Positives : the property is spacious and the view is incredible. House manager, Tharanga and his team of staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The food cooked at the Villa was really delicious. We also found the beds very comfortable and all slept very well.
Cons : overall the Villa really needs some TLC. It is very run down in areas and generally felt dusty. There were stains all over the furniture and the bathrooms were full of mould. The lampshades in one of the bedrooms was so full of mould and rust that I had to ask the staff to change them. The shower in our room was full of cockroaches on day 2. Thankfully Tharanga treated the area and they went away but it was not pleasant! The TV room isn’t cosy at all as the sofas are just outside furniture. I feel like this space could be really homely but it feels unfinished and out of date.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we probably wouldn’t return to this villa despite the fantastic staff and food.

The design of the house is just amazing, the staff was super nice and on top of everything! My husband broke his collarbone and the intendant of the villa stayed with us at the hospital to facilitate everything. The cook team was great.
The villa is a minute away from the beach. To be fair, the villa is not brand new and the climate does not help but honestly we were 7 people and loved our stay there.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our college friends 20th year reunion.
All the reviews are applicable but surprisingly no one talked about the food the chef in the villla prepped for us. It was some of the best meals of our lives.
The location is perfect, close to all the action in the beach are. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. We were a very picky bunch and they catered to each and every of our requests with a smiling face.
We will definitely return if our travels bring us back.
The villa itself is stunning. The architecture, room layout, comfort, everything. Even if i try to think of something to complain about I really can’t think of anything. Kudos to the staff, make sure u look after them. They deserve every bit of recognition!
Thank you!!

Nisala Villa is such a well designed villa in an amazing location. There are so many well considered design features that make the villa work so well for our two families (9 people in total). There were enough private spaces so anyone could escape the ‘crowd’ when they needed to, but the communal spaces were the best! Several indoor and outdoor spaces designed for dining, relaxed drinking, sunbathing, watching movies / football etc. We found ourselves moving from one space to another depending on the time of day, size of group and activity.
Professional and friendly staff were on hand at all times, but they were very discrete. Food at Nisala was amazing - we had poolside bbq one evening, traditional rice and curry another. We had some fussy eaters with us but the staff at the villa managed to cater for everyone.
On top of all of this the villa is only a short tukuk ride away from Mirissa beach - our favourite place in the whole world I think!
Our holiday was so relaxing and we have some very happy memories.
Thankyou Shehan and your team at Nisala.

We had a fantastic week at Villa Nisala. We were a group of 4 adults and 6 children and the separate villas somewhat interconnected worked well for us. The kids absolutely loved the pool, the local beach was lovely and while the water is a bit rougher it is lovely for sitting and enjoying the view. The staff at the villa were fantastic and could not have been more helpful with food service (always delicious and they were more than happy to accommodate adult and kid preferences), arranging transport to places and even letting us know when a monkey was in the trees nearby so the kids got to see it - a highlight !
Day trip wise we did trips to mirissa beach, the elephant safari and Galle and enjoyed them all. Some of our party also visited the tea plantation and turtle sanctuary which were also great. Would highly recommend Villa Nisala.

I cannot say enough about this breathtaking villa, staff who treat you like royalty and feel like family, delicious food - high praise from our 16 year old son who would order pizza if given the chance...he loved the fish, salads, and vegetables prepared by Ramya, and of course the beautiful setting on the beach. I initially reached out to Jill by email and she always responded immediately with great suggestions and assistance with transportation, etc. Tharanga is the property manager who handles everything effortlessly - much love to him and his family as his wife was giving birth to their son the day after our departure. Isura, Dharshani, and Channa all worked tirelessly to make sure the property always looked meticulous. We can’t wait to return!

This place is absolutely stunning! We enjoyed our stay very very much. Thanks to a perfect villa, the amazing atmosphere and especially the stuff! We have stayed in Villa F and have been served by Udara and his crew. They did such an amazing job. The food was always very delicious and surpassed our expectations. They are very helpful during the whole stay so your only duty is to relax!
Thanks a lot I hope we can return one day!
Kind regards

We have just returned from a week at Nisala Villa and had a wonderful time. The villa itself is spacious and comfortable, and the team of staff that take care of you ensure that you have the exact holiday that you want, whether this is going out to explore temples and local towns or just hanging out by the pool. Jill was very responsive and helpful during the whole process from inquiry right throughout our stay and we would highly recommend Nisala as a place to stay. Many thanks to the whole team, Catrin & Philip

