Fantastic location on the canal. Lovely older hotel including a great breakfast and the owners are very helpful. Leiden is an amazing city!
Lots of stairs, which wasn’t a bother for me, but maybe for others.

Very good location. Can walk everywhere. Nice breakfast, good coffee. Hosts Willem and Frans very friendly and helpful.
No aircon but the building is very old.A fan might help.Paper cups in room for tea and coffee, would prefer normal cups.

Fantastic location
If they had told us they were next door in the cafe that would have been good - incase we needed to ask anything !

Friendly staff and great location for exploring Leiden and close to the station. Friendly, helpful staff

Very economical, fantastic location, helpful staff. I like the old charm.

Staff helpful - helped find alternate hotel that would meet our 2 bed requirements. Complimentary coffee. Good location.
Stressed on booking that 2 beds were required. Two bed room was given away on arrival. First night room was very small with one bed. Second night we were given a larger room with two beds.

Friendly staff. Good value breakfast. Beautiful old building with character. Modern bathroom.
Interior could be modernised.

Had to run, had no time for breakfast.
Walls poorly insulated and neighboring rooms are unusually noisy, at times as if tenants were in the room
with me ! Given that the building is historic and room space is limited, it would help to significantly soundproof all walls in each suite. Improved and more substantial doors would also help with this problem.

The hotel is in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a modest, but clean and nice accommodation. Only thing is the more difficult accessibility typical for old dutch buildings.

The location was central and the hotel is an interesting historic house.
It was very noisy outside on a Saturday night, with loud student parties. The breakfast was ok, except that the coffee machine did not work. My room was cold at night.

Good location and staff
There is a generator above the room, meaning it was very noisy and wall at bed was vibrating.
Windows are not sound proffed so dogs barking and seaguls screaming was part of experience

The room vas very nice: a confortable bed, a nice desk to work and a bathroom with both shower and bath tub. Breakfast was good with different kind of local bread and warm toasts in an ancient room with wiew on the canal. The staff very helpful and kind.
I would provide a higher temperature inside the room when it is wet.

such a beautiful location and family like vibe and greeting! we had a family wedding in town and received a lovely greeting every time we came in and everyone we left . the breakfast was lovely and the owners are warm, kind and considerate ! we left for another journey and before returning home we diverted our journey to spend our last night in De Dolen!
The spacious family room , the warmth of the owners .

Wonderful position in the center of the city, lovely historic building.

Beautiful building, in a great location.
I was moved between two rooms, without warning. Both rooms need renovation. The first room had sticky stains on the coffee table and a fridge that didn’t work. The shower head in the second room was stuck, I fixed it easily. I wonder why it wasn’t done earlier. The fan was very noisy. The bedding reminded me of my military service. I couldn’t get the wifi to work for me.
