Excelente estadia, fomos muito bem tratados, o café da manhã e a janta eram ótimos, mas o melhor era poder ir em várias onsen, apesar do nosso quarto não ter uma privativa

Very unique Ryokan experience - loved everything about it; was very traditional and a bucket list experience. Service from staff is of the highest level, very friendly and very helpful. Would recommend everyone to stay here and experience it.

Excellent fine dining with an elaborate menu, attentive service, and large room.
Too expensive

The dinner, breakfast, and onsen were all amazing! I also liked the massage chairs that were right outside of the public onsen. The staff were also very attentive and assisted me the moment my foot stepped foot on the property!
The hand massage was fully booked by the time of arrival. I wasn't aware that I had to make a reservation for them as they're only available starting from 4:00 pm till sometime in the night. Also, I didn't really like that in addition to the high nightly charge, the drinks from the fridge and the drinks from the dinner menu cost money.

Such exceptional staff, who made us feel welcomed even from the start. We arrived early, so they served us snacks and tea while we waited (and spoke really good English!). The Japanese Kaiseki style dinner was served to us in our room, and featured many different amazing courses. Our room also had a private Onsen which was just what we needed to relax following a hike up Mt Fuji the day before.
The hotel is tucked away a few minutes walk from other things in Hakone (ie not right against the lake or on a major road), which can be a plus or negative depending on your preference.

Our family of three (mom, dad, and teen daughter) stayed for two nights / one day at this traditional onsen ryokan to celebrate dad's birthday.
The staff were attentive and helpful. The facilities were very nice with beautiful landscaping and koi ponds, etc. We splurged on the "Japanese-Style Corner Room with Outdoor Hot Spring” and were glad we did. It consisted of one main room where we had our meals, a second bedroom, a small sitting room, and our own outdoor bath! We also enjoyed visiting the public baths on site.
The lovely woman who served us all our meals (Rena?) was sweet, friendly and laughed easily. The numerous courses of the kaiseki meals were obviously carefully prepared and plated - our compliments to the chef! Some dishes might not be to the taste of every foreigner but fortunately we love Japanese food and are game to try new things. (Note: It was a heck of A LOT of food, for breakfast and especially for dinner, so difficult if not impossible for us to finish everything.)
This was an wonderful experience we will always remember. ありがとうございます

Breakfast and dinner were all very delicious - you could tell how much care went into the preparation. I was upgraded to a room with a private onsen and that was absolutely spectacular. The onsen even had a view of Mt. Fuji! Finally, the staff was exceptional - they were very receptive and were eager to help with anything and everything I needed. My room was clean and quiet. Even though this is very much a "treat yourself" experience, I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The staff at Yoshimatsu went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable experience - we were blown away by their friendliness and level of service. The property was beautiful and serene, and was the perfect location for what we were interested in - 3 minute walk to Lake Ashi (we were able to see Mt. Fuji) and about a 30 minute stroll to the famous tori gate. The onsen baths were also relaxing and the kaseiki meal was delicious. We particularly enjoyed our personal attendant who served our meals and took care of the turndown service. This was a definite highlight of our trip to Japan.

Firstly the staff - they were all very friendly and helpful all the time……they really made th experience special. But also the location , the traditional layout of the hotel and rooms, following the traditions ( shows off, etc) while there and the amazing meals.
Really can’t fault the hotel or the experience.

Everything from the staff, to the location, to the facility, to
the dinner and breakfast was wonderful. It was an unforgettable
experience. We didn't want to leave! It was the most relaxing and rejuvenating stay at any vacation spot we have ever been.
Nothing at all. Everything was perfect and amazing.

The service is absolutely awesome. the staff is super friendly and trying to make everything possible. They are super friendly and comforting. Although we were new to Japanese culture we could ask everything and never felt out of place.
We had a kaiseky-like dinner. My fish was exceptional. My wife couldn’t eat seafood, so they changed the menu and incorporated steak, which was also very delightful.
The location is very good to explore Hakone. It‘s a short walk to the river to get on the boat.
The public bath is very good as well.
We wanted to use the private onsen. However, you can‘t make a pre-reservation and just go there, once it‘s free. As we only stayed for one night, it stressed us a little bit. There was a couple that used the private onsen very long (like two hours). However, after dinner it was free, so we could finally do it.

The room, food and onsen are all really very good but the staff are exceptional; they are so thoughtful and caring.
As far as the hotel goes - nothing at all. If possible, perhaps the owners could persuade their neighbours to reduce the height of some trees so you have an even better view of the lake.

The staff was incredible from start to finish. The dinners were amazing. The property was impeccable. The hot springs were wonderful. Superfast internet (>325 down/ 400 down Mbps).
Decent location requires some walking (they will pick you up / drop you off from the bus station if you ask them). The price was high.

I've been to quite a few onsen ryokan and this one is the best one by far! The service was excellent, from arrival to departure, all the staff were so attentive.
When we arrived, the hotel staff helped us parked our car and matcha and japanese sweets was served while checking in. When we arrived in our room, our luggage was already there!
Dinner and breakfast were served in the room, my husband even had a massage done which was also done in the room. The onsen was amazing, we could have a little view of mount fuji if it wasn't cloudy.
When we left out room to check out, hotel staff was already there to take our luggage. Everything was so perfect!

Beautiful buildings and rooms with exceptional Japanese style and service. The politeness and attention to detail was almost overwhelming! The private baths were fantastic from the perspective of unrestricted access through the evening before and after dinner and after breakfast before checkout. exactly what we hoped it would be

Very traditional experience, staff is very polite and kind even with the language barrier. The room is spacious and comfortable. The facilities are clean and calming. We felt very welcomed and the onsen makes the whole experience worth it. It is also nearby the Hakone national park, which Mt Fuji is visible when the sky is clear.
Nothing, it was an awesome experience!

We stayed at the Yoshimatsu for two nights to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Despite the heavy jet lag, it was a magical and relaxing experience.
The gardens are incredibly beautiful and calming, and we enjoyed the Kaiseki dinner greatly, but the highlight of our visit was the warmth of the hotel staff.
Everyone was so kind and patient with us, giving great advice for local sightseeing and craft souvenir shopping. We especially want to highlight Fuku, who made us feel at home and took amazing care of us throughout our stay. Thank you for making our anniversary trip so special!
Recommendations: the room with private onsen is absolutely worth the extra cost, there's nothing else like it. If like us you fell in love with the beautiful plates and cups during the dinner service, the cups are very reasonably-priced and we're glad we bought a couple as a reminder of our trip.

We loved the beauty of the environment and the quality of the service. Fuku-san made us feel completely at home with her winning smile. It was a wonderful taste of a proper ryokan experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious - compliments to the chef!

The best traditional Ryokan experience. We loved our stay.
The room with the Mount Fuji is really spectacular.
The staff is polite and there is the receptionist who speaks very good English. She helped us a lot because we lost something at the train station.
The food is outstanding and our house maid very sweet and kind.
They even offered us a prosecco bottle.
