Friendly staff
Room clean
Shower hard to regulate
No snacks etc at bar
Room not serviced in day to refresh tea etc but if ask at reception they were quick to provide things
4.5
Great location, set in its own beautiful grounds, close to the A18 just north of York
Friendly and helpful staff
Good value accommodation
Great restaurant, the many has something for everyone, big portions and good value food.
The York Bird of Pret Centre is also based in the grounds and was a fantastic place to go for a family visit
Parking seemed limited when we arrived but there is plenty of overflow parking round the back of the hotel
4.5
We leave to early for breakfast
All good

Big rooms, comfortable bed and great breakfast
Nothing we ‘didn’t like’, but if seeking to gain the last few points a more modern bath/shower room and more car park space might be something to look at.

Surroundings were lovely
We had water coming through ceiling. Toilet smelt of sewerage. No one to talk to about it as we arrived late. Still awaiting response from management.

Bedroom smaller than expected
Not that clean bedroom

Food from restaurant was beautiful (a little over priced)
The staff were pleasant but could of been more friendly

the outdoor surrounds of the beautiful trees & outdoor furniture to use

The room/suite was comfortable, clean and spacious. The hotel location was quiet and convenient for York. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Dinner was tasty with good sized portions.
The push button on one toilet was really hard to push. Hard to get the kettle out from under the tap without pouring some out. We chose two whiskies from the list as ones we especially wanted to try and neither were available. Breakfast was rather lacklustre - the fruit salad was fresh/crispy but bland; the mushrooms seemed as though they had been boiled and looked unappealing. I asked for one fried egg and one vegan sausage and was asked “Just one”, “Yes” I answered but when they arrived I had two eggs and two sausages!
3.5
Peaceful, lovely setting. Plenty of parking. Bright, airy and clean with friendly staff.
Booked an Executive room :(
Was fully adapted for people with mobility issues.
Was also inter-connecting.
Even though it was adequate it was not Executive.
Pizza was over cooked.
Breakfast was adequate.
4.5
the staff and food were great
No views from bedroom except a bland central area of grass. Not much in easy walking distance

Lovely & friendly staff.
Good location to travel into york. . Great size room.
Staying at the hotel, you also get a complimentary ticket into the birds of prey, which is just next door.
Breakfast could improve.

Everything great. Would stay again
Highly recommended
Here for family meet up. Booked by daughter but very happy
Nice breakfast
Close enough to York attractions. Can use park and ride to avoid parking issues in City
No issues. Nothing at all
Would come back or recommend to anyone
Road to hotel unadopted. Sat nav got a bit bemused. Easy to find in daylight. If you arrive after dark you might find it a challenge
Found it ok though and room was great

Good sized mugs.
On arrival clearly saw towels were not fresh and one appeared soiled, reception provided clean one when it was brought to their attention. Room so cold we went out for the afternoon. On return the heating had been on but was turned off again. Duty Manager provided alternative heating. Phone didn't work. Shower, not sure if this is compliant re: legionella control.

Lovely rural location 👌
The Hall was so well set out and the dining hall was beautifully decorated
I was there for a British Institute of Embalmers Yorkshire Division AGM and Dinner.
This was a perfect location for our gathering.
The staff were amazing. So polite and helpful.
The staff at the dinner kept everything running smoothly. So professional.
My room was clean and well stocked with tea, coffee and biscuits.
The bed was so comfortable 😌
There was a range of choices for breakfast and extra orders for fried eggs and porridge were available on request.
I wished we could have stayed longer.
Everything was perfect.
