Chitwan. Moreover, the guides provided by the hotel (at least the gentleman who was our guide) prefer to say nothing about the jungle and its flora and fauna though they seem to be quite knowledgeable. The drivers who take you inside the core areas are really unprofessional to say the least. Our driver ruined our safari nicely by stopping whenever and wherever he wanted to urinate in the shrubs and not stopping when he was supposed to so that we could observe the animals. The point is, this is supposedly beyond the control of the hotel but once we completed our safari the hotel staff never ever asked a single question about our safari experience. However they were extremely eager about recommending various safari options to us till we booked one. Summing up, this signifies that the hotel staff are aware about the quality of safari drivers and the guides and they simply do not try to improve anything. And am making this statement after having taken more than 100+ safari rides over the years in various national parks and jungles of India. Never ever had this sort of an issue earlier.

A Very comfortable stay. Excellent location with a great ambience . Reception staffs were very helpful and welcomed us with a refreshing drink. Rooms were decent, quiet and comfortable. A lovely swimming pool to cool down in the warm weather of chitwan. I Would definitely come back in the near future .

Very good

Excellent service, fantastic attentive staff, beautiful grounds and garden. The rooms are luxurious and the beds are so comfortable - best night sleep in Nepal. The pool was clean and a great way to relax and cool down. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Only powder coffee was available, and it was terrible. Please invest in a proper coffee machine. We took a tuk tuk into Sauraha for dinner and good coffee.

We'e come again

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is located a bit outside of town so it's a perfect area to relax, very quiet. The pool is great for the hot weather. We stayed for two nights and had one night the buffet and one night we ordered a la carte. The price for the buffet is a bit high but overall the food was really good. We'd come again!

We did a jeep safari with the hotel. Overall it was okay but our guide could have provided a bit more information around the park, flora and fauna. Also, the entrance fee for the park is overpriced. Officially it's 2000 Ruppee but they charged 25USD. Still all in all a nice experience.

Please Don’t book a big No No

property looks like 5* . They maintain cleanliness and looks. But don’t be fooled it’s just Looks Looks Looks n food is good

No phones is room . No network in rooms . No hot water. it was pathetic. every time we had to go out of room in search of staff then they would start hot water. plus no one sits at reception after 9 pm. The fittings are jaguar but no hot water. charging points in room were loose the charger was falling if we requested for 3 pin plug they said they do not have it when we complained to senior then she said they have it why was it not provided. when we booked for elephant breeding through hotel they did not provide even a vehicle initially wanted us to go on walking tour. Finally when we said we will book some outside tour then they gave us hotel jeep . They try to provide you with discounts at end of your stay so you do not end up writing a honest review. But will like to mention my experience. Extremely pathetic

activities’ prices are almost double compared to outside tour shops (nearby). food is almost of one type. no diversity and of food and taste is average.

Very pleasant stay at an oasis just out of town with everything you will need within the resort.

beautiful grounds that were well kept. Very good service. Pool was a nice place to unwind at and for a dip in the middle of the day when it got warm.

Slightly out of town (apprx 40min walk into Sauraha) but a nice walk to go there bypassing local farms and along the river. It is also a short tuk tuk ride and staff were very helpful in ordering them for us.

beautiful, peaceful , interesting ( nature ) and thoroughly enjoyable

The location is amazing . The rooms are spacious and clean , the gardens are tranquil and a lovely area to sit and just be in the moment . it’s on the edge of the forest and the rapti river . staff could not have been more helpful and informative.

the shower head was provably too big for the water pressure but I’m not complaining . minor detail

relaxing safari adventure

beautiful garden and relaxing pool area. staff went out of their way to make the stay comfortable and arranged traditional dance performance for Diwali. convenient for arranging safari activities.

limited choice of food - quite a few options unavailable, instant coffee and not very vegan friendly. had some difficulty with the food.

Amazing safari experience in the Community Forest provided by Naval

It was great especially excursions with naturalist Naval. Hotel is lovely, has a garden, feel really connected to the nature. In the room very nice shower with a comfortable temperature water. The best safari is in Community Forest, not in the Chitwan National Park.

During our stay there was a local wedding which means loud music during more than 24 hours, in the room it felt like disco. If the hotel find the way to communicate with locals for this it would be great. If the lights in the hotel garden will turn off automatically at night because the light comes to the room through the window and have to wear eye mask if sensitive to light during sleep.

A very nice hotel with kind, welcoming staff who are extreemely attentive to their guests. The hotel itself is comfortable, well designed and well maintained - set in a beautiful garden, with lots of seating areas and hammocks, and a very nice pool area. The location is great, at the edge of town - quiet and relaxing, sorrounded by rice fields - close to the community forest.

Disappointing

The swimming pool was the only thing thats really nice and they provide clean pool towels. So that was the only highlight of the stay.

1- There was big spiders in the bathroom and alot of mosquitos and other insects (inside the room) but to be fair maybe that will be the case in any place in Chitwan due to the fact its in the nature. 2- Guide doesnt know what he's talking about and theres no one ever at the reception..literally you need to go search for help whenever you need anything. 3- Checkout process was a hassle! They do the calculations like its the middle ages, the guy was adding and subtracting on a piece of paper to give me a final bill which took around 15 mins and then after i paid he ran after me to say there was a mistake. Ofcourse there will always be a mistake with such inconvenient way of doing accounting. 4- Not worth the price.

Excellent PEACE & QUIET

If I go to a jungle, I am probably looking for peace and quiet. I do not need city centre to entertain me. This location provided me all that. I am a domestic traveller to Chitwan frequently. Mostly resorts in Sauraha are just a building but this resort has ample green and space to relax and stay away from the daily hustle bustle, the concrete jungle and the busy people of the city. If needed, there were 2 stand by shuttle jeeps to take u to the city centre which is a 20 min walk anyways. Staff were very friendly. Food was good compared to other resorts I have stayed in that area. The swimming pool looked appealing although it was slightly cold to swim in February, so will visit again to swim. Thank you Green Mansions. You are my favourite in Sauraha so far. :-)

It would be good to let people know about the shuttle service you provide pre hand. Also, the barbeque you do is amazing but people would not easily know. Maybe a black board to indicate your specials?