Nisala Villa is absolutly a small paradise by its own. It is hard to say what is the most precious there. The owner is very friendly and helpfull, always ready to answer any questions and help us in reservation process.
The Staff – Shehan is the most professional manager I have met. He guesed and made our wishes come true before we even thought about them. We wish to have more time to check how far his limits goes… Kumari hosted us like a mother and unfortunately, we haven’t eaten better until we left Nisala Vila..The Rest of the Staff masters the art of appearing and disappearing In the only right moments.
Villa is genius located. Enough far from civilization to feel like In a desert Island and enough close to buy beer and wine for dinner and go surfing. The smart design of the Villa linked Sri Lanka accents and modern influences. Furthermore, arrangement of rooms is very practical.
We fall In love with the Villa and we hope we come back some day again.
Nisala Villa in perfect style fulfill the mission: “The pleasure of our clients is our priority”.

Our family 8 of us travelled from Uk to spend Christmas at Nisala and had a fantastic holiday very memorable .
The villa is in a beautiful location with a lot of greenery and overlooking the ocean , it has easy access to fine beaches , and temples and wild life parks .The upper ocean villa we stayed in is stunning , luxurious ,beautifully designed and decorated, spacious , practical ,comfortable ,, modern with a lovely pool and steps down to the beach .the roof top offers panoramic views and beautiful sunsets
The staff were very professional , attentive and were very keen to do everything they could to make us happy and the service we got from then was impeccable .We were thoroughly spoilt
We had some delicious home cooked meals ,delicious seafood , a barbecue on the beach ,with a bonfire and fireworks , a life time experience
We travelled with two young children aged 4 and 2 so travelling was restricted , but we thoroughly enjoyed just being in the villa and the kids enjoyed the pool, the beach and the cinema .

It would be hard to top Nisala Villa in Sri Lanka - the villa, setting and view, as well as the staff are all amazing. We had debated whether to stay here or Amanwella, and we could not have been more pleased in selecting Nisala Villa!
Jill, the owner in Hong Kong and also the villa architect, was beyond helpful in planning our stay and her local insights were invaluable in finalizing our itinerary.
There are 4 villas on the property, with the placement and design ensuring privacy. The villas are located up a private winding road that adjoins private temple lands, beyond a gated entry manned by security. I just can't say enough about the villa itself. It is gorgeous, set up from the beach, overlooking the Indian Ocean. The view, sound of the surf and the ocean breezes soothe the soul. You can easily sleep 8-10 and never feel crowded. Each bedroom has its own bath and the living spaces, including outdoors are luxurious and spacious. It was just my husband and I traveling, and we are already plotting our return with close friends.
The staff is top notch. Jerome, the butler provided personalized service and ensured we were welcome and cared for. He confirmed all our local plans the evening before to ensure we were well cared for outside the villa as well. He was assisted by Tharonga who also ensured a fabulous stay, and who provided special touches along the way.
We enjoyed the best meals we had in Sri Lanka, courtesy of their fabulous cook Ramya. We had breakfast and dinners at the villa, where all you need to do is put in a menu request, with dinners having a nominal charge. We requested local cuisine and were not disappointed. I would return to Nisala Villa just to shadow Ramya in the kitchen - it was that good! I believe the housekeeper, Dharshani, also had a hand in our fine dining, while she also ensured the villa was immaculately kept.
Jill offered her car and driver during our stay at only the cost of gas. We have really appreciated Wasantha as a driver and felt safe in his hands amidst the craziness of Sri Lankan roads, from our pick up in Galle to our drop off in Colombo. Wasantha went out of his way on multiple occasions to ensure we were taken care of - even helping us shop for a hopper pan and ingredients. While we were thousands of miles from Seattle, we could not have been made to feel more at home. We stayed 3 nights and only wished we had more time here. Just go - you won't be disappointed and you won't want to leave.

I and my family have had a wonderful time in Sri Lanka, we have not have enough words to describe this place. We travel 8 adults and 2 kids and everyone has a lifetime of memories, especially the kids who were wonderfully well taken care of by those who worked in the villa
We stayed in this top designer villa with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. On the beach you can see sea turtles and watch local fishermen fishing on the seashore.
Jill, Linn, Mr. Shehan and the rest of the staff gave us the best service.
Can strongly recommend Villa Nisala to others.
Thank you!
