I would not recommend this place

Good location

It looked like a room in a prison. Misleading advertising with the photos, nothing to do with the room I booked with the room I was offered. The room and accommodation was very old and dirty, we had cobwebs on the walls, the heater looked like it was going to explode at any moment, the bathrooms were dirty and clearly in need of renovation. There was not even a bedside table in the room.

Nice place to stay!

Everything was neat. Room was nice and warm on arrival. Bedding comfy and clean. My kids loved the Guinea pigs!

子供との旅行で利用しました。以前にも利用したことがあり、2度目の利用でした。テカポ湖へのアクセスもよく、室内もアットホームな雰囲気で、居心地良く過ごすことができました。

キッチンが混み合う時間は、調理スペースも食事スペースも常に混雑していました。受付もセルフチェックイン/アウトで、スタッフさんはいつも忙しそうだったり不在だったりで、困りごとを相談しづらい雰囲気がありました。

Would recommend

Very close to the main part of town. Lovely feel. Other then that is was a great place, perfect for singles, couples or even families. Everyone super friendly. Simple vibes.

The rooms were very hot (summer), and the wifi didn't reach the room.

暮らすというテーマの旅にピッタリ！！！

テカポで、この価格は良心的。広い芝生スペースがあるので、生活していて気持ちが良かった。クリスマスに利用したので、ホストファミリーがケーキをおすそ分けしてくれた。ニュージランドのクリスマスを垣間見れて楽しかった。洗濯機と物干しがあるので、洗濯物を一気にガガッと干せてとても助かった！施設は古く、共有バスルームで、部屋も芝生をまたいで離れだったが、住めば都という感じで時間が経つほど慣れていった。また行く際は、安いし、ここで十分！！って思うので、オススメです。

本館別館みたいに、部屋は何室かあるので、場所によって差はありそうだった。部屋によっては、いちいち回り込むとか、ちょっと面倒な部屋と、ダイニングキッチンにすぐ！という部屋と、ただどっちにしろ10-20m程度の差だけど。良くも悪くも鍵がインロックできてしまう。

Great place to stay on a budget!

It has a great atmosphere. Lovely if you have kids with the animals. Lovely outdoor seating for the sun. Great location, far enough away to not be bothered by road noise but close enough to walk to town.

Walls are a bit thin if there are kids on site. In one of the rooms the paint work wasn’t fresh and there was only PowerPoint.

Great stay

Comfortable beds and clean room.

All was great. Haven't really seen much of the surroundings due to us coming a bit late. My very first time to have hand-washing soap topped up with water thou. That's a bit of a slack there. Other than that, great facilities.

Back to the 60ies

Das guesthouse ist sehr offen für wünsche der Gäste. Die Gemeinschaftsküche ist sehr gut eingerichtet und bietet genügend Platz. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber das weiß man. Ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt. Gestern wurde der Kaminofen angschürt, das war sehr angenehm und lauschig. Der Garten ist gemütlich und schön.

Anfangs hatte ich ein bisschen Probleme, das Türschloss zu verschließen. Ist eben ein sehr altes Haus. Aber das macht ja den Charme aus.

Great shared kitchen facilities, very well equipped. Even had a small herb garden. Showers and toilets nice and clean. Room was already warm when we arrived. Having tennis racquets and ball to use during our stay was great

run down… a bit untidy.. bbq needs cleaning and the cabin needs new carpet. you should probably silicone the shower in the cabin that will rot eventually

A perfect place to stay for all seasons except winter.

Enough utensils/pots/etc for everyone to use even when the kitchen was busy. (It was an issue that some of the guests didn't clean up after them, so you had to do that before using that space.) Rooms were comfy and with plenty of room. The two heaters and great bedding kept us warm even with the snow falling, and an icy, clear night the following night. Loved the herb garden patch. The location was quiet, close to other facilities, and easy to find. Instructions were clear at check in. Appreciated the hot water bottles being available even though we didn't need them.

It probably needs a sign to beware of the wooden steps after a cold clear night as there was unseen iciness on them at breakfast time. I thought there might be ice so took care, but others not used to such conditions might take a tumble. I didn't realise the distance in the open between the rooms and the kitchen so I wouldn't stay there in winter. We had to park on the road side so it would be not fun to be unloading in the cold wind and/or rain.

Well equiped and clean communal kitchen. Twin room clean and comfortable. The best thing though was that from early in the night it was very quiet.

Great location, very friendly staff. Regularly cleaned & very hygienic. Spacious with good facilities. An honesty box for the washing powder. Given a free towel to use. Good amount of plugs and hangers. Shower was well maintained.

No pegs available for hanging clothes out on the line. Doors open and lights on until late which attracted a lot of moths etc. The oven was broken. Unfortunately, didn't see any of the pets but could hear the sheep at night!!

Satisfactory price but disappointing that there were so few animals considering the marketing

The beds were comfy, the accommodation was close to town, the kitchen and lounge were really nice.

We booked the place because of the advertised animals but were very disappointed that there were only two chickens and two baby ducks to see during the whole stay. The buildings were also quite old and run down - marks on the walls, quite old bathrooms and showers. The lounge and kitchen were great but the rest wasn't so nice.
